Altair was dumbfounded at this pokemon Aptitude, it would definitely high and was going to reach high grounds in a strength perspective.

While passing by the Avian casually glanced at Altair's party to then continue their journey.

This glance was enough to freeze Altair's heart. That glance was enough for Altair to realize that if he did some offensive move he wouldn't have a good ending. This Braviary like his Ability said had keen eyes, nothing would pass through its eyes.

Thankfully the Braviary just went on his way casually followed by the Rufflets.

Braviary was a pokemon that only had a male population so they had to mate with other species. This should make them scarce in number. Their other counterpart on only female population was Vullaby and Mandibuzz while the latter being the evolved version.

But this was enough for Altair the outside world was indeed too strong and he didn't want to stay here for longer, so he decided to return to the village.

This was actually the reason why he decided to use that rift gate. He wanted to verify if he could teleport back to the territory of the rift without using the rift gate.

After all, there could be a chance it wouldn't work and it's better to make sure.

Altair began to focus and particles began to gather until a gate that looked like the entrance of a cave but with a night blue color to it filled with white particles here and there, Altair wasn't new to this scene and began to step forward until he was in the other side followed by the Sandslash and her mate followed by Lucario.

Before Lucario walked forward she looked at a tree in the distance and focused on it for a little before shaking her head and resuming her steps.

After the gate closed a man with a bandana hiding his face came forward and inspected the place until he found nothing but he turned back and ran to somewhere in a hurry.

Back to the familiar spot Altair who was holding an egg began to walk back to the village. He had teleported everyone to a place that was quite close to the village.

So it took them little time to step into the village territory. While walking back to his residence he found himself being greeted by the villagers. Who inquired about the 2 cute fellows behind me.

In which Altair responded in kind and briefly introduced them. People from the village were good people and quite carefree and looking at the armadillo and porcupine like pokemon they greeted them in high spirits while giving them some berries.

What the village didn't lack was berries for sure. Sandslash and Sandshrew were quite surprised and happy about the treatment.

Truth be told the village atmosphere was enough to make them both relax and rapidly their favorability began to increase. Altair who was paying attention to that smiled and puffed his chest. He was proud of what they were building, and thankfully the 2 new residents were liking it.

Altair's plans still had a long way but he didn't want to rush anything. He had found a place where the villagers could go mine some iron nearby on the west side but he didn't tell them to go yet.

First of all, he had to make sure the path was not dangerous and look at the surroundings. He could have done it sooner but there were more important things to do at moment and it was not like they were in need of iron desperately.

Clearing the place was not that difficult but it would take some time. So with the addition of Sandslash and Sandshrew, he could use that to train them both later.

So in the next 2 weeks, Altair just trained Sandslash and Sandshrew it was not as troublesome as Yungoos since Sandslash was a diligent pokemon and although Sandshrew was not strong he wanted to become stronger. Their training went smoothly. Now Altair no more was a punching bag for Lucario and passed the baton to Sandslash who gladly accepted. They were near the same level being Sandslash Level 24 (She got 1 level after all that fight with Zubats) and Lucario was Level 26.

And their fights were quite epic. Although he placed a lot of restrictions on their fights to train certain moves and maximize their capabilities.

And definitely, Sandslash has become stronger pretty quickly. The way she fights became less wild and more calculated. But this is mostly her credit since she is quite smart already.

These weeks Altair besides training his pokemon he has been helping the villagers with whatever they needed. And the village really had too much food. It is not a bad thing but waste isn't a good thing at all. Besides he had to find a new source of income.

And the Iron he found probably could be sold. There were a couple of miners in the village that were working on the fields.

There was a lot he neglected like the Talents people had. He needed to nurture the children toward their talents and make them like the field of where their talent was.

For example, there was a kid that was a kid called Nolan who was 11 years old and his talent was in fishing, but he thinks that fishing is a boring thing to do.

For Altair who was basically in charge of the village now, this was a matter to worry about. After all, how would you feel if a for example a doctor was being a bartender. A waste of talent for the most part.

So today Altair decided to spark a light on the kid. And for that today he wanted the kid to accompany him fishing.

And it was today for two reasons. One the 'BOOK' shop had another old rod. Two he was curious about the effects of the rod. Not forgetting that he had his paycheck of Apricorn selling yesterday.

So he bought the rod and was walking toward the house of the young fellow.

After a little time, he found his target the kid was wearing a simple white T-shirt with a Pokeball image on it, coupled with brown trousers and black shoes. The kid had brown hair and brown dumb looking eyes pretty unremarkable in many ways, he was sitting and looking at the sky in a daze.

Altair shook his head and decided to bring the kid back to life.

''Hey Nolan, I was looking for you. Today I am going for a little bit of fishing and was wondering if you would like to follow me for the day?''

Hearing the person Nolan already knew who it was and sighed while directing his look toward the handsome guy who looked at him eagerly.

Nolan thinks that their village chief is weird lately. He has been insisting on fishing every time he talks towards himself. Nolan thought that fishing was not at all exciting so kept dismissing it. Now the chief was here to invite him to accompany him to fishing. He wanted to reject but thinking twice he didn't have anything to do for the rest of the day so why not.

''Okay, Chief let's go fishing then,'' Nolan said while nodding with a bored face.

They went on their way toward a spot to fish since Altair already had all the gear needed. Followed by Lucario and Sandslash. Yungoos was lazing around since his training had ended and Sandshrew was taking care of the egg.

Throwing the hook toward the water skillfully Altair began to talk to Nolan. And after 30 minutes, the hook got bit and a fish was pulled out after Altair did wonders with his strength.

The fish had reddish-orange scales coupled with big vacant eyes that screamed dumb all over the place. It had a three peaked yellow fin resembling a crown. This fish was a pokemon and was the known Magikarp.

And the dumb looking fish was on the ground jumping energetically while his eyes were curiously wandering all over the place.

Altair was dumbfounded the rod caught fish quite fast but then looking at this dumb looking fish he couldn't help but shake his head. Magikarp with Blue potential but he has no aptitude for being dumb. He wanted to place it back to the water.

But just to make sure he looked at Nolan and he began to question life right after. After all, the person in question was looking at magikarp who was jumping in place with stars in his eyes.

'This mother....' this was the time that Altair realized that the kid didn't ever go to a fishing spot. And seeing him catch a pokemon right off the bat made Nolan's heart race.

Looking at Nolan's expression and looking at the Magikarp he saw similarities. He just facepalmed and bought a Pokeball out of his backpack and threw it at the Magikarp. The latter got absorbed into the Pokeball and to no surprise, there wasn't the slight resistance.

Altair didn't even look at the Pokeball twice and gave it to Nolan and said. ''Here this pokemon is for you it is called Magikarp and if you train him well he will evolve into one of the mightiest pokemon called Gyarados. But you have to nurture it well. Being a fish type water is its place so good luck.''

With that said Altair gave the Pokeball to the dumb looking kid. The latter threw the Pokeball to the water.

'WHAT THE F???' Altair was about to faint but Lucario who was paying attention went to the water and picked the Pokeball.

Altair decided to calmly instruct the kid. But no surprise Nolan managed to release the magikarp in the water.

Magikarp who got release bolted swimming away.

''...'' Altair was checking his sanity.

Nolan was looking at the empty Pokeball in a daze.

Altair was facepalming. But to his surprise, something came swimming on the surface.

It was the Magikarp.

Watching the happy Magikarp was there looking while making bubbles. Altair gave a random rod of that was used in the village to Nolan, then he picked his things and left in a hurry fearing for his intelligence.

What had happened here was something he never again wanted to remember.
