Chapter 16

-Third POV-

"Let's fight." Rick said, appearing in front of Batman.

Seeing this, Batman tried to move back but Rick was too fast. He punched Batman hard on his right ribs, breaking two of them. Batman gritted his teeth in pain before he swung his fist at Rick but all Rick saw was a fist that was barely moving. Everything around him was barely moving because of how fast his perception was.

"Too slow." Rick said as he moved with super speed and appeared behind Batman before punching him six-time on his back, making him cough out a mouthful of blood.

Batman tried to reach for his utility belt but Rick didn't allow that and grabbed the back of Batman's head, used superspeed to romove his gas mask, then ran out of the building, still holding the back of Batman's head, before slamming Batman face hard on the wall surrounding the Penitentiary, breaking his nose and three of his teeth.

"Not done," Rick said, grabbing Batman by his leg and throwing him like a ragdoll back at the building.

Rick then ran and appeared behind Batman before punching him hard on his back, the sound of bones breaking sounding through the yard of the Penitentiary filled with the dead bodies of guards.

Batman screamed in agony as many thoughts flashed through his man. He wasn't prepared for facing Rick, but when he heard that there was a prison break in the Penitentiary, he had to come.

"Not yet." Rick said, grinning maniacally. He ran to the front of Batman and punched him on his face, use the momentum to slam Batman's head down on the ground.

Rick who was about to stump on Batman's head heard a low hum and looked toward the Penitentiary wall to see a plane the shape of a bat float up from behind it.

While distracted, Batman reached for his utility belt and detonate a smoke bomb. Seeing this, Rick quickly stomped down and was surprised that Batman wasn't there. He was about to run around to look for Batman within the smokescreen but the ground became frozen and he slipped.

He tried vibrating his body to melt the ice but more ice blast shot at him, raising him high up in the air before freezing him whiten big-thick ice spike. The smokescreen cleared and from within the ice, Rick saw Nightwing carrying Batman into the Batplane.

Seeing this, Rick started vibrating his body and managed to melt a human-shaped hole in the ice and slid down the ice spike, just as the Batplane took off. Rick stood and watched the plane move above the clouds, wishing he could run on air or something.

After staring at the sky for some time, Rick turned and moved toward the Penitentiary. Inside was Mister freeze laying on the ground, unconscious.

"At least I didn't lose what I came here for." Rick said looking at Mister freeze. He picked mister freeze up and ran off.

Inside the bat plain, Nightwing called the Batcave and the butler, Alfred answered.

"Alfred, I want you to Inform the entire Batman Family that Batman and I will be going away from Gotham for a while." Nightwing said, slowly increasing the speed of the Batplane. "Batman was badly hurt and I am going to heal him."

"What happened to Bruce? Will he be ok?" Alfred asked with a worried voice.

"Don't worry. I am taking him somewhere he will recover quickly." Nightwing said, pressing some buttons in the Batplane.

"Where?" Alfred curiously asked.

"Infinity Island." Nightwing said after a short pause.

-Rick POV-

I was sitting in front of Mister Freeze who was tied to a chair with a large chain inside the abandoned apartment I live in.

"I need you to create a suit for me. The suit should be fireproof, able to withstand burning temperature so when I run, it doesn't burn." I said, remembering that flash costume. "I will draw a version of the costume and you make it."

"Why should I?" Mister freeze asked.

"Or else, you will die." I answered, looking him in the eye.

"You can't threaten a man who lost everything." Mister freeze said in a cold emotionless voice.

"Oh, I see. What about that Nora female? The one you need a cure for? I can kill her if you have already lost everything then kill you." I said, purple lighting forming around my body.

"Ok, ok. I will do it. Leave Nora out of this." Mister freeze hurriedly said, looking at the ground. "I will make this suit for you if you promise to leave Nora out of this."

"I thought so." I said, the lightning disappearing.

"Why do you need a fireproof suit?" Freeze asked, still looking down.

"So when I run, it doesn't burn." I said, thinking of my suit design.

"Do you need it? Your cloth didn't burn while you run." Freeze said, looking up at me.

This confused me and I looked down at myself and to my surprise, my tracksuit and running shoes were still intact, except for some part that broke off due to the freezing gun. I looked at my skin and also saw no burn marks.

What is this? Was I not moving fast enough? No, I was moving at sound speed and my clothes normally burn off before I reach sound speed and mt skin starts burning after entering Mach 1. What happened?

I looked at Freeze and said, "I will be going for a run." Before I zoomed out of the abandoned buildings and into the city.
