Fire On The Mountain.

"Since you are hell-bent on rejecting Avril and fully ready to face the consequences. Better get yourself ready to face Alpha Mills, and know how you are going to prevent the enmity you are about to create between our pack and the Mills pack" Paul Graham forewarned Carter who was hell-bent on rejecting Avril.

He knew his best friend better than anyone else, and Alpha Mills certainly wasn't the type to let things go easily, not when one hurted the things or the people he cared and loved the most. 

Most, especially Avril.

Paul Graham hoped the words he said to his son right now would make him change his mind, but there came nothing. Nothing happened, nothing changed.

Carter only gave his father the same mean face he had on since his father came into his room to get him to change his mind and he still seemed less interested in what his father told him. 

Carter wasn't paying attention because if he was really paying attention, then he would have understood what his father meant about enmity growing in between them and the Mills pack.

Paul Graham sighed, double tapping Carter softly on the shoulder, and got up from the bed, moving straight over to the door and departed from the room.

Carter let out a tired sigh and facepalmed.

Nothing was going the way he wanted them to go in his life. This world is f**ked up. He moved back further into his bed and laid down.

A little afternoon nap may help clear the trouble looming in his unsettled mind and might actually give it some rest.

Avril was back in her room, observing Carter had left the pack house. She was sitting on her bed and weeping profusely, which she used tissues to wipe the stubborn tears rolling down her cheeks and refusing to stop.

Her nose was reddened, and her eyes were bloated caused from too much crying. She had been crying for over an hour now, if that was really how long she had been crying.

Avril lost count of it.

"Please don't do this to me, Carter" Avril wailed amidst heavy tears and beat her chest hard non-stop. What had she ever done wrong to Carter for him to want to reject her?, What was she going to do now?. She could never reject Carter. 

It was impossible.

She was still letting the tears loosed and was lost in thoughts which made her not know someone was knocking on her door. The person then forced the door open and then came in.

Avril wiped the tears off swiftly and blew her nose with the tissue, she didn't want nobody to know she was crying. 

"Hey pumpkin" A voice called, moving closer to Avril sitted on her bed and crying. She sniffed, turning and followed the trail of the voice. 

The tears she was trying to hold back from falling, just ran down loosely on her cheeks more than the  amount that was falling down her cheeks when she set eyes on her dear old father.

Alpha Mills felt so hurt and advanced towards her with the speed of light, he sat on her bed and embraced her and Avril accepted his warm embrace and wept more.

"It's okay now pumpkin, father's here now" Alpha Mills wiped the tears off his daughter's face and she leaned more into her father's warm embrace.

He ran his hand down her hair and comforted her. Carter must definitely pay for hurting his favorite.

Avril broke the embrace, asking. "Father, what is wrong with me?" She sniffed and Alpha Mills watched her face closely. She was really hurting badly so he tried comforting her, saying. 

"Nothing is wrong with you Pumpkin" He cupped her face with his palm, "Nothing is absolutely wrong with you, pumpkin. Don't let Carter's words get to your head".

Alpha Mills said to her, knowing she was that way probably because of whatever Carter told her when he came over to the pack house.

Avril nodded her head in response to her father, she knew he just wanted to comfort her which she really needed at that moment, but his words weren't exactly working out for her. So she shook her head slowly and asked "If nothing is wrong with me, then why does Carter want to reject me, father?".

Alpha Mills groaned inwardly, he just wanted Avril to stop with the questions but she looked too brokenhearted to understand him. So he tried comforting her again, saying. "Nothing is wrong with you pumpkin, let's just say Carter was stressed up. He wasn't in his right mind".

Avril pouted with her facial expression contorting into a sad one, "He was in his right mind father, and he really looked determined on rejecting me" She blew her nose with a tissue and continued.

"I don't think he loves me anymore".

Alpha Mills rubbed his temples softly, what was he going to say to Avril to get her to change her mind now?. He finally found a reasonable thought and poured it out to her. "He still loves you Avril so don't think that way, I'm thinking Avril bewitched him".

Avril gave her father a deadpan stare. Was it even possible for someone to get bewitched?. And besides, Ariel didn't have magic, talking more of being a witch. So what did her father mean by that statement?. 

Avril was so curious and then asked, "What do you mean Ariel bewitched him, father?. The stubborn tears falling down her cheeks had stopped and dried up.

"Why else do you think Carter is still falling head over heels for your sister when you are his mate and not her, why else do you think Carter still wants to go back to her even though he had rejected her in the first place?" He paused and continued.

"Ariel's the only one who knew what she did to him, so we just have to find a way to get her to talk".

Avril didn't believe her father, so she shook her head slowly and asked, "Father, what do you mean by Avril bewitching Carter?, I mean it's not like she has magic nor is she a witch.

Alpha Mills was kind of stunned by Avril's words, the Avril he knew before would have agreed to help him find a way to make Ariel confess on whether she bewitched Carter or not. 

Seems like the little sisterly friendship they started that didn't even last, had played its effect on Avril and made her change her bad attitude towards Ariel.

"I think Ariel has bewitched you too, you spent too much time with her during your little sisterly friendship and that's why you are not listening to me now".

Avril gasped out of shock listening to her father's words. Was he really serious on Ariel bewitching Carter and her now too?.

"It's not that father, it's just…Ariel's not the reason why Carter wants to reject me" Alpha Mills was shocked to the core listening to Avril speak. Was she just defending Ariel from the accusations he knowingly brought upon her?

Ariel had finally bewitched her too and won her over.

"And now I'm thinking she has really bewitched you too"

Avril scoffed disdainfully, waving her father's words away. She totally forgot she was crying moments ago caused by her father making silly jokes about her, Carter and Ariel.

"Come on father, are you really serious?" She let out a short laugh and threw playing punches on her father's arm and he laughed too, "Ariel's not a witch so she can't bewitch people, come on, stop that awful thinking of yours".

Alpha Mills observing Avril laughing gladdened his soul. He just made his daughter laugh, it's been a long time since he had seen her that way, since the issue of Carter rejecting her came up.

Avril smiled too right after she stopped laughing, she was enjoying the fun moment she was spending with her father, and he made it more funnier when he thought of Ariel bewitching Carter. 

That smile got ripped off from Avril's lips when she heard her father say.

"Let's forget about Ariel now, Carter's the real deal here" Alpha Mills paused and continued. "And if he still wants to go on with his plans of rejecting you, then he should prepare himself for what I have in store for him''.

Avril swallowed hard and the butterflies in her stomach grumbled aggressively. 

She knew there was definitely fire on the mountain.
