The Demon Lord Vermont and the rest of the Castle waited patiently for news from the spies, and after five long months, they finally got the signal. They tried creating the Portal to the human world but they were nullified; it was still the same as it had been for the past five months.

"Egenon!" the Demon Lord called out in anger. Egenon was the commander in charge of assembling the demon army in preparation for the invasion.

"My Lord, you called for me," he said.

"Why are the access points still down despite the signal from my spies?" the Demon Lord asked.

"My Lord I do not have an answer, even I, am confused about the whole situation". Egenon responded.

"I'm sure they wouldn't have been able to send a signal without an open access point," Blaron said. (the head of the order of Priests).

"Then I want the scouts to go out and locate the smallest sign of an access point or I'll have your head Egenon!" The Demon Lord yelled as he walked out of the throne room through the door at the West side of the room and into his chambers.

The scouts picked up the compass-like device like the one the three spies had and they began to look for signals, they searched for hours on end and couldn't find anything till that very night, the scouts who were on night duty noticed the pointers on the device slowly turning back and forth as they approached the forest of gold. Shortly after they reached the mouth of the forest, they noticed the pointers spinning haphazardly just then they knew they had found the access point. They put a stake in the ground signifying the position of the point and went back to their camp to notify Egenon.

"We've found the access point my lord," the leader of the party said.

"Very well then, we must report back to the castle immediately and ready our forces for deployment," Egenon said greedily drinking dragon brew from his large cup. Egenon and his scouts got to the castle the following morning and after a brief discussion with Vermont, they gathered their troops numbering over 1000 soldiers having 400 swordsmen and 600 sorcerers along with Blaron and a few other Priests from the order. On getting to the access point they tried creating a portal but it closed shortly after it was opened; they tried for a couple of hours but it was still the same result.

"I think there's a restriction with the portal," said Blaron.

"What do you mean?" Egenon asked.

"The portal opens and closes shortly after, I'm guessing it's sensing a large number of people we have so it just closes, it might be an enchantment the humans are using," Blaron said.

"If that's the case we'll just have to go in smaller factions," said Egenon "I'll select some soldiers and mages, and tomorrow they'll mount the first attack".

"Very well then, but we must make this quick; he isn't the type to be patient," Blaron said.

Sarah had already informed the school about the recent development which drove the students into a panic. All the students were scared especially the first and second years as they hadn't seen any action before. Peter was terrified because the thought of facing the Demon Lord constantly played on his mind, he remembered the last time he faced him and the kind of power the Demon Lord was emitting and it terrified him the more.

"Cold feet?" Claire asked.

"No no I'm ok" replied Peter.

"It's ok to be scared Peter, especially you; you have something of high value to him and he's going to come after you with everything he has," Claire said, "but what you should understand is you're not alone in this, we're all here with you".

"Thanks so much for being here," Peter said hugging Claire. Alice who was about to go meet Peter saw the both of them from the door and she refrained from entering the living room of the cottage, it hurt her that she wasn't the one who hugged him and assured him everything was going to be alright; she just stood outside with her back against the outer walls of the cottage crying. Shortly after she left for the school building and on her way she saw Adrien and ran over to hug him.

"Are you ok?" asked Adrien.

"I don't even know," said Alice crying

"The whole class needs you right now, we're all relying on you; you need to be strong for them," Adrien said subtly wiping the tears off her cheeks with both his thumbs.

"I'm glad you're here," Alice said.

"There's no other place I'd love to be," Adrien said "but literally speaking there's no other place I'd love to be but by your side being protected by you" and they both shared a laugh which made Alice feel a little more relaxed.

The council chairman Mr. Deschampps contacted the International magic council requesting soldiers but they wouldn't respond to the mails he sent. He was in so much distress and he didn't know what he was going to do next; the fighting men he had on the ground weren't going to be enough to take on an army of the Demon Lord's men so he resulted to sending magic mails to the neighboring countries; he contacted the magic council in Belgium but they didn't respond, it turned out that the international magic council had used a barrier and blocked off the magic world in France from the rest of the world leaving them isolated. The school had to set up a chamber of protection for the younger students inside the school while the rest of them prepared to defend the school against the incoming onslaught. Melissa, Alice, and Adrien went over to the council building in Paris to assist in the event the attack started from there. The town was awfully quiet with most people inside their houses in fear, they were warned by the council chairman not to come outside no matter what happened, a few soldiers mounted the access point to the nomag world while a few others protected the council building. The sun was starting to disappear out of sight when the air started to become cooler, the soldiers braced themselves as they knew what the sign meant; a sharp sizzling sound filled the streets and a portal appeared just a few meters away from the nomag world access point and for a second there was a deep silence until it was broken by the clanking of armor and a loud battle cry followed by demon soldiers with swords coming from the portal and engaging the human soldiers on the ground. The clashing sounds of swords filled the air and it lasted for a couple of minutes till human sorcerers appeared, and with their spells, they quickly struck down the demon swordsmen with curses killing them.

