Chapter 15: Best friend

Audrey continued cleaning and was done in ten minutes and decided after a moment to explore the compound. Just as she was about walking towards the door, somebody entered.

He was backing her at first because he closed the door behind him but when he faced her, she held getsenit to scream his name in excitement or run to him.

The idiot had been gone for over three months.

"Audrey"

He called her gently as if he was scared that she would not recognize him. No way in hell was she not going to recognize him anywhere.

She chuckled and walked up to him first meeting him half way as well

" Hi Jason, long time indeed"

She was glad to see him after three months. He had gone on a mission for Aiden.

" Hmm.... It's been three months since we saw each other. I missed you trouble maker" he said and folded his hand on his chest.

She laughed out loud, trust Jason to put her in a better mood than before.

" Don't let me be rude, please come in" she directed him to the sitting room even though she knew that it was certainly not his first time being in the house and offered him water like he requested.

" So what are you doing here? I'm surprised to see you here sincerely" she asked and sat opposite him. It was only right she sat opposite him, after all she was now married.

" My father requested I bring the Don some important copy, so I came to submit it to him personally"

" Oh! Okay then, I'll go tell Aiden that you are here. He's in his office with Williams"

She only moved two feets when his question stopped her " so you are married now?"

That stopped her. And then she turned to him, it was time she faced it now or things might get messy later in the future. She didn't want to lose a friend over the issue of her marriage.

" Yes, I'm now married to Aiden and will be for the rest of my life"

It was the true, there was nothing like divorce when married to a mafia family. When married to a man, you are forever tied to him whether you like it or not. There was no going back, and considering Aiden's status as the Don, the Leader of the Familia, she was never getta divorce from him. He would not allow it.

Yes, it was also true that if Aiden had not been in the picture and she was permitted to choose the man she wanted to marry, Jason would be the number one choice. But now, since things are like this, there was seriously nothing anyone could do about it.

" I perfectly understand your point of view but I just want you to know that feelings don't die that easily " he said and drank a sip of his water.

She sighed and nodded even if he did it know that she even nodded. She really was sorry that things turned out this way and prayed that his feelings for her wouldn't affect their friendships and interaction with one another.

And the important one, that Aiden wouldn't know about his feelings. End of story.

"I didn't know that you would be here so early Jason" Aiden said from them, she was startled.

He was standing on the stairway with Williams behind him. They were both such quiet walkers, she didn't hear a sound . She sensed that controlled anger in Aiden, he wasn't joking around but why was he suddenly angry? Did Williams deliver a bad news to him? Who knows!

" Good morning Don" Jason stood up in respect and greeted .

" Did you bring what I asked for? I don't want any shit" Aiden said and started descending doen the stairs.

" Yes Don. I and my father already made an accurate research and report on what you requested for" Jason said and gave the documents to Aiden. They were all in business mode, no smiling or side talks. Only commands and immediate response.

"It seems like you and my wife have a lot of catching up to do"

It was rather said than asked .

" Of course we do, this idiot has been gone for three months without even a phone call to his self proclaimed best friend " Audrey was the one who answered him instead while Jason shook his head in amusement.

" Stop acting like I broke your heart Audrey" Jason teased.

" You..." She pointed a finger at him wanting to say something but decided against it. It was always useless to argue with Jason, the moron always won.

" You two can continue your conversation later but Jason, I want you in my office now"

" Yes sir"

Aiden led the way with Jason following behind him.

" Show spoiler" she muttered under her breathe as she watched them go upstairs into Aiden's room.

" Do you want me to tell him what you called him just now?" Williams asked totally aware of the trouble she would be in if Aiden ever heard it.

" Seriously Williams, even you?" She said and posed against him.

Williams had to finish control his laughter when he saw her posture, " I could go upstairs now and tell him"

He teased her the more.

" Fine Williams, please don't tell him. I will be in serious trouble "

She pleaded forgetting her pride fir the moment.

" Okay, fine. I'll keep it to myself " Williams laughed at her expression. She knew Aiden would incapacitate in bed if he heard what she called him.

"Aiden really married a woman that could probably lite his dark world with her light" Williams thought to himself. He dare not say that out loud.

" I'll leave now Audrey, see you later"

" Bye for now Williams"

She watched Williams leave and heard the door shut.

" Knock, knock "

Did Williams forget something? She went back to open the door only to see a young lady of her age with a huge box beside her and a nasty look on her face.

What the hell was going on???
