Imagine you and me [Part 5]

You know how a person feels when they are given far more than they can imagine?

When they are suddenly getting lucky quite so often?

When too many good things happen after a really bad start?

And the cause of all is a person whom isn't trustworthy and likable?

Gu Yue was having the same kind of Dilemma.

She was the Silver Dragon King who had awakened from her deep slumber a few years ago.

The world wasn't what she knew as she knew though.

The spirit beasts were on the verge of extinction, the abundant forests of the past were no where in sight, the soul energy in the surroundings were extremely thin and the plane that she was on, was facing an invasion of another plane.

The situation felt quite dire to her at that time.

The so called worse than insects aka humans have rised through power with the help of the Gods that ascended through their species.

They had became one of the main reasons for the downfall of the spirit beasts.

And yet she couldn't just kill them all.

The soul/spirit beasts need a place that is full of soul energy to thrive. They can't just live anywhere. They need a forest with abundant vitality and dense soul power.

Not every species was the Bluesilver Grass that could be found anywhere, everywhere, all the time.

The soul beasts obviously needed a place of shelter, which wasn't available in the meantime since humans have wiped out nearly a 8/10th of the natural forest in the Douluo planet.

And however strong as she might be, the Silver Dragon King had no way of recovering the forest in a quick succession.

She was deemed at the ancestor of the soul beasts but she didn't have any relation with spiritual forest creation.

Even the previous Starduo Forest took tens of thousands of years and the help of the Dragon God to reach its past glory. Now it was not even a husk of it.

Hence to find a safe shelter for the soul beasts.

This was problem number 1 that she faced when she awakened.

Secondly, the Douluo plane has been attached with the Abyssal plane and both of them wanted to devour each other.

And guess who was stopping the Abyssal Saint King (Ruler of the Abyssal plane) from devouring the Douluo plane?

It was humans.

Currently the humans were using their top powerhouses to keep the Abyssal plane at the bay.

And now if the Silver Dragon King was to slaughter the humanity, the soul beasts would cease to exist as well since their total strength(quantitative) was weaker than humans.

Humans have slowly taken out the various strong soul beasts and they only have a few super strong soul beasts left in the current era.

They can contend and maybe even win against the top powerhouses of the humans but the soul beasts were totally incapable of defending against the massive armies of the Abyssal plane.

Too low in numbers. Having little to no military knowledge and lack of technological advancements had became a losing point for the soul beasts.

So even if they defeated the humans, the Abyssal plane will take out the soul beasts and the Douluo plane with their forces. So killing humans was out of order but they still wanted to avenge their fallen comrades.

[Remember this point.]

This was also the reason why Di Tian had made a pact with the Spirit Pagoda and allowed them to use the soul beasts for experimentation in the past few millennias.

He had helped the founder of the Spirit Pagoda to create the spirit souls as a way to stop the excessive hunting of the soul beasts.

But once the Abyssal plane was connected to the Douluo plane and the Abyssal forces seeped through the connection and into the Douluo plane, the humans had lost quite a considerable amount of their forces to stop them at that time, and they furthermore needed a fast method to recover their forces.

Hence the Spirit Pagoda went to plead (blackmail) Di Tian to allow him to provide soul beasts for spirit soul research or else everyone will die.

Di Tian knew about the potential of the humans and how fast they grew. He also felt the danger of the Abyssal plane and what would happen if they weren't stopped.

So he finally allowed the humans (Spirit Pagoda) to take some of the soul beasts to experiment and create spirit souls with a heavy heart.

This was the reason how the Spirit Pagoda was able to get their hands of the stable supply of the soul beasts even though the strongest soul beast, Beast King Di Tian was alive and protecting the Starduo Forest.

(The Silver Dragon King is a Divine Beast.)

Without the approval of the Di Tian, the humans would never have the been able to acquire the soul beasts so smoothly.

Di Tian's actions at that were rewarded as well since humans were able to create artificial spirit souls and the Spirit Soul Tower due to it.

This lead to the further strengthening of the humans and they were able to keep the things with the Abyssal plane at bay but then it all changed when the humans become greedy.

Di Tian's kind(?) intentions at that time started the sudden and massive downfall of the soul beasts as in the name of the protection of the world, humans reaped the soul beasts for their research.

(There were a few more reasons involved but that will be explained as the story continues.)

At that time, Di Tian was struck in a tight place with no other way. If he chose to reject the humans on the experimentation of the soul beasts, the human forces will not be able to replenish themselves at important times and would lose.

Which in turn would lead the Abyssal plane to devour the Douluo plane and everyone will die.

And If Di Tian kept allowing the blatant extortion of the humans, the soul beasts would one day cease to exist.

What Di Tian chose was known to all as the soul beasts population and Starduo Forest continued to shrink.

But Di Tian didn't choose this option because he didn't have any of other choices (that was a part of the reason).

He had a hope and the hope was called the Silver Dragon King.

He knew of the slumbering Silver Dragon King in the centre of the Starduo Forest and he was planning on using her to gain the standing of the soul beasts back.

That's why, even though his heart pained at the gradual decline of the soul beasts, he still chose to let the humans do as they want. He needed time. He was waiting for the awakening of the Silver Dragon King.

