Lost

The children had come to the resolution that they were going to go to the Angelic realm like Sarah had instructed to ask for help so they set the Jade relic on the floor and Alice who was the most talented amongst them cast the portal spell against the relic but nothing happened; she tried again and it was still the same so Peter had to try it out too but it yielded the same result.

"Why isn't the portal opening?" Claire asked.

"I have no idea, I did it according to Mom's instruction so I don't get why the portal isn't opening," Alice said.

"I think it's because we're confined to this room," Adrien said.

"What do you mean?" asked Peter.

"We should go to the roof, avoid being seen and try it again," Adrien said.

"It's risky but it's worth a try," Kylian said peeking through the window. The students hadn't been to the roof of the council building so no one could open a portal that would take them there so they all had to use the stairs as the elevators were down due to the blast from the hell-raiser. They made it to the top floor after about ten minutes of endless stairs; when they got there they all had to take squatting positions to avoid being seen by the demon soldiers who were on the deck of the ship monitoring movements in the building. Peter set the relic down again and Alice proceeded to cast the spell for the portal, she instinctively stood up to cast the spell but was immediately pulled down by Claire who was the closest to her.

"You'll be seen if you stand!" Claire whispered pulling Alice's hand, but at this point, it was too late because an eagle-eyed soldier had spotted her and notified the others. Alice retook her initial squatting position cast the spell against the relic and a dark shade of green appeared quite different from the blue color they were used to. Marie who was the first in line was about to go through the portal when a spell was shot at her from the ship but missed hitting the portal and immediately it did, the portal sucked all of them in including the pigeons strolling around and the pieces of debris lying around and it closed.

When the portal reopened it threw them out against the cold ground. The place was a little bright as the sun still held its position in the sky but was already setting. There were bushes around and tall trees all around them suggesting that they were probably in a forest.

"Where are we?" Marie asked.

"I think this is the Angelic realm," Claire said looking around in astonishment.

"And how can you even tell?" Kylian asked.

"Look at that," said Claire pointing at the sun. "The sun's setting in the north".

"You're right," Peter said. "The sun in the demon realm sets in the East and that of the human world sets in the west, so you're probably right".

"If she's right and we're in the Angel realm where are we?" Adrien asked.

"How should I know, I haven't been here before," said Peter as he began walking towards a tree that was close to them. He moved around the tree gently rubbing his hand on it and closely looking at it; he repeated the same actions for the other two trees near the first one like he was searching for something.

"What do you hope to find Peter?" Adrien asked.

"Markings of any sort," said, Peter. "When I was younger before the dark ones killed my mom we would go hiking in the woods and she would mark the trees along the way which we came with a small knife so we would know how to get back if we lost the compass or the map" he explained.

"So did you find any markings?" asked Claire.

"No I didn't but I see a path," Peter said. After they identified the path and they saw it wasn't trapped or dangerous they began walking through it they walked for about an hour and it started to get dark so Kylian, Claire, Marie, and Adrien pulled out their wand and muttered "lux" and their wands began to glow giving light to their immediate surroundings. They continued walking till they heard a growl in the distance and it seemed to be getting louder and the sounds of footsteps began to intensify which made the children very afraid. Peter and Alice weren't very much afraid because at that point they had seen so much that most things didn't frighten them anymore; they took a solid stand anticipating the incoming unknown with the rest of the team behind them. After a while, the noises stopped and the forest became quiet again but it all changed as the unknown creature jumped on Peter sending him flying into the ground; Alice bellowed "flammeum" but the flaming spear didn't do much harm to the unknown creature. They weren't able to make out what it was as it seemed to enjoy attacking and retreating.

