To Give An Advantage

Mino Naomi knew by now that this was beyond her payroll. She thought to herself that this was it. This was the biggest mistake she had ever made since coming to this city.

She loaded her gun. She fired a shot at one of her attackers. She ran across a red wall, then rolled before bashing the butt of her gun in one of the eye drones they sent her. She took a crack shot of one of the attackers. She bashed her shoulder on the door, rolled inside, took cover, and then ejected the magazine of her weapon with a flick to the side.

She ran sprinting, then took a leap, swinging forward, and then crashing her foot on the door.

"I shouldn't have taken this damn job!"

She said loudly. Even the deaf can hear her.

It was a job that she thought was easy. A simple one that required her to kill an information leaker. She followed the guy. She didn't think much, thinking it was easy. Nonetheless, her arrogance led her to an awful situation. She has pissed off a group that wanted her dead.

She stumbled. She rolled. Her firing hand constantly aimed at their trackers. She hid behind a concrete wall before taking out her comms. It was jammed. No matter how she smacks on it.

Her instincts told her to dodge. She narrowly avoids a shot from one of the rooftops of the city. It was all a ruse to catch her. Unknowing she made trouble because of a case she'd been following.

"Fuck," she fired a shot. She hurried out of cover. Ran to the side and made a giant leap across a granite building. She slit on the wall, bounced to another, and landed roughly on the side of an alley. She tried to move ward, but was blocked by the one chasing after her.

The man said nothing. He shot at her. She tic-tac on the walls before throwing a spike from her gauntlet. Using her superhuman reflexes she scaled the building.

As she climbed the top. She saw figures running towards her. They didn't lose out in terms of speed and strength. They didn't speak either. She was pinned down. It wouldn't take long for her to be brought down. It was actually perfect. But considering that this will make her lose her augments and then climb back up the top. I say that this is a rather good step to the 'good direction' she is heading.

I have been watching her. If the Specters were pain in the ass. Then I understood why she was trying her hardest. Still, unlike what I saw back, this wasn't a game, the one in front of me wasn't the strong, silent, and scary heroine that she was at the moment. She didn't have that in command. The Specters are relentless. Their no-nonsense approach was one of the reasons that they were able to win so hard early. It was only later that they became rather arrogant.

I didn't want Mino Naomi to lose her augments this time. I truly want to aid her right now, but seeing that the main Specters weren't arriving. I remained on the roofs with my camouflage.

She continued firing. The Specters were on cover. She was described as a skilled gunman. She wasn't augmented regarding aiming, but her shots were scarily accurate that even the well-augmented cubs of the Specters were having a joyous time not dying.

She was getting pushed back and from how she was cursing her ancestors. It shouldn't be long until the Specters arrive. After a long time the main specters arrived. I listened to their long monologue. Mino Naomi got her beating, but the moment the main leader of the Specters wanted to extract her augments.

I shot his hands holding the tool.

The rest of the goons pointed at me. I disarmed them by shooting their weapons with my N9. I remained on the edge of the roof while my gun was pointed at the head of the goons.

"Who are you?"

Said the bastard in the middle. He probably thinks that Morgan is dead. That he died. He was kinda close to knowing what happened, but gave up on it after the years that Morgan disappeared. Of course, he never knew who Morgan was and wasn't going to know in the future. All I know is that he disliked Morgan and someone like Morgan shouldn't even be here.

"Didn't think you'd bully recruits like this… Gideon. Looks like your crew has started imitating Ghosts while I wasn't around to make sure that you fools aren't acting like damn fools."

"Morgan, you are alive," Gideon, the man in the front said. "So you finally show up after all this time. What do you want, Morgan?"

"Leave the kid alone. You know how I hate this, Gid."

"She has to pay."

"Pay for what? That she was around bothering your business? Or had you forgotten that this is all because of a misunderstanding? Do you really think that a newbie like this would have the balls?"

"It's not just what she did, Morgan."

"I know. But I'm asking you a favor. I think she learnt her lesson here. So either you let her go… or we're going to have problems."

I shot the fool that was trying to blindside me. The idiot really thinks that he could escape my radar. He was a giant big dot and I was in third-person.

"Fine," he spat on the ground. "Let's go. Leave this city, woman. Come back and we will kill you kindly."

He places Naomi down forcibly. The Specters picked up their weapons. They took the big guy that I shot and then disappeared.

They left. I jumped and landed near her. I injected her with an auto-syringe and called a stitcher to come and rescue her. She looked at me with her eyes, but then decided to quiet down. I checked on her vitals and saw that she was fine. I waited for the stitcher to arrive before leaving.
