“New destiny”

It was nighttime on Battleship Island, Yamamoto had told everyone that they would have an important meeting in the evening.

All the people currently living on Battleship Island were sitting around the campfire where the outdoor banquets were being held, waiting for Yamamoto's arrival.

Unlike everyone else who was sitting on the logs, the imprisoned marines were sitting on the ground farther away from the group.

Finally, after a few minutes Yamamoto arrived, "Sorry to keep you waiting" he said as he sat down on one of the free logs. It had taken longer than usual, as after sparring with Apis in her training to improve her devil fruit, he was very dirty so he took a bath.

"It's okay, why did you gather us all here?" asked Clover.

"As everyone knows our supplies are getting less and less, so I was planning a trip to buy everything we need to last us much longer" Yamamoto explained.

As they left Ohara quickly, they didn't get to have many provisions to last them for several months, they were able to continue thanks to Nelson's ship which had plenty of food to maintain that obese body.

Although they could live only on meat from the animals they hunted, it was not the most optimal and there are many provisions that they lack, even so, this was an excuse for Yamamoto to leave the island in search of a side mission and to be able to increase his strength faster.

He could try to go alone, but he has no idea how to navigate and he will most likely end up getting lost and never be able to return, navigation was not a game in the world of One Piece. So he creates this excuse for Olvia and the others who have more ideas to follow him and do the ship chores instead.

"It's true, we have less and less food. Anyway, I was going to ask you to make a trip, we need some things to continue our studies" said Clover in a serious tone.

The archaeologists nodded agreeing with Clover, especially for the last thing he said, *These study fanatics...* thought Yamamoto.

"Although we need some books and stuff, won't it be dangerous? It's only been a month since they attacked Ohara, they must be looking for us" said Roche with a frown.

"Indeed... it will be a dangerous mission, that's why only a few of us will go. Who wants to go?" Yamamoto asked.

After a few seconds a voice was heard, "I will go" This was the voice of Saul who was sitting behind the campfire, as his body was too big, "No, you're too big and conspicuous. They'll easily find us if you come with us," Yamamoto said, without leaving room for discussion.

He was the one who most wanted Saul to accompany them on this dangerous journey, but his huge size will make them find them easily, Saul said nothing more than to understand Yamamoto's point.

After him, all the archaeologists started to raise their hands willing to accompany Yamamoto on this trip, "Well... how everyone wants to go I will choose some myself" said Yamamoto not expecting this scenario.

"It will be you, you, and you who will go" said Yamamoto while pointing to the people who would follow him on this trip which were Olvia, Roche, and Gram.

Olvia was the most important of all, after all, she had the most experience sailing and knew how a ship worked unlike him and the others. As for Roche and Gram, they would need someone to do the hard work.

Clover, upon not being chosen, slightly furrowed his brow, but he didn't say anything as he knows he will be a burden due to his weakness.

"Grandpa, I want to go too!" said Hocha as she stood up from her seat.

Yamamoto looked toward Hocha, and it was evident that he gazed at her affectionately. In the memories he acquired from the previous owner of this body, Hocha was the closest and most beloved person to the previous owner. Therefore, he wouldn't allow her to accompany him on this journey.

Although he did not want anyone to die and would lay down his life to protect them, he preferred to leave Hocha here, in a safer place, "Tell me what function can you fulfill for me to let you go?" asked Yamamoto to Hocha.

He knew that simply telling him no, would not be enough to make Hocha give up on the subject, "Mm I can help with ship chores, like cooking" said Hocha after thinking for a few seconds.

"Olvia can do that, and besides it's not something very useful on this trip, even I could make a simple meal" refuted Yamamoto.

"Then I can help with other tasks, like hoisting sails and stuff" said Hocha without giving up, "Roche and Gram are enough for that" said Yamamoto.

"You..." said Hocha as she tried to look for something else she could help with on the trip, "Okay... you win" she said giving up, as she sat with her arms crossed.

"It's good that you understand, so what's the best island to get supplies?" asked Yamamoto as he looked toward Olvia. All eyes turned to her, as she knew the most about these things.

"Mm, in terms of proximity, the best option would be the Kingdom of Ilisia, we will be about 3 days away. The problem is that it is a kingdom affiliated with the World Government" said Olvia frowning, by the fact of being affiliated with the Government made it a much more dangerous place than the others.

"And the other option?" asked Yamamoto, although he is willing to take risks, he prefers to avoid some if possible.

"It would be Kano Country, we would arrive in about 10 days" replied Olvia.

Yamamoto frowned, 10 days of travel was too much between there and back they would have 20 days, plus a couple of days they would stay in the country to buy everything and look for their long awaited side mission.

"Do you know anything about this country?" asked Yamamoto as this name became familiar to him, but he couldn't remember from where.

"Yes, it was one of the places I visited on my two-year trip. It is a country that is not affiliated with the World Government, this makes it a country... turbulent let's say" explained Olvia.

"The Chinjao family has a lot of power in this country and the leader of this family is a very famous pirate" she added finishing with the explanation.

*Chinjao family I finally remember! He was the old man who fought with Luffy in the coliseum and hated Garp for bashing his head in or something...* thought Yamamoto remembering this old man, although now he would be several years younger.

Yamamoto saw these two options with the same range of danger, on the one hand, a kingdom affiliated with the World Government, on the other hand, a country where there is no order and Chinjao is a pirate who has a great reward and is in his prime.

"We will go to the Kingdom of Ilisia" said Yamamoto making the final decision. He made this decision because it was much closer than Kano Country.

In both Kano Country and Ilisia Kingdom they will cross paths with the marines who must be looking for them all over the West Blue. In the country of Kano, they will also encounter many pirates, especially Chinjao who Yamamoto recalled had a bounty of more than 500,000,000 bellys.

So he prefers to face the marines alone, while looking for supplies and more than anything his secondary mission, although he could take advantage of his 50% strength card to kill several powerful opponents, he preferred not to do so and save this card in case of emergency.

"Get all your things ready. Lastly, Lego and another marine will accompany us on the journey" Yamamoto said, looking towards the marines who were further back and handcuffed.

Lego was surprised by the latter, but quickly responded with respect, "As you command, I will select the best man," although he and his fellow marines had been prisoners for the past month, used as labor, neither he nor his companions felt resentment towards Yamamoto.

Even in the past month, as they interacted with Saul and the other archaeologists, they learned about the history of the archaeologists and how they were nearly exterminated by the World Government. This made them feel a sense of shame for being part of the marines. They firsthand knew how dark this organization could be.

So, upon learning that Yamamoto had protected the archaeologists, their respect for him grew each day, especially because he didn't kill them and gave them another chance, showing that he wasn't like the others.

Finally, Yamamoto and Hocha bid farewell to everyone and headed home to prepare for setting sail early tomorrow morning.
