Episode One: Welcome To The World Of Pokémon!

Author's note:

Ok, for those who know and read my other fanfic books, I know that I just got hit by a car, but this idea just popped into my head and I really want to write this, writing is my hobby and its boring here in the hospital, and my good friend and brother Tristan III wrote this while I told him what to write. Cuz you know, broken bones and all that.

Additional note:

Also before we begin, I would like to clarify that we are using Dragon ball Super Trunks, but his hair color will be the same as Dragon ball Z/GT. Because I liked the violet/lavender hair than blue. Only the hair though.

And remember when Trunks thought Mai died but didn't? Yeah, she died here in my lore. But the story, fight scenes etc. happened the same way in the story. With that out of the way, let's start this!

-------------

Trunks was in his time machine, trying to go back to his own timeline that Zeno destroyed and recreated. Trunks bade goodbye to his friends and family and thanked them for their assistance. Especially Goku and his father Vegeta and his mother Bulma.

This newly reformed world that he was going to be in would be the same but as Weiss, the Angel serving the God of Destruction Beerus said that he would not be remembered in this new world. Another version of him would be created in his place to replace him. To put it simply when Trunks came back, he would be treated and classified as a time anomaly.

One that existed before the destruction and rebirth of the old world. The one terrorized by Zamasu.

Trunks thought that he could blend in, despite the circumstances. Heck, he might even co exist with this new version of himself and the family like a twin.

As Trunks was feeling solemn and contemplating his situation, a black hole opened up during his time travel.

"Oh crap! What's going on!" Trunks exclaimed as he took the reins of the time machine and piloted it outside the black hole…to no avail.

The time machine was sucked in the portal.

Trunks braced himself for impact.

Trunks woke up, he got out of the time machine and saw what seems to be a small forest. He looks up and sees the sun almost at its peak. Meaning it is almost noon. He flew around and saw a meadow right outside of the small forest

After surveying his surroundings, he put his time machine in it's capsule form and puts it in his pocket. He tries to sense Ki, and senses the life signature of a few wild creatures, but nobody familiar. He also notices that the geography of this place is quite different. Something he doesn't recognize or finds familiar.

He flies around and sees a small town. He landed in the outskirts of said town. He glances around and sees…

"Is that a bird?" mumbled Trunks.

'But it looks…off.' Trunks thought as he observed the bird.

"Spearow!" cried the bird.

"D-Did that bird just talk? Trunks exclaimed.

Trunks then flies to the bird. The bird, being startled flies away but Trunks managed to catch on to it and grabs a hold of it.

"Spear-Spearow!" said the creature as it pecks on him.

"Hey little guy, what are you?" Trunks said at the creature as he lands to the ground.

Trunks studies the bird, it looks like a sparrow…but different.

'Fascinating…' Trunks thought as he lets go of the bird, letting it fly.

Unbeknownst to Trunks however, is that the little creature held a grudge and went back to Trunks and attacks him from above with a tackle.

This didn't end well.

The creature crashes onto Trunks, but the impact of its target's sturdiness knocks it out cold.

"Oh, what happened?" Trunks mumbled as he picks up the bird from the ground. He puts it inside his jacket's medium sized pocket. Just enough for the unconscious bird to fit.

He walks through the town and sees, regular houses with ordinary people. A few people saw him and didn't recognize him. Which garnered a few stares and gossips here and there especially since he is carrying a sword and looks out of place but the time traveler just ignored it.

He walks and walks until he comes across the exit of the town from the other side.

He was about to walk through the tall grass when…

"WAIT! HEY WAIT YOUNG MAN!" Yelled a middle aged man that has brownish hair and black eyes, wearing a lab coat.

Trunks looks behind him and sees the person run to him.

"Its not safe in the tall grass! Wild Pokémon live there!" the man said.

"A Pokewhat?" Trunks asked.

"Pokémon! You need Pokémon for your own protection before walking through the tall grass!" argued the man,

"No thanks, I'm good. I can handle a few wild animals." Trunks answered.

"Nonsense! Here! Come with me!" said the man as he grabs Trunks sleeve and walks.

"Hey, old man, its fine-hey wait a minute!" Trunks argued but didn't resist.

