Ch 32 - Limitless

[MC's POV, Back to His Fight]

However, this progress seems to be too slow for her liking because she suddenly moves away from me, pauses for a second and sighs loudly, it's like she lost a bet with herself or something, and then disappears from my sight.

However, this also gives me a few seconds of breathing room, and just as she is implementing a new move, I'm also implementing my own.

It's the new move that I once mentioned to Poche-chan in passing. A move that I've been practicing for these following weeks and trying to get it as close to the real thing as possible.

I jokingly call it, Limitless.

What I did is within the timeframe of the red-haired agent moving back a distance and sighing loudly…too dramatically for my tastes, I began to quickly sense my energy as deeply as I could, and slowly cover my whole body with it, limb by limb, basically forcing myself to focus on every single part of my body at the same time and envelop it with my Slow energy.

Something that with 2 weeks of constant practice, is doable, but still very dangerous to me, if I had something like parallel thinking than it could be the most useful ability in my arsenal, but I don't have that, so it's not really all that practical; its merely an energy guzzler and a huge risk at the moment.

But I have to use it, not only has it been 2 minutes since we have been fighting, giving me 1 more minute until 3 more Cipher Pol agents jump into the party, but I've also been losing a lot of blood, making me slightly lightheaded, and weak, indicating that if I don't do something soon, I will fall and I will die at the hands of this red headed assassin.

That is why even if uncomfortable with using it, I force myself to use Limitless, a move that when implemented, basically makes me invincible in the lower tiers of power.

With the slow energy surrounding and moving with my body, anything that tries to hurt me, ranging from a sword to a bullet, to sound waves it's all frozen in time as it gets further inside the energy layer (if an object is removed from the layer, it reverts back into normal speed).

Basically, making me a human fortress, and the good thing about this is that I don't even have to worry about not being able to attack, I can move just fine, and for some reason or another, if I am holding an object, like a knife or sword, the energy automatically considers it a part of my hand, covering it as well.

It also makes my surroundings slightly colder.

Back to the fight, as I cover the last part of my body in a thick layer of purple energy, I'm suddenly assaulted with the sight of a sharp edge of an ornate dagger, right in front of my eye, stopping just as it was about to make contact with my eyeball.

This scares the shit out of me, making me almost shit my pants, but I hold it in and jump away from the attacker, which once again proved to be the lightning speed red haired Cp agent.

And going by her body language, which she seems to like exaggerating, she is perplexed on how her crazy quick attack didn't end me, but then she just overtly shrugs and attacks me once again.

Cutting and slashing and piercing at me 100 times per second, and with a tremendous force behind her attacks, making me believe that if she would have used whatever she is using right now in our previous exchange, then I would have been a cold corpse not a second after I met her.

And due to the fact that this is the first time I've used Limitless in battle, the crazy barrage forces me stop and stand in place, putting all of my attention on maintaining my hold on Limitless, because if I falter for even a second, then that whirlwind of sharp steel will cut me up before I can even blink.

'Focus, Focus, Hold, C'mon Hold it!' I repeat in my head like a chant over and over again.

'C'mon! Focus on the goddamn feeling! You can do it! She won't be able to keep that crazy attack up for long!'

'Yes! Yes! It's getting easier c'mon; this is going to be a breeze! And when I get complete control of it, I am going to go up to the bitch and sock her right in the pus…WHAT SHIT!' Just as I was feeling as if the energy was becoming easier to keep in control, I feel something different! I feel my reserves of energy plummeting!

Fuck, I forgot that Limitless was something that takes a shit ton of energy to actually work!

With this new detail coming into play I quickly evaluate my options, and none of them are looking good.

My energy reserves that my body naturally holds are at an all-time low and using limitless is not going to be possible in a few more seconds.

Therefore, I do the only thing that I can think of at the moment… run as fast as I can and get the heck away from this woman!

And that's exactly what I do, I start running as fast as I can, unintentionally using shave, something that I was very close to mastering, and running towards the edge of the island, intending on running over the ocean.

And when I look back, I see the woman shaving much faster than me and catching up to me.

She looks reluctant to chase after me, especially on water, since I believe she has a devil fruit, but by this point it would be a personal mark on her ledger if she couldn't get me.

*Fwoosh* *Fwoosh*

*Fshh* *Fuugh*

We shave all the way to the coast, and I immediately begin walking on the water, running towards a further location.

I'm actually doing this not by using Shave or the awesome Moonwalk, but with Limitless.

Whenever I touch the water or the ground, it freezes the molecules slightly, and creates a foothold for me to run on.

And not long after I find myself about a mile away from the coast, standing in the middle of the open sea, the shining silver moon giving light to the night; and right across from me I find the red-haired woman, similarly standing on the ocean waves, not seeming to be using Moonwalk either.

And with the moon at my back, I ask her "Why is the World Government meddling in the issues of a small island in the West Blue?"

She tilts her masked face slightly and slowly answers in a soothing voice, "Soo… you know this much? Do you? You are a much bigger threat than previously believed! You must be eliminated! "she says while making a threatening gesture.

I put my hands up in surrender "Hold on a second their woman, we can come to an agreement if we talk it out, don't you think?"

She leans her head forward a bit and coldly replies," Negative…You are stalling, fool!"

I reply with an "Hey, hey, hey! C'mon now! What's with that quick answer! And what could I possibly be stalling for? I have no one coming to back me up! I don't even know what happened to them!"

"You are lucky the World Government has asked for anyone involved with Hellcat Carina to be brought in, or I would have pierced you where you stand, even with that annoying shield of yours," she coldly replies to me with a smooth voice.

With that only the sound of waves could be heard until a "HAHAHA, you got me woman, thanks for following me you bitch! Take this!" I quickly scream back as I take a big gulp of air into my lungs and loudly exhale as I heave and clap my hands together as hard and as loud as I possibly could, and *KRAKOOM* The result was a loud sonic boom followed by a huge vaporous explosion of sound, light, and freezing air.