"I think we can win this!" a soldier shouted.

"Focus! the danger hasn't been averted" yelled another soldier wielding his sword in his hand facing the portal. For a moment it seemed like the humans were gaining the upper hand against the demon attackers until spells began to fly out from the portal striking the soldiers who were near the portal down; it was followed by six demon mages trooping out one after the other and as they emerged they were met with strong resistance. The human sorcerers who were still standing fought hard using non-stop curses against their opponents even though it drained them faster than using spells; it was this disadvantage the demon mages used against them; the demon mages quickly formed a barrier that required a strong attack to break and the human sorcerers foolishly fell for the plot, they combined spells and blasted the barrier shattering it but leaving them handicapped because they weren't able to immediately conjure any spells leaving their defenses open. The demon mages weren't kind enough to let them escape and they struck every one of the human sorcerers down with curses killing them as the wind blew their wands to the street corners; the human soldiers who were still alive ran back down the street heading for the council building but they weren't fast enough and they met their demise by the hand of a witch that teleported just right in front of them and cursed them.

"What's the situation outside?" Mr. Deschampps asked.

"It isn't very good, they've defeated all the troops stationed outside and they're heading for the building" Alice who was watching from the window said.

"I'm going to have to stop them before they get to the building," Melissa said.

"Be careful aunt" Alice said hugging Melissa tightly after which she left the building. She came out of the building and ran towards the incoming enemy and when she had them in sight she stopped.

"You're a demon, so why do you side with these humans" a demon witch who went by the name Brilda said.

"I don't know what the Demon Lord told you that got you to break long-standing peace but I do know it's bullocks!" Melissa responded.

"It doesn't matter what we want, the orders of the Demon Lord are absolute," said Brilda as her hand lit red preparing a curse to strike Melissa.

"Then I hope you don't mind dying!" Melissa said as she quickly struck Brilda with a temporal paralysis spell leaving her immobile. A couple of mages and soldiers ten in number arrived where Melissa was and they began to duel, she blocked, deflected, and reflected spells and fought the mages off on her own; the soldiers couldn't even come close because the few who attempted to strike her with their sword were fried by her fiery Dragon curse. As the fight continued more mages and soldiers began to arrive and all together they numbered 50, Melissa who was still fighting them became weaker and couldn't reflect the curses and spells that were being hurled at her; she was only able to block them and use weak spells. Just then Alice and Adrien accompanied by Madame Grace and Mrs. Delphine came in to support and they continued the fight as Adrien helped the already weakened Melissa back to the council building. Madame Grace despite being human was very gifted and creative with spells, she regularly didn't use curses as she didn't have the strength to do so but the spells she used were Pivotal in defeating the first wave of Demon attacks.

"Oribulla!" Madame Grace bellowed and a large bubble entrapped seven soldiers and with a curse, Alice blasted the bubble killing them. Mrs. Delphine stood behind Alice and Madame Grace covering them with a protective barrier that still allowed them to use spells; it was a spell invented by her grandmother and passed down to her and could only be used by her. The spell Mrs. Delphine used made it impossible for the demon mages who were still standing to land a single blow on them which made them retreat but before they could get to the portal Mrs. Delphine dropped the barrier and with the flaming spear curse she struck one of them down leaving the other two to escape.

"The portal is gone," Adrien said.

"It seems because of the Inter-dimensional barrier they couldn't create a portal strong enough to bring all their forces," Mr. Deschampps said.

"We were lucky today," Melissa said. "If they could open a portal even though a weak one then over time they'll be able to create one strong enough to bring a large army".

"And hopefully we'll be ready when they come," Alice said. After the ordeal, Alice, Melissa, and Adrien went back to the school and explained all that happened to the students and staff.

"I'm so glad you're all safe," Sarah said hugging Alice and Melissa.

"I'm glad you're ok," Peter said as he went over to hug Alice. She was happy for a brief moment till she saw Claire who also came to give her a hug after which they left for the cottage