"Young man, I've seen a lot of kids these days get severely injured due to wild Pokémon! My girlfrie- I mean my friend's son got attacked by wild Spearows and was injured on his travels two weeks ago! I cannot let another person get hurt! Not under my watch!" debated the man.

Trunks sensing the man's sincerity just lets him be dragged. They walk for 5 minutes until they reach a fairly big house with a windmill.

"Here we! My lab!" said the man.

"Uh…I'm Trunks by the way. May I ask who you are?"

"Ah, where are my manners. I'm Samuel Oak. Just call me Professor Oak."

"Ok, so why bring me here?"

"As I have said, you need a Pokémon if you want to go outside of town. They can be quite dangerous and a bit hostile."

'So they do call animals here Pokémon. Interesting…' Trunks thought.

"Oh…I forgot. I already gave away all my Pokémon! And the last one was taken by Ash…" Oak mumbled.

"I guess we're gonna have to catch one for you young man." Oak said.

"Oh, no its fine! I'd hate to impose on you." Trunks said.

"Oh that's simply preposterous! Allow me to help! You want to become a proper Pokémon trainer don't you? What better way to become one than be helped by the Professor himself!" exclaimed Oak.

"What's a Pokémon trainer?" asked Trunks.

"Oh dear. I have to start there I guess." Said Oak.

"Okay, so the world is inhabited far and wide by creatures called Pokémon. For some people, Pokémon are treated as pets. Some use it for battling. As for myself, I study them as a profession." Oak explained.

"You said battling. Are we like using Pokémon, to like, make them fight?" asked Trunks.

"Yes, that is correct."

"So, we catch them, yes?"

"Mhm"

"And we either make them our pets or pit them against each other to fight?"

"That's it, yes."

"So we enslave Pokémon, make them do our bidding and turn their existence as playthings?"

"Goodness no!" Oak replied.

"We simply catch them to make them our friends. We take care of them and make them a bit more civilized or at least tame and non hostile. Pokémon have a certain level of intelligence after all. And besides, Pokémon battles are a form of sport, there are rules against violence." Oak clarified.

'So they essentially legalized dog fights. Whatever, it's not my place to question the societal norms of this place' thought Trunks.

"So, Trunks. I forgot to ask, where are you from? You don't seem from around here. And we rarely get tourists here, that isn't related to me and my studies." Oak asked.

"Oh, uh just dropping by with a relative's house. I was um…about to leave when you came across me" Trunks replied with an excuse.

"I see…now, I ran out of Pokémon to give but I can help you catch one. Let's look around the grass nearby the town." Proposed Oak as he gives him six red and white colored capsule like small balls.

"What are these?" asked Trunks.

"Those are called Pokéballs, they are capsules designed to capture Pokémon." Oak answered.

Trunks curiously presses the ball's button. The balls become bigger.

"Ah, after you activate and make them bigger, you throw them at the Pokémon to catch them." Oak tutored.

"Really? That easy?"

"Of course not! You have to weaken them first. By weakening them, you increase your chances of them being captured. You can deal them a bit of damage, or tire them out. You can also inflict status effects such as sleep, burn, paralysis or poison." Oak explained.

Trunks thinks and ponders for a while.

'Weaken them…does fainted count?'

Trunks then pulls out the creature in his pockets and nudges the ball on the bird, The bird is enveloped by a red light and is transported to in the ball.

The ball rocks sideways a total of three times before a yellow flash on the button appears.

"Uh, professor… I have a Pokémon now."

"Ha?"

"There was this unconscious bird, I pit it in my pocket and well…used the Pokéball on it. I think It is captured."

"W-well, I guess that's one way of catching one. Oddly enough. Come, give me the ball and I'll heal the Pokémon inside."

Trunks gives him the ball and Oak puts it above a machine.

*Ten Ten Tenenen* The machine produces such sounds and the ball rotates in its place.

Oak hands him back the ball and tells him to bring the Pokémon out and how to do it. The time traveler follows and the bird is let out.

Oak turns around and says "I have a spare Pokedex here somewhere" unbeknownst to him however, the bird pokemon attacks Trunks.