"Illumina!" Alice bellowed lifting her left hand above her head and it lit up the whole surrounding exposing the looks of the creature who was standing close to a tree. It stood on two feet like a man and had two hands also it was very tall and large and had two large tusks sticking out from the sides of its face like a wild pig. It stood about seven feet tall and had mad piercing eyes. It lunged at Peter again but Alice struck it with a paralysis curse and it dodged leaving the curse to hit a tree. Kylian quickly used the restraining vine spell to strike it as it dodged Alice's attack and multiple vines came from beneath it and tied it to the tree it was standing in front of but the creature began to struggle and in no time it undid the vines binding him and clapped his hands creating a gust of wind blowing Kylian away into the bushes nearby. Claire tried the vine spell Kylian used but this time it dodged the attack and with great speed, it dashed towards Claire and grabbed her with its large hands pinning her against a tree as he squeezed her tiny body, but it didn't last long as Alice and Adrien swooped into action and with a spell, Adrien cut off the hand that pinned Claire to the tree and the creature let out a loud deafening cry and it grabbed a piece of rock and threw it at Adrien blasting him into the bushes while Alice enhanced his physical strength temporarily and threw herself at the creature knocking it down. Marie who at this point was hiding behind some shrubs gathered courage and got up, she waved her wand and bellowed "Spina vites!" while she shook terribly and vines came from the ground where the creature was sitting after Alice had knocked him down and tied it's neck and tied it's stomach tightly to the ground and in a while, the spikes began to come out but they weren't very big like they should've been so it did only minimal damage to the creature. Alice ran closer to the creature and with a loud cry she shouted;

"Neco!" and a bright red light appeared from her hand and in a flash, it flew over to the creature and on contact, the creature died instantly. After she used the curse she fell to her knees as it was the first time she used the instant killing spell; it was a curse that was rarely used throughout the magic world because of its high strength reduction rate. If it's used three times consecutively the user's body begins to automatically slow down and after a while, it goes into shock, and if the body isn't a strong one majority of the time the user dies while on other occasions they're unable to do magic for long periods. Peter got up and went over to help Alice get to her feet, Marie helped Adrien who was laying unconscious in some bushes, and Kylian too who crashed against a tree. They set up camp that night in the area they had defeated the creature and waited till morning. They had all slept except for Peter who was awake throughout the night, he wanted to sleep too but he kept on hearing voices anytime he rested his head and closed his eyes almost like it was preventing him from sleeping so he could keep watch. As Peter rested his back against a tree he fell into a subconscious trance; he was wide awake and aware of his surroundings, with Alice laying next to him on a mattress Marie and Claire conjured, Kylian and Adrien were sleeping side by side to each other just across from him and Marie and Claire were on his other side. As he stared into the darkness he didn't see the darkness but he saw a fire that normally wasn't there with the flames becoming brighter the more he stared into it; after a while, the flame began to form shapes and those shapes began to move and on closer look and concentration he was able to make out Sarah and Melissa who were safe but in the midst of the enemy after a while, their images cleared and what followed was the image of the Demon Lord Vermont who sat on his throne as his chin rested on his hand, as Peter continued looking at the image Vermont got up and began moving closer and closer until Peter could now only just see his face and he said "I see you" and laughed just then Peter snapped out of the trance and when he got hold of himself, he was already sweating profusely with his hands trembling.

The morning had come and they were all awake. When they looked around they couldn't find Peter and immediately Alice began to panic she hurriedly got up and rushed along the path they were walking on the previous night to see if she'd find Peter but before she could go further she saw Peter coming down the hill just beside the path holding two rabbits in his hands.

"What are those?" Alice asked.

"Breakfast," responded Peter. He threw the rabbits on the ground next to the fire and he said "I hope you guys know how to eat roasted rabbit" said Peter, laughing.

"I used to see this on the documentary channel when I would go visit my nomag aunt in Marseille," Claire said smiling.

"I haven't eaten one of those before, but if you can make it I'll give it a try," Adrien said.

"What about you guys," said Peter referring to Alice, Marie, and Kylian.

"Not like we got an option," Kylian said.

"I think I'm going to be sick," Marie said as she ran into the nearby bush to throw up.

"It isn't that bad trust me," said Peter laughing at Marie. Peter proceeded to cook both rabbits and it was delicious, Marie who seemed disgusted at first took no prisoners as she greedily ate the piece she was given and smacked Adrien's head trying to bully him into giving her his piece. After they were done they rested for a while and continued their journey along the path.
