A Conspiracy

The members of the council and every other person in the magic world in France were on high alert because of the fear of uncertainty. They didn't know when the barrier would collapse, even though naturally it wasn't possible they were still very terrified at the power the demon realm held. The shores of Normandy were flooding with soldiers who kept watch day and night because Normandy was the natural connection to both worlds and anybody coming from the demon realm would have to go through Normandy. There was massive pressure on the council chairman Mr. Deschampps from the different councils of the world, magic mails kept coming asking him about the situation at his end but for the past five months since the attacks at the beach it was still the same response "there has been no new development", but they were still on their toes living in fear of being attacked everyday.

A meeting was called at the England Headquarters of magic to discuss the situation of things and the fate of the human world and presiding over the meeting was Mr. George Campbell the head of the international magic council.

"Mr. Deschampps, as we all know the would-be invasion happened in Normandy five months ago. Now we would like to know if we should be expecting another attack" Mr. Campbell asked.

"I do strongly believe we're still at risk of another invasion. The barrier as we all know cannot be broken down but we still don't know the capabilities of the demon realm and I advise we do not take it lightly" Mr. Deschampps said.

"It's been five months, and resources are being used in defending the shores of Normandy, If they wanted to stage another attack I believe they would've done so and besides the barrier is impenetrable," Mr. Campbell said.

"If I were you sir I would not underestimate the threat the demon realm poses, as you know they're the most powerful realm amongst the three and the reason we even have a fighting chance is that a human boy who possesses the former Demon Lord's power and three women from the demon realm decide to side with us so realistically speaking we don't have much of an option but to secure Normandy," Mr. Deschampps said angrily and waltz out of the meeting chamber. After the meeting, the chamber of council chairmen decided unanimously that the danger from the demon realm had been averted and there was no need for resources to be wasted on the shores of Normandy, so they pulled back their forces.

Mr. Deschampps was devasted at their decision because he would suffer the most loss if there was an attack, so a meeting was held to decide their next line of action.

"The international council has decided to pull out their forces from the shores of Normandy thereby leaving us handicapped if we were to be attacked and at this point, I honestly don't know what to do," Mr. Deschampps said.

"It's a long shot but why don't we block off access to the nomags so that if we get invaded the portal directly opens to our world," Madame Grace said.

"We could minimize damage and be able to use magic without also trying to defend the nomags. it's a brilliant idea" Mr. Deschampps said.

"But blocking access to the nomags worldwide goes against the laws of the international magic council," Mrs. Delphine said.

"I could care less what they think, they've left us with no option but to act in this manner," Mr. Deschampps said. After they blocked the access between the nomags and the magic world the international magic council rose in anger and made threats against the magic council in France. They were summoned to meetings in England but Mr. Deschampps didn't oblige, they tried undoing the blockage but it didn't work because Sarah had used a temporary binding spell on the blockage making it impossible for any other magic council to alter it. Despite the decision being in the favour of the human world, some people weren't very happy with it, two people, in particular, Nicholas Armand and Victor Booneville. They hated the nomags and wanted the cleansing of every single one of them, their hate for them was so bad that they occasionally orchestrated kidnappings and subjected them to torture and eventually killed them. Nicholas and Victor were enraged at the decision to block off access to the human world so they hatched a plan to break the spell. On Thursday morning of that very week, the decision to retract the soldiers from Normandy was made and the decision of the magic council in France to block off access to the nomags was also made; Nicholas and Victor managed to make their way into the council building disguised as staff. They split so they could cover more ground in finding the local access control room. Nicholas walked unsuspiciously with confidence like he had been practicing for the moment all his life; he made his way to the hallway of the third floor of the building and as he walked he sighted a door with the inscription "local access control room" and he instantly gleamed with fulfillment. Nicholas quickly made his way to the first floor aided by the elevator to find and inform Victor that he had found the room, but he looked everywhere and couldn't find him; he took the elevator past the third floor he was previously into the fourth floor and he alighted the elevator. He walked through the hallway down to a door that lead to the files and records room, but as he was getting to the door a blue light shone on his face and it caught his attention; he looked to the left and saw that the light was coming from the room that had it's doors slightly opened and his curiosity got the better of him. He approached the door and put his head through the opening without pushing it further so he could take a peek and to his surprise he saw Victor carelessly scrambling across a machine, he brought his head back out from the room and took a sharp look at what the inscription on the door said and it read "Inter-dimensional access control room" it was then he rushed into the room and shut the door behind him, as he rushed in he stumbled on the body of the staff in charge of the room.

