It’s All About Perspective

I felt like I was going crazy, I woke up panicked, I couldn't figure out why.

My heart was beating as fast as it could possibly beat, I coughed harshly and my throat felt raspy, I couldn't stop coughing.

I beat my chest in an effort to try and stop my coughing but instead, it became harder to breathe and some blood made its way out of my mouth onto my lip and chin.

I wiped my face and saw the mucousy blood on the edge of my hand.

I looked around and saw the dormitory was empty, which somehow made me more uneasy, I was dying, I could feel it.

My lungs were tight and no matter how hard I breathed I couldn't get enough oxygen, everything felt wrong and I wasn't ready to die.

I started to cry feeling desperate for air, longing for at least one last painfully slow breath to give my mind peace.

My heart slowed its beating and I finally accepted my fate, I couldn't fight it any longer.

The desperate breaths stopped, I allowed my body to take control over my mind.
