Chapter Sixty five
His eyes widened and he smiled ever brighter. "You think of me as a friend, it is settled we are friends!" He said in one breath. I could only widen my eyes in shock, I asked if he wanted... He had set me up, I now had to laugh, loudly. I would have never expected this, I might actually want to keep someone like him around.
"If you tell me your real name, I'll gladly be your friend," I continued "and don't pretend to not know which label I am talking about," I said with a wink. "Reed Edan," He smiled and I nodded. "We need to go to breakfast, Reed," I stood up and raised my hand for him to take. He took it as I pulled him up. "Tell me about yourself," I told him while I snapped my fingers to get Freddie's attention.
"Halfblood, from Manchester, and I like pineapple," Reed said with a smile. I merely nodded and waved at Freddie to come back. Once Freddie came close again, I watched in the corner of my eyes as Reed looked like Freddie was the most beautiful thing in the world.
Freddie landed on my shoulder and I grabbed some more snacks and then walked back towards the inside of Hogwarts. During the time that Freddie was in Hogwarts, he was trained to know where he had to be during lesson time. So when Freddie flew off my shoulder again to go to the owlery, I didn't even flinch.
"He is leaving," Reed said looking at me, I looked him in his eyes again. "He knows he cannot stay with me all the time," I responded kindly. We continued walking in silence as Reed dreamily looked around. "Are you a second year?" I asked. I had not seen him before during the sorting but it was not as if I was really paying attention.
"Maybe, maybe not," He said with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Reed Edan, are you always going to answer like that," I raised my eyebrows. He quirked his eyebrows back at me and laughed. "No, yes, maybe, " He answered and I could only shake my head in defeat.
We continued walking and I followed him more than I walked my own way. He was leading me around and we at 8:22 we entered the Great hall. Right before everyone, Daphne, Draco, and Theodore were not there yet neither were a lot of people since it stats at 8:30. I walked towards the Slytherin table and felt not even slightly surprised when Reed followed.
I sat down and quickly started my breakfast, not paying any extra attention to Reed. As I continued eating my yoghurt with strawberries and blueberries. while I continued breakfast Reed kept on talking and talking while politely shoving his mouth. I was surprised how polite he was while shoving a whole baguette down his down in four of five rows. While I looked at him in fascination as he moved on to the oatmeal I felt a presence behind me.
"Ms Parkinson," a low grumbly voice said. I turned around and faced Professor Snape who looked just like the Alan Rickman. "Here is your weekly schedule be sure not lose it," He said before moving on. I nodded and looked at it, while Reed looked at Professor Snape as innocently as possible while slowly eating all the food at the Slytherin table.
