Personal Taste

[WARNING: MATURE CONTENT] "What if everything went exactly as we wanted it to? But then, if everything in life went as planned, what fun would that be?" _____ Pretty, chubby, and innocent 23-year-old Cordae has always dreamt of living a stress-free, long life. Creating a beautiful life for herself has been her ultimate goal, but it turns out that even a "beautiful life" is as expensive as anything else in this world, as she can't even afford a beautiful life as well as a long one. Cordae is terminally ill and is sure to die anytime soon. But regardless of that fact, she's determined to fulfill her dreams of making a beautiful life for herself, even if it's just for a little while. She's equally hell-bent on wanting to know what "loving someone romantically" feels like and is resolute in her determination to experience such. Her life suddenly takes a surprising turn as she crosses paths with Liam Xander; a 28-year-old, cold-hearted, business tycoon who grew up with the mentality that "love" is nothing but a word that comprises of four letters. But that made him the one for Cordae. Liam perfectly fits the description of whom she wants, as she doesn't actually want anyone to fall for her or anything of that sort; all thanks to the fear of leaving them all alone when she eventually dies, but wants to love someone romantically in order to at least, fulfill one of her numerous dreams. Their totally distinct worlds collide. The mysteries surrounding Liam will slowly be uncovered. Will Cordae be able to handle whatever Liam throws at her? Will Liam be able to see that "love" isn't just a 4-lettered-word? Will they be able to overcome whatever comes their way? ↡ ↡ ↡ ↡ ↡ PS - Cover photo NOT mine. Photo credits to the rightful owner.

Fatso.

Cordae tried as much as possible to avoid any form of contact with the weird mister beside her; eye contact, physical contact, every form of contact!

Luck seemed to be on her side as Liam didn't spare her a glance, neither did Adrian utter a single word. Everyone seemed to mind their business, and that was just right for her because heaven, and even hell, knew that she didn't know what exactly to say if anyone had asked her anything, neither would she be able to hold herself if the pretty, weird person sitting right next to her decides to hover all over her once again.

Her mind drifted back to few minutes ago. The way he carefully structured the questions he asked her, the way he looked at her, his voice and even the way he smelt. There was something about his cologne; something that was enough to drive her totally insane.

"Oh God, what am I doing?" she asked herself immediately she realized how far her thoughts were taking her. She shook her head twice and took a deep breath. She really needed to get home quick, as she wasn't understanding anything anymore. Thanking God for the fact that Liam didn't ask any further questions or talk to her, she carried on with enjoying the view of nature.

The window seat had always been her favorite ever since she was a kid. She's always loved the feeling of the wind in her hair. It had a spectacular way of soothing her. The wind on her skin gives her the feeling that she's in an ocean; an invisible one of exultation. Whenever the wind grazes her skin, she feels alive again almost immediately.

Her mom was a fan of nature and that made Cordae see the beauty it has to offer. From the trees, to the flowers, to the moon and even the rain! Cordae grew a lot more fond of nature after her mom died. Appreciating nature's beauty made it feel as though her mom was around. And right now, after all that happened, she needed her mom more than ever.

Leaning in on the car's window, she let nature have its way with her as she fell into a somewhat deep sleep.

The never ending trip to Tasty chicken seemed to finally come to an end. Turning to his right, he saw the lady seated right next to him, her hair was all messed up as a result of the effect the wind had on it. Her hair was all in her face which gave her this "goddess-like" look. He couldn't help himself, the least he could do was to feast his eyes. Beautiful. Sexy. Glorious. Liam couldn't seem to decide the adjective to qualify how she was looking at that very moment. "How exactly did she manage to look this pretty even after all that happened?".

"Okay, we've arriv-". Adrian yelled as he turned backwards but stopped midway. "What the actual fuck! She fell asleep?"

Next second, Adrian's laughter enveloped the whole car. He laughed so hard that his sides began to hurt.

"It's one thing to ride in an unknown person's car, it's another to fall asleep in it" he said out loud this time and laughed even more.

Liam signaled him to shut up, as he noticed slight movements from her.

Her lashes fluttered as she slowly opened her heavy eyelids. She yawned as she stretched both hands out wide. Folding her hands into a fist, she rubbed her eyes. Her head seemed to ache a little less than it did minutes back.

"Look, you woke her up". Cordae could hear a voice say. She could detect from his voice that he wasn't too serious. Something about the voice calmed her a whole lot that she decided to sleep a little bit more.

But then it hit her; that wasn't her dad's voice.

'Huh? Who on earth would be in my room at this hour?'

She quickly opened her eyes but shut it again almost immediately. She winced in pain as the light hurt her eyes. Gradually opening her eyes, she made sure they adjusted to the light this time.

"What- what exactly are you doing in here?" she managed to ask lazily. The last thing she needed was someone interrupting the rest she clearly needed and deserved.

What the hell?

Did she really just-

"You really do have some guts, Fatso. How could you sleep peacefully in a random person's car? Not just any stranger's car, MY car?"
