Book 1: Slaughter Daoist / Chapter 1 - System

Somewhere in the universe.

In the dark expanse of the universe, a high density of energy has spread into space. It only took a moment before it dispersed.

The universe has gone silent once more.

A void opened and a man has taken a step out of it.

A man that looked like in his 30's. Dressed in a silk robe, his long brown hair fluttered a bit. Opening his eyes, there a tint of red can be seen. Devilish eyes.

Yes, the man has that young but mature and piercing look.

His name is James Hausser.

And he has reached the pinnacle of this cultivation world... as he thought.

"Ah... at last, I finally reached the highest cultivation realm this universe has! Stage 3 of the Universal Realm!"

With a proud expression, James laughed for a few moments and then realized no one was beside him. No one to congratulate him.

"How sad... I cultivated for more than a million years just to reach this stage... the price that I must pay...*sigh*"

"So now... what should I do first... hmm..."

He thought of creating a new world or dominating this universe and recreating the lifestyle of earth, of course, within a much better way. In a cultivator way.

However, surprises seem to come his way as a sound only his ears had heard.

"Wha..."

[Ding! Host has reached the entrance realm towards the Multiverse Realm! Congratulations!]

[Activating Quests!]

"What the…"

"Are you a system!?"

He asked. A mechanical voice answered. [Yes host, I am a system that will help you go further in your cultivation road.]

As he heard this, he thought, "Are you kidding me!? I've been in this universe for so long and I am only getting a system now!?"

"Why only now!?"

[Ding! Host's mental condition is disordered! Finding solution….. *toooot toooot toooot*]

[Ding! Found the reason! Giving solution!]

[Ding! The host is confused of the system, explaining the system….]

"Ahh.. That's good then, please explain…" James closed his eyes and calmed his nerves.

[Ding! The host is a once a billion years talent and the system is not allowed to show unless the host reached the limit of the location of the host where he is born.]

[Ding! Host has reached the limit of the current universe's cultivation level and thus the system is now activated!]

After listening to the system, James shook his head in disappointment.

I'm talented? A billion years of talent? Is that why I get to level up so fast in my younger years? That explains why. So, I've been a cheat from the very start then? Adding a system to myself would've broken the balance of this universe?

Well, anyway, since the system's here now, what should I do next?

Oh wait, he said that there's another stage after the Universal Realm?

[Ding! The host is right, there's the next stage after Universal Realm and it is the Multiverse Realm!]

What? Is that true? Then, how strong Multiverse Realm is? If the Universal Realm can live countless times and control the essence of this universe, what more would it be for Multiverse Realm?

"So.. How do I level up then?" James asked

[Ding! Host will do quests to gather level-up points! Please choose the "Accept" button if you want to proceed with the system!]

When he heard the system and have him choose to accept the system or not, a virtual button appeared at his front floating. The box has the word "Accept" and another box appeared with the word "Deny"

And so, James thought deeply.

"Ahh.. Do I accept or not? I've been waiting for this system my entire life and only showed now when I got so strong already. Do I persist in this cultivation life? Another million years to cultivate to the next level?"

Don't I deserve some freaking vacation or something!?

Ah… never mind, I will not create another disaster for me to find a solution again. No. I'll not repeat the past mistake.

James focused his attention on the choices and then his left hand rose, then his finger tapped the "Accept" button.

The buttons disappeared and a sound can be heard again. The system.

[Ding! Host chose the "Accept" button and has accepted the system to guide the host to further his cultivation levels! Congratulations!]

"So, what's next?"

[Ding! The host will now be given quests to perform to gain a level up points!]

Ah.. level-up points, it's been so long since I heard that term in this stupid universe.

"So.. What quests? How many points will I earn?" James asked.

[Ding! Host has now started the System Level Up Guide! Commencing the start-up!]

After a few minutes.

[Ding! Host is now ONLINE! Generating interface!]

As James read his information, his eyes had gone open wide when he looked at the level-up requirement. Holy! 1 Billion points!? How can I reach that mileage?

When the mission details were provided, James thoroughly read it and… he was so shocked!

Discipleship! Why!? It's the most hated thing I wanted to do! Why!?

Then and there, he was again reminded of the past. A million years ago, James created a sect on a planet and had an abundance of disciples before until when his disciples reached their strongest cultivation levels, they rebelled and had gone greedy for his treasures.

They didn't know, their sect master that usually shows weak cultivation level was actually an Eternal Realm cultivator. After knowing James' level, they instantly regretted it.

James was also regretting it as well. He should've shown his prowess in the first place so that no one would dare to, but he wanted to test his disciples. He was so disappointed with himself and his disciples but since they committed treason to him, he has no choice but to kill them all.

All of his disciples and elders were traitors to the core.

And now, the past came back biting him again. Discipleship!

James then thought deeply. "Is there a way where I can get disciples even if they don't know their master?"

Hmm… This might be hard- oh wait!

James suddenly had a brilliant idea.

"System!" He blurted out.

[Ding! Yes host?]

"No! Not you! System! I got it! I can get disciples even if they don't know who I really am! I can recreate you!" James was full of energy when he said those words.

[Ding! Negative! Host is not a system and has a low level of cultivation as of moment.]

When James heard this, his eyebrows were slanting up. "I know alright! I mean I can imitate your freaking mission system! Okay! I got it now!"

And then James asked a question. "So, is there a time limit for the mission?"

[Ding! The host has no time limit as long as the host reached the appropriate points, the host will level up!]

Ahh.. so as long as I can live and earn those points, I have a chance to get to the next level? Right?

James ask himself.

[Ding! Host is right.]

Alright! I finally reached the last stage of Universal Realm, I got a system now and have a chance to get to the next level!
