Chapter 6

Janelle hailed a cab to the cafe where Cassidy was already waiting for her.

Immediately they met each other, they reached for a bear hug,it was like they haven't seen for decades.

"Where have you been all this while?"Cassidy asked after they had settled down.

Janelle sighed helplessly"Just idle,i actually really in dire need of a job right now"Incase her mom asks her where she got the money from, she could proudly show her her work.

Cassidy could feel her pain"Is Mom still in the hospital?"She asked.

"Yes,i went to meet her today and she looks so much thinner than usual"A year slipped down from her eyes.

She couldn't get the image of her mom's frail figure lying on the bed weak, she wanted to do everything in her power to help her mom, she's the only one who had been there for her since everybody left her and that's why she doesn't mind selling herself.

She would do anything for her mother.

Cassidy held her hands"My boss is actually in need of an assistant, interview starts on Monday at 9 p.m. I could put in some good words for you"Janelle didn't know the right words to express her gratitude.

The same lie she had said to her Mom would turn out to be true afterall.

"Am so grateful,i could kiss you if not because you're a girl"Janelle said making Cassidy chuckle.

"What are friends for?, you always helped me whenever i was down. Now cheer up and let's go shopping,bill is on me"Cassidy said standing up.

"You're the best Cassie, you're like my sister, always cheering me up"Janelle was so happy that she started thinking about Janet.

She remembered a scene when Janelle and Janet were still in highschool,back then, Janelle had a crush on a guy but she was heartbroken when she saw her best friend kissing the guy.

She didn't speak to anybody and didn't let anybody near her,all she did was to cry and bawl her eyes out.

But Janet came inside"Elle, you've been there for hours, won't you come out and eat?"Janelle couldn't say no to her sister saccharine voice, she grumbles and stood up, opening the door for Janet.

"See how puffy your eyes are,you look like a sea witch... ptffff ... ptffff"Janet said with a small laugh.

"I have a surprise for you"Janet said dragging Janelle outside the house.

"Jane,come on,am really not feeling too good".

"You'll love it" Janet took her under a mango tree.

"Close your eyes"She said, Janelle sighed and closed her eyes.

Janet let her go and soon came out"You can open it now.

Janelle slowly opened her eyes and looked around the place, she was awe-struck, the mango tree was lit up in various colours,a new bike was right in her front,it was a purple bike that was beautifully decorated.

Janelle couldn't contain her tears"I saw you ogling at this motorcycle last week and bought it for you"Janelle hugged her sister so much that Janet feared that she might be choked to death.

Janelle couldn't contain her happiness,her twin sister was the best, always putting others before her needs.

Janelle knew that Janet had planned to buy something else with the money but had decided to cheer her up.

From that day, she had always cherished her sister more than anything in the world, she hates seeing her sister cry.

Janelle was known for being overprotective and too possessive of Janet that people said that she was a lesbian having feelings for her sister but Janelle couldn't care less.

She only cared for her sister.

Those memories brought Janelle into memory lane as she couldn't help but smile as tears falls from her eyes.

"Elle, Elle..."Janelle looked at Cassidy caring look.

"Sorry,i spaced out"

"No worries, now let's go"she dragged her out of the cafe to a mall.
