New ability

Altair felt a piercing pain the moment he saw the text. But it came fast and went faster.

He felt a slight discomfort in his eyes and began to stare at Riolu who was looking at him in wonder.

And to his surprise, a blue screen popped out and expanded, he confirmed it with Riolu, and only he could see it.

So he began to eagerly look at the content written on the screen.

Friendship: 203 ( Best friend)

Potential: Red

Aptitude: 4 ★

Moves: Quick Attack, Endure, Foresight, Aura sphere, Feint

Looking at the screen he couldn't help but tear up at the Friendship score. So many days together it was not for nothing.

Reading to for a while and began to focus on Aptitude and Potential both but nothing came to mind. But still, he was quite happy to acquire this skill. So to celebrate he decided to have a Session of cuddle with Riolu. He was happy and now he knew the gender of his daughter! He has to watch out and look for future bad guys. With these thoughts aside he resumed his cuddling with Riolu who was giggling.

A couple of days went by and Altair kept studying his new ability.

There was actually a ranking chart knowing and evaluating each parameter but the ones he focused on the most were the potential and Aptitude. Where is that aptitude is the natural ability to acquire knowledge or skill while the potential is the currently unrealized ability.

For example, If you have aptitude you will have cognition, some people just learn things faster than other people and it involves aptitude, the higher your aptitude the bigger the chances of learning new moves.

While potential will be future strength or cap that it can reach, you are born with both and the values are completely different.

If a pokemon has high aptitude it will be stronger than a pokemon with a lower aptitude if they have the same level and trained on the same moves, because the more likely is that the higher aptitude has a better understanding of using the moves.

While Potential is something that your born with and basically influences the speed of your growth, obviously someone with higher potential will be growing much faster than ones with lower aptitude, it influences the bottlenecks through life. Someone with a higher potential will break those shackles faster than's normal, so generally, they have fast growth in strength.

A battle with potential and aptitude, obviously in the same level aptitude will win after all they have a better understanding at the moves they use and generally in later stages, they will have a bigger pool of moves that they can use. While potential just bullies aptitude because higher potential means higher level generally and if you have a higher level you have more points to work with more damage, faster, etc.

Potential the lowest being Green, then Blue, Purple, Red, Orange, Gold and the highest being Black.

Aptitude only has a 5-star system where if you have 1 star the probability of learning a move not set in your leveling system is practically null and 5 star where you can just say it's a genius.

Altair was glad he Riolu was actually decent in Potential and marvelous in Aptitude. His Riolu was a genius at least that is what he believes in. A smug grin was born in his face and if someone was there with him that person would probably try to take that grin off of him with a couple of punches.

But the happiness was too big. Such a beautiful pokemon. What could he do, he was a lucky man.

The stats with people would be completely different not showing the nature and level but showing only the aptitude. And adding Loyalty to it.

Just like that, and it wouldn't show the friendship with a number but if you had a Bad, good , Very good or excellent friendship. Then there can come, Love, if that person had feelings for you. But this would be depending on people.

While loyalty just goes for the word if you are loyal you won't betray. It was separated into Rebellious, Might rebel, neutral, loyal and diehard.

Obviously neutral people won't rebel unless they get swayed by the rebels. While loyal people just won't betray you.

To Altair, the human panel was quite difficult, and he would act on his own and just try to take tabs at these things from time to time to see if people were satisfied with his performance or not. Things like that. It would be bothersome to just arrest a slightly rebellious person just because of the panel. At least that's what he believed.

With this ability, he could see the potential of pokemon and pick the cherry on the cake. The one in the middle of hundreds. So it was quite thrilling!

With these things out of the way he decided to focus on his Riolu after all she was his pride, and he wanted to help her in making her move usage more fluid and natural. If she can be familiar with her moves, life will be a lot easier for her. And then he can try and make her learn some major abilities.

So he became a lot stricter on Riolu although she didn't mind it that much and quite enjoyed their time together.

Riolu just loved spending time with her owner.

So the grind began. A bipedal canine and a young man began the journey toward their limits.

Days went through and then months followed ending on the day when he was going to make his 7th birthday. Today he was the day to mark both him and Riolu since his pokemon just hit lvl20 It arduous training that compensated. Without the stimulus of fighting being able to grow at this speed is actually notorious.

So he threw a big party for Riolu's sake which the latter was delighted since she got a lot of berries.
