Monster summoning

(-April 7, 2061/ 7:43 AM/ Current location: Demon King's Guild-)

The horrific scene of 4 people ruthlessly murdered without remorse sent shivers down the spine. The Demon country that has 3 billion Demons living in it.

None of them interfered. Not a single one

At rank 900 or below, laws and the knights of the country can't do anything against them.

Anyone ranked higher than them will be their servants. Those who refused are as good as dead.

The Demon king made it crystal clear back in ancient times.

[Muto: Well?]

Lepage speaks in a shivered tone.

[Lepage: The Balzac Household is willing to accept you as their bodyguard. Your quest will start on April 10. If you have time, you can accept another quest.]

[Muto: Alright. Before I take another quest, may I ask a question?]

[Lepage: What is it?]

[Muto: Can the guild rid these bodies?]

[Lepage: Yes.]

[Muto: Then I'll leave it to you.]

Muto walks away to the quest board to find another quest.

He saw an eye-catching one.

The flyer said: "Slay a Kirin at the center of the Demon King's Forest (S+). Reward: 1000 Gold coins".

"Kirin". The second-largest and ancient lightning type Monster that still exists. Kirins are often seen in High areas like Mountains or Plateaus. Today there are 67 sightings of it, most of them are still waiting to be found.

Muto said to his mind.

I'll be visiting that Hell again. I did not explore much of it but my heart is telling me that I have to go back to that forest. Something is in there, something powerful.

[Muto: Kirin? How strong exactly are you?]

He pulls out the flyer off the quest board and gives it to Lepage.

[Lepage: Why this?]

[Muto: It's a high-paying quest and it's better to get first than be the last one.]

[Lepage: If you say so.]

Lepage stamps the flyer. She then goes to the quest board to paste it back.

[Muto: Why did you do that?]

[Lepage: It's for everyone to know that this quest is taken.]

[Muto: Now I understand.]

Muto goes out of the Guild and departs on a journey to kill a Kirin.

All of the hunters inside let out their held breath.

(-April 7, 2061/ 7:33 AM/ Current location: Trauzagaien University-)

They are all humans. The girl they're fawning over is from an Elven race so how did they hear me?

Rowan walked up to Mordred and told him.

[Rowan: Do you mind saying that again?]

I'm a sucker for this kind of situation. These events are a rare occurrence.

Father Charles said that I need to make connections but he didn't specify which ones.

[Mordred: Swindler.]

Rowan spoke in an angered tone.

[Rowan: You dare insult Lady Shane?]

[Raiden: Do you mind backing off? We're not even bothering your group.]

[Rowan: I just can't ignore people who insult her. So tell me this, are you looking for a fight? Even if you are stronger than me, I'll find a way to beat you.]

[Mordred: You're pretty basic.]

Vincent intervenes to stop the quarrel.

[Vincent: Now, now. I'm sure it was just a mistake that he made. We can't punish him for a mistake.]

[Mordred: No. I meant it. All of it.]

[Vincent: You!]

Vincent is building up rage. So does Arvel, Moores, and Rowan.

The door opens and the teacher enters.

[Teacher: Homeroom is about to start. Go back to your seats and behave.]

And so they did.

[Teacher: After recess, all of you will go to the summoning room to receive your familiars. After that, all of you will go to the field to examine your magic. That is all.]

An examination?

[Anna: I guess it's for assuring credibility and exhibition of skills.]

I see. I better show off to get their attention.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

(-10:30 AM/ Current location: Summoning room-)

[Muto: So this is a summoning room.]

A very large room is full of talismans, anti-monster artillery, and a magic circle at the center.

[Anna: I never tried using a summoning spell before. Why do they need artillery and talismans?]

[Raiden: It's simple. The talismans work as a binding agent that prevents your summons from moving and the cannons are there to stop a summons that refuses to obey the summoner's orders.]

[Mordred: You have to communicate with your summoner via telepathy or just plain old speaking.]

I've never tried summoning either but Teacher Anastasia did tell me that making a pact with a summon is like making a deal with the Devil. It has conditions, tests, and other forms of a trial to make your summon make a pact.

The advisor calls our names one by one in random order.

[Advisor: Shane Agnew, please step in front and perform your summon.]

Shane goes in front and places her hand on the magic circle. It started to glow brightly and the mana in the air started to collapse to one another to create

A small Pink Fairy.

[Shane: Oh my, how cute you are. Will you be willing to make a pact with me?]

The small Fairy nodded.

[Shane: Thank you.]

The Advisor grades her summon.

[Advisor: A D-grade summon. Not much but it will do. Next is Arvel Realonda.]

Arvel steps in front and poured mana into the magic circle.

The magic circle presented a dark red light that shaded his summon. The light slowly faded and revealed itself to be a Salamander

[Arvel: You will become my familiar. I do not take "No" for an answer.]

The Salamander bowed down to him, signifying it's acceptance.

[Advisor: Salamander. A B-grade fire summon. Best in attack but low on defense.]

[Arvel: Will this suffice?]

[Advisor: It will.]

Arvel goes back to his group with his Salamander following him.

[Shane: That's pretty amazing Arvel! If only I had enough talent.]

[Arvel: Nonsense. Talent is just a word, effort is where it really comes from.]

[Shane: Really?]

[Arvel: Really.]

A fraction of a bond loomed around the spacious room. Those people, living their life like a shitty, carbon-copy, tasteless, Romcom that a person with common sense will never like.

[Raiden: Mordred, Let's surprise them. We'll summon anything better than them. We are gonna show them what Class-S is truly all about.]

[Anna: I agree. Let's erase their false sense of Hope. You're fine with that right? Filia.]

[Filia: I'm fine with it although I can't guarantee that my summon will be rare.]

Holy shit. I am truly blessed with incredible friends.

As soon as those "Reverse Harem, Slice of life" finishes, Our turn will be

EXEMPLARY!

-------------------------------------------------------------------

(-10 Minutes later-)

(-10:40 AM-)

Minutes have gone by.

Their summons is graded by the Advisor according to rarity, history, and usefulness.

Moores summoned a Fulgur Sheep that got a C- grade.

Rowan summoned a Rhivas and got a B- grade

Rhivas is a Rhinoceros that was infused with magical energy and had its head turned into a blade and body slimmer.

Rhivas was the codename for this monster and soon became its actual name after it broke out of the laboratory by an unknown suspect.

Vincent summoned a young, blue dragon with a gem on its chest.

His Dragon was rated as S-grade.

These awful cringey groups of cancers finally finished and we finally have our chance to summon ours.
