Attention

Camilia stiffened, her hand clutching the bracelet pendant, she could hear footsteps approaching.

The door jiggled, the sound of a key being used, so the door was locked. Camilia sat still, unsure whether she should stand up. She thought of Ryan sleeping on the couch, what would do here? She decided to stay sitting, Ryan wouldn't let anyone change how he behaved. So she wouldn't let those coming see her fear, her indecision. If her legs started to shake she would sit so they wouldn't see. If her hands shook she would stick them in her pockets.

The door opened, revealing a group of four. A young man, barely older than her held the door open, his eyes on the ground as the other three entered. Camilia looked at them, there was no way to overpower them, especially with Brett still unconscious.

The man in front smiled at her, sitting across from her, "Welcome sister." He said, gesturing for those around him to sit as well.

Camilia watched him, her eyes drawn to his straight, yet comfortable posture, there wasn't even a hint of a slouch. He had a blue sweatshirt on, contrasting his blond hair that hung just below his ears. It was clipped out of his face by sparkling hairclips.

Camilia didn't know how to feel, somewhere between laughing and screaming.

The man chuckled, a hand tracing a hairclip, "You gotta tame it somehow." He said, shrugging.

Camilia narrowed her eyes, "Why did you kidnap me?" She asked, no longer sure if she had to mistrust or hate this person.

The man let out a deep breath, "We couldn't let you go. Not after biting you." He cringed. Camilia narrowed her eyes more, they met his, landing on the slash across his eyes, the eye was brown while the other was blue. She flinched as the wolf who but her came to mind, a long scar over a brown eye.

"It was you." Camilia said, a growl emerging.

"Hey, she's already turning!" A woman said, sitting down next to the man, her movements fast and excited.

Camilia felt her anger mounting, she wanted to leap at this man and tear out his throat.

"That won't do." The man said, snapping. It was as though a damn had broken, a flood of pain tearing through Camilia, focussed on her shoulder, but her head felt as though it was going to explode. The pain had been building up in her numbed state, gaining strength to tear her to pieces

Camilia let out a strangled sob, fighting to stay upright as everything told her to curl up, to crumple. The man snapped again, the pain disappeared, wrenching away Cmailia's strength, leaving Camilia gasping, hollowness filling her.

The man's eyes were soft, "I'm sorry, but you were letting the wolf in. If you want to make it through this you can't let the wolf have control. It doesn't feel pain, so when you do you know you're in control."

Camilia said nothing, her chest tight, she couldn't breathe. Her hands shook in her pockets, her throat dry. She pictured Ryan, telling her to take a deep breath like he always did. That he was there, she closed her eyes, she wasn't alone, she wasn't alone.

"Hey, hey, take a deep breath." The man said, putting his hands on her shoulders to steady her. Camilia flinched away from his touch, breath becoming faster. She clenched her eyes shut, trying to force the tears to disappear. She knew she had to breathe, she had done this before, but as her fingers dug the pendant into her palm she felt it get sticky and wet, she knew she wouldn't be able to get control.

"What's going on?" A lazy voice asked.

"I think she's going into shock, either that or a panic attack ." The man said, his voice concerned.

Camilia felt a hand grab her arm, it came from behind her, gentle and shaking.

Camilia jerked, snapping her head to see who was behind her.

Brett had propped himself up, his eyes scared, but determined as he looked at her, "Camilia." He said, a faint smile growing, "You're okay." He said, relief filling the room.

Camilia stiffened, she wasn't okay, but as she looked at Brett she found herself relaxing, he was okay. She wasn't fine, she might never be fine, but Brett was okay. He was awake and unharmed. She nodded, taking a deep breath, it hurt, but she forced another, then another, trying to ignore the people sitting around her, focusing in on Brett.

"Well, I guess it'll be best for us to leave." The man stood up, the woman beside him standing as well, the man glanced at the two on the floor, looking like he wanted to say something more, he flexed a hand before turning and walking out.

Brett stayed still as they left, waiting until he heard the door lock into place before sitting up.

"Is there any way out of here?" He asked, searching the room, his eyes fell on the open window, looking hopeful.

Camilia shook her head, "The door's the only way." Brett deflated, bringing his feet under him to stand up. He scowled as he saw his ripped shirt, then moved to the door, jiggling the handle. It was locked.

Brett took a deep breath, "Well, Kyle knows we're missing, he'll be able to call the police, then they'll find us."

Camilia pictured the wolves, "Will they?" She asked, not really believing that the police could help, even if they could find them.

Brett let out a shaky breath, "Well, maybe there's some supernatural police, some werewolf hunters that can find us. Everyone needs some control, right?" He looked out the window, his face paling as he saw the drop off.

Camilia felt her chest getting tighter, "They said I'm turning." She thought back to her anger, to her desire to kill that man. It hadn't been her, she hadn't thought that.

Brett stopped, turning to sit next to her, he looked at her, giving her a shaky smile, "We can do this." He said, his voice more hopeful than knowledgeable, "We can figure this out. Maybe there's a way to stop the transformation, to keep you human."

Camilia shook her head, bringing out the hand that had her bracelet, she looked at it, tracing the rope braided strands, "I don't think so. Their Goddess gave me the official welcome." She handed him her bracelet, "I guess it's a welcome present."

Brett took it, inspecting it then handing it back, he gave a tired smile, "I guess we'll just have to wait and see."