Except it didn't happen anytime soon as he waited and waited for like three-four thousand years and the Starduo Forest was surrounded by all sides by the humans by then.

Until one fateful day when all the soul beasts were arguing with his silence on the humans and their actions, and were on the verge of having an uprising against him and going against the humans.

The Silver Dragon King awakened and his thousand years of long wait ended.

He told her about the situation and about the new world.

And from that information, the Silver Dragon King decided to not attack them in the meantime while trying to find another way to destroy the humans.

This was the second problem that she faced when she awakened.

Moving on to the third reason.

The Silver Dragon King woke up from her long slumber from beneath the center of the Star Dou Forest, after she sensed the death of the Golden Dragon King. She roared in sorrow and anger. Before her was the sight of several spirit beasts kneeling to her. She led some of the spirit beasts to the outside world in order to learn about humans, so they can destroy them later on.

How was she going to do that with the previous two reasons in place?

The answer was the Golden Dragon King.

The Silver Dragon King had sensed the presence of the Golden Dragon King in the human world and was planning to devour the Golden Dragon King and ascend to her true form aka Dragon God.

The Dragon God will take care of a little problem like the Abyssal plane and he was actually the origin of the soul beasts so he will take care of the soul beasts as well.

Two birds with stone.

Hence she joined the human society to search for the dragonborn and she was just a tiny bit disappointed when she realised that the Golden Dragon King was currently sealed in the human and it was weak, pitifully weak.

So weak, she couldn't even kill the human to get the dragon as killing him will kill the dragon in him as well since they were bonded.

But she couldn't devour him as well since he was so weak that she would not even recover her wasted energy much less reach her true form.

Hence the Silver Dragon King decided to wait, wait till the human had increased in strength and gained the complete strength of the Golden Dragon King. At that time, she will devour him and become the Dragon God

This leads to the creation of stalkers.

Gu Yue was one of them and her target was obviously the protagonist Tang Wulin.

Her plan was super~ simple. She will wait for a few more years while overseeing the situation of Tang Wulin and deal with him when the time comes.

That's what she was going to do as well.

Then her slightly-annoying-at-first nightmare came in the form of this psychotic human who claimed to rebuild a better Starduo Forest and apparently hated humans.

He... even though she hated to admit it, was like the solution to more than a two-thirds of her problems.

He built a forest, kept her secret, was planning to removing the reliance of soul masters on soul beasts for the spirit souls and finally, he also planned to take down the humans in the future as well.

He was strong, weirdly smart at times and contained too much of dark side of the humans, disgustingly dark.

He had been helping her quite a while although she knew that he was just using her and completing his own desires, which just in case overlapped with her plans.

It was like he was the answer to all her problems and it was too good to be true since it him she was thinking about.

Humans were not to be trusted. More so when it was a human devoid of any kindness or sympathy.

And yet something stopped her from becoming close to him.

He himself was around 95 percent of the reason but the remaining five percent made her troubled.

She couldn't completely comprehend him and that was a scary disadvantage to have when you are clearly placing the survival of your whole species into the shoulders of one person who is too fickle in nature.

Gu Yue looked outside the window of the soul train that was speeding along the tracks.

It was the same usual boring sight of buildings, humans and buildings again.

"Why does he always look outside with so much interest then?"

She whispered to herself.

A month has passed since Fan Lin had left for his important work.

A month has passed since she last talked with him.

She tried calling him many times but he never picked up. There was even a time where she got worried about him but now she wanted to bash him up real hard.

'His skin is too thick for physical violence.'

Gu Yue thought while recalling her past experience.

Gu Yue had finally decided to visit Moon Forest because Fan Lin had suddenly went there and increased the area of the Moon Forest by more than 50 times.

This happened a few days ago and now she wanted to see the newly added area.

She had worked hard in her studies in the past month and even completed the rough design draft for one of the armour pieces for her friends (Xu Xiaoyan) in this month.

Other times, she had tried calling Fan Lin multiple times to ask about the nonsense that he was putting her through but the calls never went.

And since Di Tian was following Fan Lin and reporting his daily life, Gu Yue knew that Fan Lin had blocked her for moment.

She blankly looked at the passing by clouds and decided to blow Fan Lin when he returns.

'I am thinking of the same thing again.'

And it wasn't just Fan Lin that wasn't picking his call. Leng Yaozhu seem to have disappeared after leaving the continent as her soul communicator was unreachable for the moment as well.

Something deep was brewing in the dark.

She thought.

The announcement rang as the soul train stopped at the station. It was the same station that Fan Lin took Gu Yue to.

It was the same station where she had gotten on his flying soul car and started that cursed 23 hour journey to the Moon Forest the previous time.

Anger and bitterness rose in Gu Yue as she remembered his words: one hour later.

She left the station and took a cab ride to the outskirts of the city.

Unlike Fan Lin who had chosen to stop at this city because it allowed flying soul cars in its vicinity, Gu Yue had stopped for an entirely different reasons.

She was Gu Yue, she doesn't need a flying soul car for her journey and neither did she want to sit in one after the last time.

"We are ready, My Liege."

Di Tian said to Gu Yue with a polite bow. The two women beside him did the same.

"Let's leave them. I want to see how is he doing."
