Tasty Chicken?

Lifting her up "princess style", Liam walked towards his car with Cordae in his arms. "How on earth are you so heavy?" he muttered to himself.

"I-i am not heavy!!" Cordae spat back. "I'm just quite uh... "

"Okay that's enough. I never said you could say anything. Don't talk to me, don't even stare at me. Just sit here quietly and wait till I get back. Okay, fatso?" Liam said cutting her words short. He opened the door of his car and laid her down gently on the back seat.

'F-fatso?!! I'm not even that fat!" she said to herself and pouted her lips. Folding her hands and looking away from his direction, she whispered a "thank you" right underneath her breath, which he happened to hear.

"Tch" he smirked, slightly exposing his perfect dentition. He left right after with a cheque book in his left hand.

Cordae watched all that transpired between Liam and the thugs through the windscreen. She saw him write something into his cheque book and saw the man who almost hit her collect the piece of paper from Liam's hand. She couldn't help but wonder what would've happened to her if he hadn't shown up.

"Who am I kidding? One thing is sure, if he hadn't shown up, I would've died , ha-ha" she said and laughed it off with the intent of lightening her mood. She was scared to death but didn't want it to show; at least not here and most definitely not in a stranger's car.

"Rightttttt!! The stranger!" She had almost forgotten that the person who helped her back then was an unknown person. She sat upright and looked towards their direction. She saw that they were having a conversation, but couldn't fathom what they were discussing as she couldn't hear them, neither was she a lipreader.

'What if he's no better?'

'Wait, what if he's with them and this is equally a plan to get me?'

'Oh God, who is this person and why did he help me? It's quite obvious that "good samaritans" don't exist anymore, so then...'

She couldn't help herself as thoughts ran haywire in her head. Using both hands to pull on her hair, she shaked her head twice as if trying to eliminate such thoughts from her head. "He saved me, that's all that really matters." she heaved a sigh and finally disregarded such thoughts. Her whole body ached and she really needed to get home. She was already tired and didn't want to spend another second in a place that wasn't her sweet, comfortable, bedroom. Cordae leaned in and rested her head on the car's glass and shut her eyes. Inasmuch as she didn't want to think about everything that happened few minutes back, she couldn't help herself as her mind drifted back.

While lost in her very own thoughts;

Baaannngggggg!

The sound of the door jolted her back to her reality.

"Ahh!" she held her head and winced in pain, as the effect from the force with which Liam closed the door affected her head badly, and caused her head to ache more.

"Okay, they're gone now. You can leave."

"Thank you so much sir, thank you, I really do appreciate everything. I promise I'll pay back when I can sir, Promise. Oh and by the way, my name is Cor-"

"I don't remember asking what your name was." Liam said, cutting her short. Looking closely at her and scrutinizing everything she had on, he noticed her t-shirt which had the name of her workplace written boldly towards the area of her left breast.

"Tasty chicken?" He said out loud.

Cordae quickly made an "X" with both her hands, as an act of reflex, as though creating a cage for her boobs.

"Y-yes sir..." She replied while giving him a 'what the hell are you trying to do' gaze.

Liam laughed at her innocence. He stared at her for a minute straight but didn't say a word. For some reason, his deadly, cold eyes was replaced with an odd, calm blankness. Cordae couldn't decipher why he was staring at her like she did something wrong. She had promised to pay back, so then why was he staring at her like she stole something?

Liam stared at her for an extra two whole minutes. His gaze was so intense, as if he was trying to peer into her future. He continued to gaze with probing intensity into her eyes and almost immediately, a soft, enchanting chuckle left his lips.

He leaned in on her, not breaking their eye contact whatsoever. She could feel his breath all over her face.

Liam studied her face; pug nose, red cherry-like lips, and every contour he could record into his visual based memory.

Slowly, the scent of the person hovering over her wafted into her nostrils. He smelt like fresh mint. She shut her eyes as she tried to inhale the very last scent of his seductive cologne. The more she inhaled, the more she shut her eyes even tighter as if in ecstasy.

'Okay this is starting to get creepy, I'm out!' Cordae said to herself after finally opening her eyes. Planning her escape in her head, she leaned with her back towards the car and tried opening the door without facing it, just to avoid drawing his attention to her and what she was planning.

"What did you say your name was?" he finally asked, breaking the awkward silence.

"Huh? Oh, I'm Cor-" She was cut short, again, as the door to the driver's seat flug open.

'Even the universe doesn't want him to know my name. Way to go!!' She yelled mentally.

"I am so sorry Liam, I had to go get an important paper I left at the office, I'm sorry for having kept you wait..." He said and stopped midway as soon as he noticed an unfamiliar presence.

"Who is she"? Adrian asked, looking closely at Liam for an answer.

"I don't know. I think she works at that chicken place. Uh what was it again..." He asked snapping his fingers as though trying to recall.

"Tasty chicken" she butted in.

"Right. Let's go there".
