Gu Yue internally sighed. She realised that the conversation had ended on her side. Whatever she said now, he would have a really good taunt for it and she had enough embarrassment for the day to continue on the doomed topic.

"Anything else do you need?" [Gu Yue]

She calmy asked.

{Some perfumes or scents that girls your age use. Forget it, you would not know them. Just give me a few pair of your clothes; washed and clean.} [Fan Lin]

He calmly replied.

"Where are you now? How much time are you staying there for?" [Gu Yue]

She asked again.

{At my shop. I will wait for you.} [Fan Lin]

He replied again.

"Okay. Good. Stay there. Don't leave. Just stay there." [Gu Yue]

'I will poke a hole through his chest.' [Gu Yue]

Gu Yue made a small mental note and began to patiently wait for his next words. He hadn't cut the call yet.

{How's your classes?} [Fan Lin]

'Huh?' [Gu Yue]

A normal question that she didn't expect.

'What does he want now?' [Gu Yue]

She wondered. It was nothing, he had just gotten the answer that he had wanted and was just making a small talk like he usually did. Gu Yue didn't know that though.

"Nothing's changed from what I told you a week ago. What about you?" [Gu Yue]

{I was sleeping in the Absolute North before a bunch of scientists there dug me out from my sleep.} [Fan Lin]

'I know that already.' [Gu Yue]

'But for the sake of continuation, let me give you a appropriate reply so that we can proceed further into the conversation or you are gonna change the topic again.' [Gu Yue]

"I have lots of questions regarding what you said but answer just one of them now. Why did you go there?" [Gu Yue]

She asked while selecting the clothes that she had to give him. She carried a storage guide and it obviously had some sets of her clothing but she didn't want to give even one to him though.

'For the sake of the soul beasts.'

She finally chose one set of clothes that she didn't particularly like. As for the conversation about the Absolute North, she wasn't that interested in it since Di Tian had already told her everything about it.

Fan Lin had went there, cultivated for a few hours and then slept for seven days straight before a bunch of scientists dug him out and he left after becoming violent with them.

She already knew about this and he was not going to tell her the complete truth anyways.

'Why did he not use his spiritual power when he was sleeping though?

As she was thinking all that, Fan Lin's reply came.

"I wanted to see the Ice Jade Scorpion." [Fan Lin]

'See that.' [Gu Yue]

She glanced at the Ice Jade Scorpion Queen among the Great Beasts and shook her head at his words.

'Why does he even need to lie on this?' [Gu Yue]

"That's it?" [Gu Yue]

{That's it.} [Fan Lin]

"They are indeed beautiful." [Gu Yue]

{They are.} [Fan Lin]

"So did you find any? And weren't you going to be late if those people didn't dig you up? How did they even get so close to you that they can dig you out? With your spiritual power, you should have known their presence before they even neared you?" [Gu Yue]

She asked him. She had wanted to know the answer to this for a long while.

{About that, I couldn't find any. I also set a timer before I sleep so I always wake up on time.} [Fan Lin]

'Doesn't he shut down his senses whenever he slept? How did setting a timer help then?'

'Why does he lie about every little thing to me? Does he think that me knowing this information would make me a god king or something?'

'Well to disappoint you, it doesn't. I still haven't gain a single point of strength from knowing all this.'

'My ridicule for you have rose though.'

'I still have to give a proper reaction. Should I cut the call? He isn't talking about anything important.'

Gu Yue, now that she had calmed down, thought. She had already cut down the main threat of Fan Lin joining Qiangu Dongfeng and Fan Lin wasn't sharing any important stuff with her.

There no need to talk with him because she knew that as their conversation progresses, there will be a point where he will say something that will enrage her enough to kill him but due to her being duty bound and for the bright future, he will live another day while she will have another embarrassment.

'Let's cut the call after this.'

"?" [Gu Yue]

Gu Yue gave the 'proper' surprised reaction and then waited for him to continue the conversation before she can cut the call at the good moment.

{I don't use my spiritual power in my everyday life. Just only during battles and such. Plus I don't like to be disturbed while sleeping so I often cut my consciousness from my body whenever I sleep. I also cut my senses and emotions sometimes as well.} [Fan Lin]

'Huh? Emotions and consciousness? That's...'

"Let's put the spiritual power aside for now. What do you mean you cut your consciousness and emotions from your body when you sleep? Why do you even need - forget that I ask, you are you, of course it would be something of a secret that you can't tell." [Gu Yue]

She had asked because she was confused, but then immediately regretted because she had unknowingly changed the topic and he will most likely do so.

"It isn't. I just shut down my mind and body, cease my emotions and just sleep like that. It always calms me down." [Fan Lin]

Fortunately for her, he didn't change the topic but the reply that he gave her made her far more confused because if he shut downs his consciousness and emotions and senses, that's not sleep. It's death.

'His heart doesn't even beat.'

"That's basically death, not even coma. How do you even do that? Why do you, well okay cut this question as well." [Gu Yue]

'You are obviously not going to answer truthfully.'

