So That's How It Works

Ulrick with the mod in hand inspected it to find out more information about how his system worked. The Ammo drum mod looked just like the mod card in the game it had a picture of a warframe shooting down a bunch of infested (Note: you don't need to know what infested are). The card also had 5 none glowing circles at the bottom which indicated how much the card has been upgraded and how many times that it can be upgraded. The only noticeable difference between the card Ulrick had and the one in the game was that there were no polarities on the card. In the game, polarities limited the types of cards you can place in one of the limited slots available to customize your weapons and frames.

"wholly shit no polarity or a capacity amount that means that I can equip any mod whenever I get it without care for some kind of cost unlike in the game. That's awesome but how do I upgrade my mods. I may hate ammo drum but it's the only mod I got so I better max it out before I equip it".

Ulrick fiddled and tapped on the mod to see if that worked but nothing happened. Staying calm and patient Ulrick then decided to pull up his load out hud and go to the mods section. The mods section had a long list of possible cards that Ulrick could obtain but only 1 none grayed out mod. Ulrick clicked on the none grayed out card but a message popped up telling him to place the card inside the interface to proceed. Ulrick complied and the mod got absorbed into the hud screen.

After clicking the mod again Ulrick saw what he needed to upgrade the mod and was immediately pissed off.

"600,000 berries you got to be kidding me and that's the cheapest option to fully max out ammo drum it will cost 3 million berries. There is no way I'm paying that much just for a shit mod like ammo drum. I wouldn't even wipe my ass with ammo drum let alone pamper it to that degree".

Furious Ulrick snatched the mod out of the hud and held it in his hand.

"To hell with all that I'll just equip the mod directly. The mod may be shit but at least it's better than nothing".

Ulrick glared at the mod in his hand then at his rife. He had no idea how to make a card fuse with a gun so he just slammed the two objects together and hoped that worked and surprisingly it did. The gun shimmered for a second then turned back to normal. Ulrick looked at the gun but found no change. Remembering the effect of the mod Ulrick decided to reload his rifle. It was easy finding extra bullet since there were over a dozen dead guys all over the beach. It was a strange experience reloading the rifle because to Ulrick the guns in one piece always looked so archaic but were able to shoot multiple times without stopping. Through his actions, Ulrick gained a level of enlightenment he never thought he would reach. After reloading the rifle Ulrick discovered that his modded gun can hold 11 bullets while the none modded ones can hold 10.

"wow, 1 extra bullet that was truly worth my time. Whatever let me just see if this card can be extracted and placed on my pistol".

As soon as Ulrick willed the card to come out it did quite easily but when he tried to apply the card to his pistol it wouldn't combine. Ulrick recognized the reason for this problem was because of restrictions on the card like in the game. Ammo drum is a card that can only be used on primary weapons like the rifle and not a secondary weapon like the pistol and especially not melee weapons.

While Ulrick was experimenting he discovered something strange about the rifle he removed the mod from. When he shook it he heard a jingling sound inside the gun. A quick look allowed him to discover that the gun was broken and the reason for that was because there was too much ammo stuffed inside it.

"These mods are truly magical they can completely alter an object while not increasing its weight shape or design in any way. But when there removed whatever the mods are affecting will transform back to normal. It's nice to know that my system isn't complete shit with this I might be able to scrape up some way to survive".

Ulrick didn't care about the loss of the rifle there were a dozen just like it everywhere on the floor. Understanding the jist about how his system works Ulrick decided to gear up. He took the best gear that he could find Ulrick even took the pants off a dead guy and wore them to store extra ammo since his syfy suit had no pockets.

Fully decked out in whatever gear he could carry Ulrick decided to seek shelter. He thought about hunting down the guy that tried to kill him since he left a pretty obvious blood trail. But in the end, he decided against that. That pirate was just one of the many dangers in the city let alone the world. Hunting him down would be too risky and provide little benefit in exchange. Plus Ulrick just got to the world he may have killed a person but he had not suddenly become a heartless man that will hunt down every person he sees. Not only that but Ulrick knew that he was inexperienced in too many areas to get the job done. With that in mind, Ulrick fully stuck with the safest choice.

To anyone that sees the slightest shread of potential in my fanfic please leave a review. I know their aren't a lot of chapters now for you to really judge its potential but you must understand this fanfic is not my main writing focus. I have an original novel named unusual world. This novel is for fun I don't want too keep writing a novel that will get no recognition. Leave any review just to get this novel off the ground
