Chapter 5: We meet again Kiska

Audrey suspected her father was restless the next day but she was not sure about it. He soon convinced her suspicion when she overheard her father almost screaming at somebody on the phone. He even slapped her mother for asking if he was ready to eat to the rest of the family.

Her anger rose when she witnessed it but kept her cool, soon she would be out of the god forsaken house. But she hoped that her future home would not be so violent.

They were now all sitted down at the dinning table, her mother as usual had covered the bruise on her cheek from the slap earlier by her father with a heavy make-up.

To her, it felt like her mother enjoyed the slaps, blows and insults that she received from her so called husband as long as her card remained Unlimited and she had to brag to other women who married less influencer men about her home and money.

" Do you want me to remind you to say prayers before breakfast, hm Audrey?" Her father groaned in annoyance when he noticed that she was in a world of hers.

" Sorry father" she apologized, more like saying it but don't mean it.

" You all are getting on my nerves this morning" He said and began digging in. That was how prayer was forgotten before breakfast.

Her younger brother Nevio and sister Bibian looked at her in a state of helplessness. That was the look of despair, when their father was in a bad mood, it affected everybody. Made everyone at home uneasy.

In other to give them a sign of assurance, she took meat from a bowl in the table and put it on each of them plates alongside a smile.

They smiled back and began eating, forgetting that few minutes ago, they were about to pee their pants.

Suddenly her father right hand Petrio walked in sweating profusely and his eyes was filled with fear.Her father rose up immediately and that statued the rest of them. Her mother stood up and guided Nevio and Bibian to their rooms. She was not a child anymore, happenings like this meant two things, there was going to be invasion of their house by those Bratva brats or her father had done a deal gone wrong.

She wondered which was correct because as soon as Petro whispered to her father's eyes in hard breath, he froze. His entire body was shaking like he was on ice .

Oh Lord! Her father was in deep shit.

"Audrey get your mother and siblings this instant. Leave everything behind" He almost roared at her . Just as she was about to go upstairs, men rushed inside the house and took her father and Petrio to the ground. They were in black with a mask on their face.

Surprisingly she noticed that none of them got close to her or even touched her. It was like they had been warned to stay away from her or like she had leprosy.

It was happening too fast. Damn too fast for her to see him enter until he was close to her.

Then she felt him , his aura too powerful to be ignored. It commanded respect and he was getting it.

" Don"

She called out in a whisper.

" We meet again Kiska"

He walked closer to her until she could scent him, could even touch him but she held her hand to herself.

" Don" her Father called in fear.

" You thought I will not notice when my money gets missing uh Santos?"

" Don, it was a mistake. It was never my intention. I'm very sorry Capo"

" It was always your intention Santos. You are only sorry because your little puppy got got and you got exposed "

" But I will make this easy for you"

Aiden stroked his hair backward but it only bounced back. He sighed and looked right at her like his next words were going to be directef at her.

" I want my money back and will then decide if I want to keep you alive, how about that?"

She didn't know that she was holding her breath until she breathed out loudly.

Her father on the other hand was pale. His face white from fear and shock. His entire body was shivering despite being held by two large men.

Then he started nodding his head as if possessed.

" Yes, I still have the money. I will give it back please spare me" He said and was almost crying.

It felt like she was seeing a new person in her father. He dared to steal from the Don, no one steals from the Don. Everybody knew the consequences of betrayal, Death.

Stealing was another definition of betrayal in their world . Didn't he always swear that he was the most trustworthy person in the mafia today?

Her father was a little too foolish for her liking.

" Don, please. Have mercy, it was never my intention"

That comment made Aiden turn his attention from her to her father

" Ohh, tell me what exactly was your intention then Santos, your daughter is here as well. Why don't your make your so called intended intention known?"

From the tone of Aiden, he was touting her father right in front of her to see her reaction. Interesting, if he was thinking that she was going to defend her father, then he was in for a shock.

" I wanted to get Audrey a brand new car, I swear"

That almost made her almost snap her neck from the way she turned her neck from Aiden to her father immediately.

Damn! Santos really knew how to tell a damn horrible lie.

A brand new car? Seriously?

" She never goes out or drive either. So you tell a terrible lie to be honest"

The bastard struggled the more to release himself. He was finding the whole thing boring.

He left the spot where he was standing with Audrey.

She had the scent of heaven. So good that he didn't feel like leaving side ever, . Soon she would be stuck with him forever. Till death do them apart.

Sorry he said in his head. She was losing a father before her wedding, because Santos was not taking another breathe.

" Say your last goodbye to Audrey"

"No, Don. Please!"
