First manga decided

The "Young Talents" category is aimed at people between 14 and 17 years old. Every year on a specific date Manga Master opens the registration through its website. Before that, you must register on the website with the permission of your parents or legal guardian, as you are still a minor, but if you have their authorization you are qualified to participate.

Then as in all manga magazine contests, you have a certain time where you send your manga to be evaluated. The manga will be judged on drawing skills, narrative, and creativity. Luckily for Levi, his drawing skills could be considered expert, since he dedicated all his past life and now in this new life he continued perfecting it. As for creativity and storytelling, he has a manga store with hundreds of different stories.

If your manga passes the evaluation you will be notified of this, and you will have a final face-to-face interview. If you manage to pass this final phase your manga can be published on the Manga Master website, and you will have a special contract with them, always your parents by your side, since you are a minor.

'I have 2 years to prepare myself,' thought Levi.

He still needed to decide which manga, he would submit to the Young Talents call for entries.

Currently, his capital in the manga store is 1,350 USD. His parents give him an allowance of 50 USD, already converted from yen to dollars. So he saves about 600 USD per year.

He has 1,350 USD as it is now the month of April. It has been 3 months since the beginning of the year when he saved 150 USD.

In January of his third year of high school, he will have a capital of 2,400 USD.

With this capital, he could buy the first volume of several manga. But the choice was difficult, there were too many. Besides, because of his young age, he cannot choose a manga in the style of Berserk since it would be strange that a 14-year-old boy could write such a work.

It can't be Barakamon either, although it had a price of 2,500 USD, and he knew that it managed to be animated. It couldn't be either. Also because of his age. Being 14 years old, would he create a story of the stress of adult life and calligraphy? It would be weird.

So he was between two options. The first one is a Shonen manga, and the other is the typical school manga, comedy, romance, etc. In his manga store, there must be hundreds of them.

Another problem was that he didn't know how many copies a specific manga sold, so he would have to rely on his memory. That is, if it had anime, how many seasons it had, how famous it was, and the like.

This is not counting the most famous manga from your past life that you know was a hit. Since, now he has to buy volumes of not-so-expensive manga, and there are some he doesn't recognize.

Levi opened the store and started browsing. Luckily the store had a picture that made it easier to remember manga he read long ago.

Thirty minutes passed, and finally, Levi stopped at a manga titled [The Daily Life of High School Boys] each volume was worth 2,000 USD. And it had 7 volumes in total.

This manga Levi remembered clearly. It was about as the name suggests, the daily life of some high school guys, focusing on humor. It also had a well-received anime.

This manga and anime he read many times. It was really fun. Its price was good, success could be guaranteed since it managed to be animated, and it was also about kids his age, so it was not crazy for him to create such a work.

Besides, his price was 2,000 USD which would be enough for him when he has to participate in the Young Talents competition in about two years or so.

'It's decided,' thought Levi with a smile.

"Levi to dinner!" his mother shouted.

His mother's shout brought him out of his thoughts. He closed the sleeve store and walked out of his room. Arriving at the dining room he sat down at the table and waited for his mother to serve the food.

"Rin's not here?" asked Levi, who didn't notice his sister's typical teasing.

"Don't even name her!" said Emiko in an angry tone as she started serving the dishes.

"She'll stay at her friend's house, again unannounced," replied Takeshi under his breath.

"She better go to school tomorrow, otherwise she'll see," Emiko commented with a frown.

Levi nodded and began to eat without mentioning his older sister again. Ever since she entered high school she started giving their parents trouble.

Rin was always absent from home saying she had to train to be an idol. Levi didn't know what she meant by this. He supposed it would be dancing, singing, and such.

After finishing eating, Levi went to his room and wasted time on the internet. His mother at 23:00hs came into his room and sent him to sleep.

'I'm not a child...' thought Levi somewhat annoyed already inside the bed.

"Goodnight," said Emiko in a loving tone as she turned off the light and closed the door.

The next day, he woke up very early in the morning. He felt pain all over his body, when he remarked this to his father, he laughed and said that yesterday's training was paying off.

Luckily he wouldn't have to go to training today, as according to Takeshi the muscles needed to rest before training again.

His school hours were from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM.

'Why do I have to be at the damn school for so long' Levi thought in annoyance, as he headed to the rooftop.

This time he came prepared. He brought a notebook and a couple of pencils to draw with.

When he arrived he noticed that the girl named Momo, who woke him up yesterday was already there.

Momo was sitting on the floor and playing with her cell phone. When she heard the door she looked up and noticed that it was Levi.

"Oh, you again. What would people say if they found out that the best student wasted time on the rooftop?" asked Momo with a smirk.

"I don't care. What about you? Don't you have friends or something?" asked Levi a little annoyed at having to share the rooftop.

"Look who's talking. You come here with no one too. Are you a loser with no friends?" returned Momo's question.

'What an annoying girl,' thought Levi as he walked away from Momo and sat in a more distant place.

Levi opened the notebook and began to draw. He pictured a long green dragon with red eyes. He was drawing Shenlong in extreme detail.

Momo looked at Levi and noticing that he was drawing, curiosity got the better of her, and she slowly approached him.

"Whoa, you draw well! Who knew that the best student is also a great artist," said Momo, praising him honestly.

Levi raised his head and noticed Momo very close to him observing the drawing, "Thanks I guess..." he said without much emotion as he went back to drawing.

"What a boring reaction. A cute girl is complimenting you, and you have so little reaction," Momo commented, complaining.

"How do you want me to react?" asked Levi as he continued drawing.

"You know stuttering and being nervous. Like something like that: T-thank you... never a b-beautiful girl like you had ever addressed me in my whole sad life," replied Momo while acting shy and stuttering.

Levi stopped drawing and looked at Momo with a frown, "You're not the first girl I talked to," he said, defending himself.

"Oh you look like you struck a nerve," Momo said with a sly grin.

Levi seeing Momo's smirk started to get angry, as she was right. In his previous life, he had died a virgin. By shutting himself away and only devoting himself to drawing, he had zero social life. He barely attended school and died at a young age.

"I can see why you don't have any friends," Levi said acidly.

"Shut up, that's not why!" said Momo angrily as she smacked Levi upside the head.

'This girl!' thought Levi, but before he could yell at Momo, the bell rang.

"The bell has rung. Well, see you next break, bye," Momo said goodbye with a smile as she ran away from Levi's retaliation.

'What's wrong with this girl,' thought Levi not understanding Momo's changing personality. On one hand, she was acting like an innocent girl, then insulting him and hitting him.

Levi put away the notebook and the pair of pencils and headed toward his classroom, he didn't want to be late for class again.

After that, the school day passed quickly. Every break he had, he went to the rooftop to continue drawing or to clear his mind a little. To his bad luck, Momo was still there.

Luckily she spent most of her time playing on her cell phone in silence, but now and then she would engage him in conversation trying to annoy and annoy him. However, it wasn't all bad to have some company.

His school life was somewhat sad, as he didn't make any friends, but he didn't see it possible to make friends with 12-year-olds. As for Momo, she was two years older than him, so sociability was easier. The girl repeated a year, for missing so many classes, but thanks to her family she managed not to be expelled.

After finishing school, Levi returned home where he spent most of his time reading manga of this world to analyze the market. He also spent some time studying for school. Since he had to keep good grades and he had to do the homework given to him by his teachers.
