Stop being a scaredy cat all the time

Standing outside the cabin, the young man was nervously waiting for permission to get in. He was very nervous to enter her cabin. But he could do nothing about it. His superior had herself called him into her cabin to discuss something very important with him. And this made him more nervous. "What could it be?" he was busy finding the reason and checking his actions from the past when a cold voice could be heard from inside the cabin. " Come in. "

Goo Yoo Jin took a deep breath and wiped the non-existing sweat on his forehead. With a small but nervous smile, he pushed open the cabin door of Park Kwan. Upon entering, he saw Kwan was busy in her system, typing furiously. She looked very serious and engrossed in her work. Looking at her, Goo yoo jin couldn't help but admire her for her diligence and hard work.

When she heard the approaching footsteps, hitting the office floor, she looked up at the person approaching her. When she saw it was her subordinate, who she met in the elevator, Goo yoo jin, a soft look smeared on her face. This young lad always reminded her of someone. She looked back at the screen of her system.

"Oh!!!!, You are here. Sit down, wait a bit, I'll just finish this." Kwan said while continuing her work in her system. She was just working on her second presentation she needed to present to the higher-ups. It was the portfolio of Lee Byung Ho.

Goo Yoo Jin sat down in front of her on one of the director's visitor chairs. He was still very nervous. And wanted to be out of there as fast as he could but he could do nothing but wait for director Park to finish her work. He was still not sure about the reason he was summoned to the director's office by the director herself. He sat there like how an obedient student would sit in front of the principal. Kwan occasionally glanced toward him and found his posture quite funny. 'He looked cute?', was what Kwan thought looking at the poor soul.

After half an hour, Kwan was done with her work. When she looked ahead of her system, she saw the young man sitting in front of her was fast asleep. Kwan was amused by his actions. She couldn't help but question herself, 'Was it that boring to sit with her?'Looking closely, she could tell he didn't get enough sleep the night before. Letting the young man sleep for a bit more, she opened a file and started going through it. This file needed her signature, so she started working on it.

But the sleeping beauty, at this very moment, decided to come out of his dreamland. Goo Yoo Jin woke up a bit dazed. He raised his head from the office desk he used for support. Kwan noticed that he was up, so she paused her work and closed the files. Now that he was up, she had to discuss some important work with him. But when Goo yoo jin realized that he had slept in director Park's cabin while she was working, his face turned as pale as a sheet of paper. He didn't even want to imagine his future. In his mind, he cursed himself in every possible way, he just wanted to fucking kill himself.

Kwan noticed the miserable expression on Goo Yoo Jin's face. He looked like a child who had gotten on his angry mother's bad side while sneakily eating chocolates. She was amused by Yoo jin's actions. He was really like him. Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed culprit Goo yoo jin slowly raised his head to look toward Park Kwan. But regretted the very next moment because Kwan was looking at him with a very serious expression. Her arms were folded in a very intimidating manner on her chest. Yoo jin thought he was dead. Without thinking much he just started ranting as if he was about to cry.

"Director Park, I'm sorry. I don't know when I slept. I just.....I just.....I'm very sorry director Park. Just please, don't fire me. I'll take any punishment you give but don't fire me please." He ranted like a tape recorder just so she wouldn't fire him. Kwan just stared at him and listened to his pleading with a straight face but she was honestly very much amused by his every action. She sighed and then opened her mouth to finally put a full stop to his nonsense ranting. Though she was amused by his actions, she could not afford to waste time at this moment. She still had to discuss the important matter with him for which she had summoned him to her cabin.

" Goo yoo jin, why do you think I called you here in my office?" Kwan asked him directly without beating around the bush. Upon hearing her words Goo yoo jin shut his mouth but then again, he opened his nonsense mouth and uttered his usual nonsense. "To fire me?" Yoo jin answered with uncertainty evident in his voice. His hands were clasped together in nervousness, his legs shook under the table. Kwan noticed every detail while he said those words. He was nervous about her and most importantly he was scared of her. Kwan couldn't help but question her conduct around her subordinates. 'Was she this scary? But she never scolded anyone. Neither she had nasty behavior. Then why was everyone so scared of her?'

"Who said you I'm going to fire you? Why would I fire you? Did you do something wrong?" Kwan asked him, bewildered by his words and a bit frustrated with his actions. Goo yoo jin was relieved on knowing that he was not called here to be fired from his job. But then he remembered that he had slept in her office so he could not be rest assured. Kwan understood what he was thinking and frustratingly sighed. She was very frustrated by his actions now. She just wanted to smack his head and would have done it if only he was not sitting on the other side of the table.

" Why are you such an idiot? I didn't know I would be explaining such things to one of my subordinates. I called you here for an important work. Do you think I'm this free that I would specially call you in my cabin just to inform you that you're fired? And about you sleeping in my office, I would've woken you up that very moment if I had any problem with you sleeping in my office while I was working. It was my fault too....why am I even explaining this much? So get your thoughts straight and put your brain to some use and apply it in the work for which you've been hired. Am I clear?" she completed with a stern look on her face.

Goo yoo jin gulped hearing her words and nodded like an obedient child. Kwan was satisfied with his response and nodded. But then she remembered something and again looked at him with her stern eyes. "And stop being a scaredy cat all the time. You are now working for Senwa, acting like one of its employees. Always be confident. Only if you are confident will people listen to you and respect your words. Of course, you also need to prove yourself as a good employee and a good human but they will only allow you to prove yourself when you are confident in yourself. Keep this in mind, I'm speaking this with my own experience."..."And stop being scared of me. I'm not that scary, you should know this." she added in her soft voice.

Goo yoo jin was too stunned to speak. Was he just scolded by his superior for this? Why did he feel as if his superior sounded like an elder sister scolding her younger brother, while she was scolding him? For odd reasons, he felt warm inside. Their director Park was a very warm person, he could tell this much. If his colleagues heard him saying this out loud in front of them, they would label him as a retard. Everybody in this office was scared of director Park. And as he was a new joiner, he just followed the herd. But now that he knew what kind of a person was director Park, he changed his mind. He would not follow the herd anymore. Instead, he would follow this queen from now on.