"You killed him?" Nicholas asked in surprise.

"There's no need to worry he's just stunned, he'll be fine" Victor answered.

"What are you doing?" Nicholas asked.

"The spell on this device seems complicated but it seems I've cracked it, I just dropped the barrier to the demon realm," Victor said.

"You stu...., do you know what you've just done?" Nicholas asked angrily.

"We'll get to see more of that filthy nomags die when the Demon Lord arrives with his army, isn't that what we've always wanted?" Victor retorted.

"I know, but for that to even happen the local access barrier must also be dropped so when he comes he'll have immediate access to the world of the nomags too you dumbo!" Nicholas said angrily as he pulled his hair in frustration.

"Well it isn't too late, we can always go drop the local access barrier," Victor said after which they killed the staff and left for the third floor. They got into the local access room undetected and surprisingly they didn't see any personnel manning the device; they pulled out their wands and attempted to use the release spell to undo the spell Sarah set but it backfired, the whole building began to resound with the deafening sound of an alarm and before Nicholas and Victor knew what was happening the room was quickly filled with soldiers. They attempted to fight their way through the guards and would've succeeded but the numbers were against them, they were outnumbered fifteen to two so after a couple of minutes of futile struggle, the soldiers subdued them and took them to the cell in the basement of the building.

Meanwhile, the three spies from the demon realm who closely monitored the in and out of people from the magic world killed a woman who worked in the council building just as she opened the portal at the access point to the magic world in Paris and lived quietly as they observed the council building. On the day Nicholas and Victor attempted to break the spell they were in disguise just outside the council building posing as newspaper vendors. They waited patiently for hours as they staked out the council building; fortunately for them, the alarm went off and notified the whole building that Intruders were in the local access room, on hearing the news they quickly pulled out a device that was used in checking for accessibility between realms, it looked like a compass and the two pointers spins haphazardly when it catches a signal from the demon realm which was only possible if the barrier was down. The three spies left from where they set up their newspaper stands and quickly headed back to their hideout. Since the local access to the world of the nomags was blocked they headed for the point their device showed them; it was the place where the connection to the demon realm was strongest but they couldn't create a portal to go back so they quickly cast a spell that would nullify the effect of the Inter-dimensional barrier on that spot when it came back on leaving a little spot large enough for demon foot soldiers to come through when the time was right.

Sarah was brought in to identify if the two criminals caught at the council building were demons but after close observation and the use of different un-cloaking spells, she confirmed they weren't demons but humans.

"Why did you guys open the access to the demon realm despite knowing the dangers," Mr. Deschampps asked.

"So he can come to cleanse this world from the filth of those nomags," Victor said laughing hysterically and using his cuffed hands to scratch his face in the most ferocious manner leaving his face covered in blood.

"He'll come and rid us of the pollution that crawls on the other side of this barrier," Nicholas said calmly but his eyes that showed through his scruffy long hair dangling over his face were piercing like that of a monster's.

"Chairman, the barrier was open for fifteen minutes before it was closed. Although it doesn't seem like a long time I believe the Demon Lord has taken advantage of this and probably deployed troops to spot an opening in the barrier" Sarah said. "So I'd advise you notify the international magic council about this new development and you set up soldiers to block every potential access to the demon realm here in France.

"I will do just that. Notify the students at the school and I'll send a warning to everyone in France to prepare their wands, war is coming".
