Chapter 8

When I ran down the steps, I mistakenly tripped and fell headfirst. Due to the speed, I was running, I knew something bad would happen to my body if I don't land correctly. I quickly brought my hand forward to cushion my head.

When I hit the floor, I heard multiple cracks, and these weren't from the pavement on the wall and ground, but my forearm bones and my wrist dislocating.

Screaming internally, I struggled to stand up and looked down at my arm. They were broken bad but my right was worst. A bone that broke in half due to the fall pierced through my skin making me shiver. I am used to seeing injuries worse than these and have given people injuries worse than this, but seeing it in my own body made me shiver.

Shaking my head and deciding to focus on escaping, I climbed down the remaining stairs and entered the third floor. The floor was empty and quiet, with an occasional moan and whimper, but the floor was filled with dead people, be it patients, doctors, staff, or guards.

I saw some living people, suffering as they slowly die, but oh well, not my concern. Not paying them any mind, lightning cracked around my body before a ran to the next stairs, my broken arms dangling by my side as I ran, making sure not to trip on their body and stopped once I reached the steps.

*Ding*

Lights started coming on all over the building, all the doors were immediately locked, and the siren went off.

* VIU* *VIU* * VIU*

An alarm went off throughout the building. Good thing I have the key card. I need to leave quickly. The police must also be here by now.

Not wanting to be a fool, I started slowly walking down the stairs and reached the second floor. When I ran into the hall, I saw a few dead bodies and people fighting. I looked around before I saw the stairs at the end of the hall before running toward it and with a purple blur, I appeared in front of the stairs and was mistakenly pushed by people rushing to go down.

Good thing they were people in front of me as they cushioned my fall. I quickly stood up, not wanting to be stepped on like the people under me, and started going down the stairs. I would have turned around and punched whoever pushed me but I have had that wasn't working well, so I just kept going down.

When I went down to the first floor, I immediately found other patients, some sitting on the floor and banging their heads, some shouting or laughing, in General, it was lively, of course, there were corpses, and there was no doctors insight so I assume they must have...

"Attention! Attention! Calm down! Everyone, please calm down." Someone was talking into a megaphone. I also heard the sounds of police sirens, it looks like they took control of the situation. This is bad...

I looked out the door and saw a lot of police officers standing with shields and batons, and in front of them was a crowd of psychos. Most of them were covered in blood and behaving inappropriately. It was a night out with dark clouds covering the entire sky with occasional lightning struck moving across the sky.

"We have the permission to shoot if necessary so if you don't want to get shot please calm down and get on your knees." Someone said into a megaphone.

The crazies looked at each other and I saw them hesitate. But as of them were crazier and ran toward the police. It seems like the police were bluffing as they didn't immediately shoot but started hitting the crazies with their baton. Seeing this, the hesitant ones also joined the fight.

No one shot at them, they were just beaten with batons, but that was enough. The line of police officers quickly staggered and they began to crowd the number. I grinned before my body started vibrating and bright purple lightning appear around my body. I then ran through the group shocking the police because of my speed.

I didn't bother fighting them as I ran away from the area around the asylum, into the city.

Freedom at last.