The bird flies and lunges at trunks trying to tackle him again. Trunks then just grabs the bird, stopping it in its attack. The Spearow is surprised at this. It is staring at the boy wide eyed.

"Guess your my Pokémon now. You fine with that?" Trunks asked, and the bird just nods slowly trying to process the strength of its owner. The bird then, just flies and sits on Trunks head.

The professor walks back in holding a device of some sort and a bag.

"Oh, would you look at that, you're already buddies! That's surprising, Spearows aren't mostly quick to warm up and only acknowledge strength. Seems you have done something to peaks it's interest." Oak said.

"Ahahaha, I guess"

"Now, here is a Pokémon Encyclopedia or Pokédex for short. Fortunately I have a spare one. And here, take it as a gift from me, a spare bag." Said Oak handing a brownish bag and the red Pokedex.

(The Pokedex from Season 1 of Pokémon and the level 1 bag from Pubg)

"Now, have you had lunch yet young man? Why don't you join me and my "friend" before you set out. Delia is a really good cook." Offered Oak.

"Is it fine? I hate to trouble you than I already have"

"Nonsense! We would love to have you."

"Alright Professor, I would bee glad to."

The two then reach a house that says Ketchum Residence.

"Here we are!" said Oak.

The two head inside.

Trunks watches the surroundings, it is quite a good house that has a homey look to it.

"Ah Professor Oak, you're here. And who is this young man?" a pretty middle aged lady asked.

"Uh, hello and good day my name is Trunks, Trunks Briefs I came here with Professor Oak"

"I see, I'm Delia, Delia Ketchum. Both of you come in, The food has just finished."

The two males sit on the table and Delia lays out the food.

The food consists of what Trunks assumes to be Chicken Soup and Rabbit Stew and some Orange Juice. Trunks thought it be better to not question what Pokémon was used in this food. Lest he regret it.

The three of them eat and have a casual conversation whilst doing so, Trunks Spearow was eating at the floor with them.

They eat normally with all of them asking each other some parts of their lives that aren't too personal. Delia talking about her son Ash, and his dream of becoming a Pokémon Master. Oak talked about the basics of a Pokémon Trainer. Trunks omitted some details to his circumstances when asked however. After lunch, Trunks offered to wash the dishes but is refused by Delia.

Oak and Trunks are now in the living room, lounging when he sees a photo of Ash and Delia.

"You and Delia are quite close, are you like dating or something?" Asked Trunks.

"W-we started to date a week ago." Answered Oak.

"And this kid, I assume who is Ash. The son of miss Delia and the Pokémon Trainer you mentioned earlier?"

"Yes, that is correct."

"You sly fox, sending the kid on a journey to get close to his mother…"

"N-no! We were already quite close before that. And Delia is already divorced for a few years now, so…"

"Hahahaha, don't worry, I wont judge. You guys do seem to get along." Said Trunks to which Oak just giggled at and scratches the back of his head.

"Well, I must be heading out now. Thank you for having me and tell the missus thank you for the food." Trunks bade farewell.

"Will do kid." Replied Oak.

Spearow then hops on Trunks head

'Hm…I should name you instead of calling you by your own species. Also, it's weird that Pokémon can only speak their names…' Trunks thought.

"Spearow… How about Jack? Like that one show, Pirates of the Caribbean. The main character's name was Jack Sparrow, and you're a Sparrow that is called Spearow. So I'll name you Jack!" Trunks said. To which the bird cawed his name in compliance.

'Speaking of birds…' said Trunks as he uses the Pokedex on Jack Curiously.

*Spearow, the Tiny Bird Pokémon*

* It busily flits around here and there. Even if it is frail, it can be a tough foe that uses MIRROR MOVE. It Eats bugs in grassy areas. It has to flap its short wings at high speed to stay airborne.*

The bird reminded him of how Android 16 loved birds and wild life…and his Family…and Mai...

'Sigh, welp I'm in this new world now. I know it wont be easy but I'll have to deal with it somehow. My father wont like me moping around. I didn't plan on being a Pokémon trainer but hey, it sounds fun! Even though it is morally questionable.' Trunks thought as he steps on the tall grass outside of Pallet Town, onto Route 1

This is the start of Trunk's new adventure, in a new world, with new friends.
