Chapter 10: Small time skip

(3rd person pov)

It has been about 3 months since Xander arrived in this weird world, and his daily life has been about the same as his first two days. The only difference is that sometimes he has nightmares of what happened that night, and he is still getting used to being alone.

Xander didn't think it would be a huge difference to not have Zach, Tom, and Lucas in his daily life, while Xander did talk to the three it was more of him just listening to them constantly argue or them just making up random topics to talk about.

For the first two weeks of being there, Xander constantly tried to say good morning to them since it was a habit he picked up after 15 years of doing it. Another thing is that the few packages that he ordered arrived during these two weeks.

When the packages arrived it made Xander jump up in excitement like he was a little child again. After calming himself down he opened the packages in a flash, what came in the packages was something special to him.

In one of the packages what appeared in front of him was a violin, but it wasn't any standard violin, it was a stunning-looking one.

The violin was almost the same one that he had in his previous life, the violin was made of a maple-type wood. If you polished it and it was underneath almost any type of light it would appear to be some type of glossy redwood.

When you looked at the violin it was like it trapped you in a deep trance with the glossy red-like wood, the black fingerboard, the black tailpiece, and the black pegs in the peg box that contrasted the glossy red made for a beautiful violin.

Being lost in a trance Xander unknowingly shed a tear after seeing something he wanted to see. After about 10 minutes Xander came back from his trance and put down the violin into the case that he ordered for it.

Putting it in the case he was almost brought back into a trance thinking about all the joy and wonderful memories that his old violin brought him. Some of the memories were when he was first learning and his mom would teach him slowly and with a bright smile on her face.

Another one of the memories would be when he let his mom play the violin for him and he would be put in a world of bliss by listening to what she played. Her mellow and pure sound as she played would make any song she played just make it seem like it was only him and her in the entire world.

In the other box was a guitar, this guitar was also special to Xander since he was self-taught and he didn't want to waste all of Tom's efforts in teaching himself. The guitar itself was similar to what he originally had but slightly different.

The only real difference was the material it was made of since the back and sides of this one were made from Brazilian rosewood instead of the East Indian rosewood that it was originally made of.

The main difference was the sound quality, the Brazilian rosewood wasn't too much different from the East Indian rosewood, but historically, Brazilian rosewood has been the choice of connoisseurs, and since Xander had spare money he thought he might as well go for it.

The top of the guitar was the same as his original one and made from a beautiful red cedar wood, looking into the guitar you could feel a comforting and relaxing feeling coming from it.

It felt like you were in the middle of the redwood forest lying on the ground staring up at the humongous trees with it being a cloudy day and being 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 to 21 degree Celsius.

Another thing that happened instead of just the packages arriving Xander also reached master in those two weeks in a few hand-to-hand combat styles and has now tried to combine them into one type of hand-to-hand combat style.

He didn't only stick to hand-to-hand combat styles but he also tried some weapons, the main ones were a spear and a few different types of swords. After he tested these weapons he realized that he hated the spear.

Xander doesn't understand why, but he feels that his blood is burning whenever he uses the spear. He tried since he read that using a spear was one of the best weapons a person could learn to use.

Whenever he tried the sword he remembered his childhood when he thought the sword was the best and coolest weapon ever. He also thought that almost any young child would love and try to be a sword master if they had a chance.

Even though he didn't like to use the spear he still used it until he could consistently beat the master bot just in case he went against someone good at using the spear he could understand how to repel and deflect the weapon.

Xander only tried 4 types of swords and they were the long sword, saber, rapier, and the katana. The one he had the most fun with was the katana, but he also really enjoyed the saber for some weird reason. He thought that he wouldn't enjoy the saber as much as he did.

Xander wanted to try a few more swords and weapons before he moved on to the weapon he wanted to learn last and to have the most mastery over.

The other swords he wanted to try were the claymore, khopesh, and the scimitar. The only reason he wanted to try them was because the claymore was just a giant sword and the other two were weird and funny looking so he thought it would be enjoyable to try.

While he would try these weapons he would only get them up to master and not grandmaster yet, he wants to save the first grandmaster and possibly immortal rank weapon for his last one.

Xander has spent a total of 10-12 hours daily just learning how to use the weapons and hand-to-hand combat in these two weeks and hasn't gone back to the hospital game yet.

(rest of the time skip)

During the total of three months that Xander played in the Neural Nano-Interface, he reached advanced if not mastered all of the hand-to-hand combat styles, he tried the three swords he wanted.

His favorite weird weapon that he tried was the scimitar, since the scimitar is a Bladed weapon with a greater curvature and had a greater cutting effect, provoking maiming injuries that had a detrimental effect on the opposing troops morale in history, he thought it would be fun to use against multiple people.

After all of this time, he decided that he should try person vs person since the bots are more straightforward instead of humans. Knowing how manipulating a human can be he decided that it would be better to try it sooner than when YGGDRASIL comes out.

Xander spent about the same amount of time learning all these different combat styles which was about 10-12 hours a day.

Even though he spent most of his time learning combat he still spared time for playing the guitar and violin in his day. He also spent some of his time in the hospital game learning more and more about the human body that he never knew.

This is how most of Xander's time was spent during these three months…
