The Second Trial

An hour had passed.

The people that had a farming tool to use as weapon were walking up the stairs, towards the next Floor, while the others stayed in the Safe Zone.

(a Safe Zone is a Floor containing a Trial wich has been completed).

As we walked, i noticed a small crack on the wall, near the stair i was stepping on, and something stuck in it.

Intrigued, i pulled it out of the crack.

It was a bracelet made of small metallic pearls, with a string of iron piercing them, forming the bracelet.

Is this... Another artifact?

Thinking it was an artifact, i put it on, but after equipping it on my wrist, i didn't feel anything strange.

Is this a random bracelet? But why would it be stuck inside a wall...

Slightly disappointed, i continued walking up the the stairs, but the moment i looked ahead of me, i got the same feeling as when i "felt" Shin and Nana's info, but it worked better and on everyone else.

Now i could feel exact numbers representing each of their capabilities and what they're good at!

Since this happened when i equipped the bracelet... It's possible that it enhances the abilities of the wearer! If there isn't a limit on how many abilities it can enhance at the same time, it would be really overpowered...

Now that i think about it, even my physical capabilities have been enhanced, even though it's only by a little.

I was thinking of testing out this power a bit more, but baldie had just opened the door to the next trial.

He used the same trick as last time (he opened the door and blocked it with the farming tool), but nothing special happened, the door stayed open and there were no strange noises either.

"Ray, come here and light up the entrance with the Light Pearl (the luminescent pearl i found in the First Trial), we have to be as careful as possible" said baldie, who was in the front, next to the entrance.

I went near the door to light up the entrance.

Everything seemed fine so we decided to go in while staying on guard, but as the last one entered, the floor became squishy, not like slime though, it was more like...

Quicksand?

"What's happening?!"

"This isn't looking good..."

Everyone was panicking because of the quicksand trap.

Many tried agitating their legs, trying to get out, but it only made it worse.

Almost as if all that wasn't bad enough, something started flying around at an unbelievable speed, chopping off the villagers' heads, one by one.

"HELP-"

"AAAAGH-"

Screams of fear could be heard right and left.

"USE YOUR FARMING TOOL TO-" baldie tried to say something, but 'it' chopped off baldie's head too.

Mia somehow managed to fend off two of its attacks, but she couldn't a third time...

I looked at my feet, partially stuck in the quicksand and noticed baldie's green artifact beside me.

I equipped it and tried to jump after spreading my legs as much as possible to increase the surface area so that i wouldn't have sunk even more when i jumped.

*HAAP*

I managed to jump out of the quicksand, but since i was hindered by it, i didn't manage to jump high enough to dodge its attack and my legs were chopped off by the black shadow.

"AAAAGH"

I screamed in pain.

As i was falling to the ground, i see its figure getting closer and closer...

*Ding*
