Becoming The Hero

Slowly and quietly Ulrick crept into the ally between two buildings. He kept his pistol firmly in his hands as he aimed it forward. He didn't use the rifle because Ulrick wasn't stupid enough to believe a rifle was the best choice in close-quarters combat. Smoke and screams of people running in terror emanated from all over. These sound of pirates joyfully chasing down those people was equally close by. Beads of sweat dripped down from Ulrick's face as he nervously proceeded down the ally.
At the end, Ulrick peered from behind the corner only to see a disturbing sight. Pirates were ripping people out of their homes and forcing everyone to kneel on the ground. Some men tried to fight them off but they were beaten down. The woman were screaming and crying along with some of the children that they held in their hands. The end result was quite predictable. It bloody and unnerving to watch especially for someone who isn't used to seeing that kind of stuff. But in the end, Ulrick watched on in silence as he tried to close his heart off from it all because he knew that if he didn't get used to the situation quick that was going to be his brains decorating the floor.
"So, this is the dark side of one piece that rarely gets shown. What happened here was terrible but at the end of the day I'm not Luffy and I'm definitely not a saint. Those people are on their own just like how I know they would leave me and run away if I was in a similar situation and asked for help. Of which I already did and it got me fuck all from the navy, so ya fuck them. Besides these people aren't really there just characters in a show background characters at that. Why should it matter if they die? Ya, it doesn't matter because they aren't real".
Ulrick's lip quivered and a few tears streamed down his face as he tried to kill any kind of humanity in his heart in order to survive this cruel new world.
"But, it all feels so real. If its fake why does it hurt so much to watch? What kind of sick bastard brought me into this world and why? To bring order with a gun and blade as the voice said. But what kind of order can I bring with a gun and blade, why me?".
Ulrick continued to stay in that ally and waited in silence until the pirates left in search of new prey. Once Ulrick confirmed they were all gone he snuck over to the bodies. Most of their bodies were full of bullet holes except for a few like the those who fought back they were carved up with a sword. Ulrick didn't look at the poor states of their bodies for long though he didn't want to. He was looking for more loot balls but didn't find any.
"So, only the people I kill drop loot. There's too little information to be sure I'll have to experiment with this later".
Disappointed with the results Ulrick then checked the bodies for any money or valuables. Ulrick found about 10,000 barries from all the bodies which is like 100 dollars U.S, so not a lot. The pirates that Ulrick ran into were not interested in looting they only wanted to experience the joys of killing people. That's why Ulrick was able to find jewelry on some of the bodies. After that Ulrick opened up his hud for a quick experiment. In the hud, it displays his balance still at Zero despite him holding a bunch of money in his hands. Seeing this made Ulrick place the money inside his hud. His hand and the money disappeared when he reached in. It was a strange but refreshing feeling for Ulrick as he touched what felt like water but also jelly.
After he pulled out his hand the money was gone but his balance increased to almost 10k. Ulrick rick did the same to the pile of jewelry he took and watched his balance increase by 5k.
"I know i'm not supposed to speak lf the dead, but jeez most of the jewelry was wedding rings how cheap were these guys when they bought them. Forget about that let's just see how much this system can take in".
Ulrick attempted to do the same thing with some of the peoples' clothes but none of those things would enter it including his guns.
"So, this thing only takes money, gold, and jewelry. Why the fuck don't I have a dimensional storage like every other cunt with a system? This is such a rip-off".
Finished testing what he wanted Ulrick proceeded forward. He stuck to the sideline as he weaved through every obstacle in the town. He completely avoided any areas that had even a whiff of a large group gathering and even opted to run through blazing buildings because it was the safest option present. Ulrick tried locating a safe location to hide out in but wherever he looked it just didn't look like such a place existed. Ulrick's advancement through the city proceeded smoothly until a terrified girl ran towards the direction he was hiding in.
Ulrick was in another dark ally but this time behind a large trash bin. It was hard to see his figure unless you were looking for him since his suit blended in with the night extremely well. The girl ran down the ally tired and afraid from three guys that followed passionately behind her every step as they gazed at her luscious form with lust filled eyes.
This was bad Ulrick could tell that those three guys were a part of a bigger group because some of their friends were shouting to hurry up and bring the girl back to them. As Ulrick looked at the weary weary girl he could tell that she was tired but had enough energy to pass by his hiding spot yet not enough energy to escape her pursuers who were gaining on her.
This led to a lot of problems because even if Ulrick wasn't noticed by the pirates the first time they pass by him they will the second time when they bring the girl back down the same way they came. At that point, Ulrick will be cornered inside of an ally with no exit.
At that point in time, the girl ran past Ulrick's hiding spot. Not long after so did the first pirate then the second and when the third was about to pass him by Ulrick came to a decision.
"Fine if that's how fate wants to be I'll play the hero just this once".
As soon as the third pirate rushed past his position Ulrick followed behind his shadow with his pistol in his hand. With each step, Ulrick got closer until he was close enough to snatch the pistol holstered on the guy's hip. The pirate felt it when Ulrick stole his gun so he turned around to see who it was. When he did the pirate only saw the barrel of a gun an inch from his face before it spewed out fire and roared like thunder alerting everyone in the ally. The other two pirates alarmed by what they heard turned around to see what was going on. Ulrick gave those two no time to respond. He pointed both guns at those pirates and shot them dead right where they stood. Their bodies tumbled to the ground just like their friend. Ulrick paid no mind to that and quickly rushed to pick the 3 glowing orbs on the floor. He didn't inspect them because he had no time. Ulrick could hear the rest of the pirates coming towards the ally.
The girl looked at Ulrick with a shocked and stupid look on her face. Ulrick having no time for that yelled at her and said, "what the fuck are you still doing here. Move your fat ass or stay there to be the distraction and cover my ass".
The girl wasn't sure what to say she didn't expect her savior to yell at her like that. A second later the girl ran away while shouting thank you from a distance. As she ran off a pirate popped out from the corner and walked into the ally. Ulrick shot that man in the chest then shouted, "come get me you limp dick cunts".
