17: Water all around

The next day.

Jayden got up and showered, after feeding his Pokemon through the system's feed option, he went downstairs to eat.

the hotel he stayed at offered food services which came with paying for a room.

Jayden ate a bacon egg and pancakes breakfast with some juice, after filling his stomach he decided to head out towards the cerulean city gym.

although the city had many buildings, Jayden immediately spotted the huge shadow of the gym in the distance while riding on his bike.

after a few minutes on the sidewalk and passing by many buildings, he glanced at a large sign which pointed towards a paved passageway leading to the Cerulean city gym.

The Cerulean city gym was extremely grand, it was a large white colored building, at the top were two triangular see-through rooftops, the wavy image of a sea could be seen reflecting on the glass rooftop.

Jayden rode on the large path leading towards the entrance of the gym, there were trees surrounding both sides leading him to his destination.

After crossing a bridge over the river surrounding the gym building, Jayden noticed a guard in front of the gym, he only glanced at Jayden for a while before continuing his duty.

"hello, are you a trainer that's trying to challenge the gym leader?" a deep voice was heard after Jayden entered the building.

a man in a white robe-like outfit appeared in front of Jayden, he was around 178 cm, almost an inch shorter than him.

"yes that's right, can I challenge her now?" Jayden asked immediately.

"oh, you're in a hurry, it's still early, the gym leader is out right now and will probably be here in 20 to 30 minutes, but since I'm here I can allow you to look at the battlefield while you wait, follow me"

Jayden followed behind the man as they entered a corridor which led to a grand room.

there was water all around, it looked like a huge swimming pool and had rocks inside of it.

this was the battlefield of the cerulean city gym.

after bidding Jayden farewell the man in white walked away towards a room beside the battlefield.

Jayden walked around the edge of the large pool, this was definitely a well built fighting area for water type Pokemon, luckily he also had a water type Pokemon so the battlefield wouldn't really affect him in the gym battle.

Jayden found a place to sit while watching the grand battlefield of the cerulean city gym.

25 minutes went by in a flash while Jayden sat in a seat in the stands, as time went by he noticed many figures entering and leaving the gym, they seemed to be workers that worked here.

"I'm back" a familiar voice was heard, it was the man in white robes.

but behind him was a young lady with orange hair and a tight fitting swimsuit.

this was misty.

she seemed like a cheerful lady with a fiery aura and full of energy.

"I didn't think we would have a challenger so early in the morning" misty yawned before walking up Jayden.

"hello my name is misty, leader of the cerulean city gym" what's your name" she said while reaching out a hand.

Jayden shook her hand and replied "my name is Jayden"

after talking for a bit, a lady entered the battlefield.

"can both pokemon trainers take their spots on the battlefield?" she said.

Jayden and misty both stood on different sides of the battlefield.

after going through the rules and customs of a gym battle, she announced the start of the battle.

"good luck, I won't go easy on you" misty said with a smile, and threw out her PokeBall.

"come out Staryu"

a Staryu appeared in the air and fell inside the large pool of water.

Staryu released a cry and prepared for battle.

Misty watched on, waiting for Jayden to make his move already.

"come out, Gyarados" he shouted and threw out his PokeBall.

an intimidating pressure immediately befell the whole battlefield, even the water shook lightly as a large red Gyarados appeared in the air.

it released a soul nerving roar as it landed in the water, sending water everywhere.

Misty was startled a bit, even she was intimidated by this shiny Gyarados which was bigger than normal.

"no wonder he was so confident in this battle" Misty muttered and prepared for battle.

"don't think you have already won, Staryu let's show him our power, hide underwater and get a chance to use tackle" she said.

misty planned to use staryu's small stature in her advantage to do some damage to Gyarados.

Staryu sunk into the water slowly and immediately disappeared.

"Gyarados, turn this place inside out, use whirlpool" Jayden shouted.

Gyarados roared once again and used whirlpool.

the water below shook and a large suction force appeared, the force slowly became larger and stronger to the point where waves were being created.

misty frowned while seeing this, with a whirlpool of this size, staryu's position would be discovered in a matter of seconds.

"Gyarados, the moment you see staryu attack it with an ice Fang" Jayden said while watching the battlefield.

as the waters of the battle field raged, Staryu had no choice but to resurface or it would get caught in the whirlpool.

"NO, Staryu stay back" misty became anxious, the battle had only just started yet she was about to lose.

boom!

the water around Gyarados splashed everywhere like an explosion before Gyarados flew out like a divine dragon.

it's fangs became covered in a layer of icy frost before it appeared Infront of Staryu with its menacing face.

Staryu was scared stiff and couldn't move.

the ice Fang landed on it and cracked it's hard shell before it was sent flying and landed next to misty, fainting.

misty sharpened her gaze and returned Staryu back to it's PokeBall.

her only thought was that Gyarados was too scary and ferocious.

one exchange and her Staryu was knocked out, it was even cracking apart.