"So you are saying that you are completely defenseless whenever you sleep." [Gu Yue]

'The conversation difficulty had risen now.'

"Don't sleep often my foot! you shouldn't even need to sleep. Have you heard of any cultivator who sleeps?" [Gu Yue]

She said, her emotions different from her words. She was calm on the inside but her words still contained the annoyed tone.

She contemplated again.

Then his next words broke her act. She reverted to her normal cold tone because he would never say things like this.

He may be unscrupulous, gross, disgusting, annoying, hateful, weak and deceitful but he was never the type to say things like that to her. Not after the last time she misunderstood.

Di Tian, Fan Lin's stalker, and also the second being who realised that the weird Fan Lin was acting more weirder now.

-- His spirit hasn't broken yet but there are signs of extreme damage from my attacks. I thought that he had somehow negated the spiritual attacks but that may not be the case now. -- [Gu Yue]

Di Tian looked at Gu Yue but said nothing.

-- That could potentially explain his quietness on the matter as well. -- [Gu Yue]

Gu Yue thought before analysing his spirit once again.

-- His spirit is still intact and slowly recovering from the effects of our invasion. He should be fine in a few months... -- [Gu Yue]

-- The things he will do in that time could be problematic. Should I keep a close eye on him My Majesty? -- [Di Tian]

-- What would you even observe? You recall even a single plan of his that didn't put us at risk? -- [Gu Yue]

-- Let's leave him to his own accord for now and focus on the Moon Forest. I don't think further involvement in his matters would benefit us in any rate. -- [Gu Yue]

-- All of you, return to your posts and focus on your other tasks. Di Tian, hasten our infiltration into the human society, we have to prepare on getting rid of the Abyssal plane after the matter of Moon Forest settles. -- [Gu Yue]

-- Let's finish the migration and then we will discard the Star Duo forest and be gone from the eyes of the wor— -- [Gu Yue]

Gu Yue kept the conversation with Fan Lin going while she was conversing with the Great Beasts about how they(she) might have broken(slight damage) Fan Lin's spirit and what they should do now.

-- What is happening? -- [Di Tian]

Then Fan Lin cut the call and began laughing for no apparent reason.

-- Is there some hidden damage that we can't find? -- [Bi Ji]

-- No, something is wrong with his spirit. It is being further damaged on its own. -- [Myriad Demon King.]

-- My Majesty, what do you think? -- [Bing Yun]

The Ice Jade Scorpion Queen spoke for a the first time since her first appearance. While the other Great Beasts were also reporting in the situation and his condition, Gu Yue was silent, so was Di Tian. Both of them were just staring at him.

They were the beings with the highest ranks of Spiritual power attainment among the rest of the group and they could easily sense the changes that were happening in Fan Lin's spirit.

Except those specific changes were the thing that had made them silent.

-- He is currently breaking through the Spirit Abyss realm -- [ Di Tian]

-- His spirit is devolving though. -- [Gu Yue]

It was a first for them to see such a weird Spiritual breakthrough. They still haven't experienced the things that happens 10000 years later.

-- I don't know what's happening anymore. -- [Di Tian]

-- Human cultivation has always been weird. He has lots of secrets that we still don't know. This should be one of those weirdities. -- [Gu Yue]

Since they didn't know, they just left it as the wonders of humans. Something that has been surprising the Great Beasts all the time, be it Battle Armours, spirit souls, TVs or the spaceships.

Even a being like Gu Yue couldn't proclaim that she wasn't surprised by such sights. So yeah, blame Fan Lin's weirdness to the human race's innovation and development.

Gu Yue stated, finally accepting that maybe, she shouldn't have gone so overboard with the attacks. She also ordered the other Great Beasts to return to their positions and hasten their work progress since Fan Was being left to his own accord.

This meant that now the Soul beasts had to focus on the things that they were previously doing and finish it as fast as they could before the final day.

--- Yes!! Your Majesty --- [Great Beasts]

The Great Beasts exclaimed and disappeared from the Shrek City, all of them returning to do the tasks that they were doing before.

Only Di Tian remained by Gu Yue's side because his job was to follow Fan Lin and Gu Yue hasn't given him any new task.

"Di Tian." [Gu Yue]

"Your orders, My Majesty." [Di Tian]

"If he ever tries to transcend to the Titled Douluo rank, kill him immediately, or at all costs. He should not he allowed to increase his strength beyond that since..." [Gu Yue]

"The current him is giving me a terrifying feeling that I can't honestly fathom how or why despite his weak strength." [Gu Yue]

"I will heed your words, Your Majesty." [Di Tian]

Gu Yue seriously said to Di Tian as they were observing his mental state and spirit while he was laughing like he just heard something extremely funny.

A few minutes later.

He got up from the ground and left after saying a few words to his workers.

Except he felt different than the being who had began laughing.

"He doesn't feel any different though." [Di Tian]

"Why was he laughing though? He even left the shop." [Gu Yue]

They both wondered but they just couldn't think of the answer at all.

Di Tian looked at Gu Yue and she signalled to continue following Fan Lin.

'The classes had ended already.'
