Misunderstandings

After I said that Hiyori just turned away from me, crouched down and started to drawing circles in the dirt.

"… Hiyori?"

"…." I could physically see the air of depression around me because of this misunderstanding between us.

"Hiyori I'm sorry okay? Your a very beautiful woman and any man would be glad to have you as a wife."

"… except you right? You like Mama more…."

"Then are you okay being in a relationship with me while I'm also in a relationship with your mother?"

"…"

"See? Plus I want to know the real reason you want to be in a relationship with me, just one look of me looking longingly in your direction shouldn't be enough for you to fall for me." I was genuinely confused as to why she would say that as her reason, I have several better reasons why and soon enough my thoughts were correct as what she said was.

"It's just…. I thought our feelings were mutual for each other, you saved me from the clutches of that horrible man Orochi and all those other despicable men who were after my body while I was an Orian, and you even reunited me with my mother who I thought had died nearly 20 years ago, and on top of all that you have given some of the people of this country hope for a better future, sure you maybe have dealings with Orochi and Kaido, but I know deep down that you don't actually like them and are just using them for profit, though I don't like how you also don't want to open up Wano but if what you said is true about the outside world, then you maybe right for us to wait until you finish this Final War of yours before opening Wano up for the world to see, that's why when I look at you I see the ideal man in my eyes, even if you have plenty of other women by you I also wanted to stand by your side as well not as an ally but as a partner….. but…." She then goes silent.

"But I also have feelings for your mother and your feeling complicated about that right?"

"… Yes…" she says sadly.

"Hiyori…. I'm not gonna say that I'm not happy about your confession and I would accept as my woman without a doubt in my mind, but because I've also fallen in love with your mother and if we got together that would in a way make me your step father, unless you somehow convinced her I don't think it's a good idea to have a relationship…."

"But what if she rejects you?" She says with a bit of hope in her voice.

"….. I don't know then, but I won't give up that easily….. Hiyori I'm a selfish and greedy scumbag of a man but because of what you said I want you both to be mine….. but I know that I'm asking to much of you if I wanted both you and your mother for myself…"

"…. Bastard…."

"I know…"

"….. even though she's almost 40 now…"

"Age is but a number to me so long as there is love…."

"… She still misses and loves my father you know?"

"And I plan to fill that hole in her heart then love her for the rest of her life so that she is no longer alone in this world." I say with a look of determination in my eyes.

"... before you do that…. Would you let me talk with my mother first?" She said while looking at me with up turned eyes.

In all honesty even though she said all those things that I did for her and her family, she didn't really understand why she fell for me all that well, but I came to believe in the saying that 'love is blind' and that it made her easily ignore that I was a bastard that had multiple women for himself and that the fact her father tried to do the same made it less strange in her mind.

So after we said what needed to be said and knew of each other's feelings the next thing I needed to do was wait to hear back from Toki and hear her response to what I said to Hiyori.

And I didn't hear a response for a few days, then again I couldn't stay in Kibi for long periods of time even though it was my part of Wano that I ran personally, until Hiyori came to me and brought me with her to discuss the matter with Toki.

When I was brought over she was currently watering Alenu who was enjoying himself it seems and possibly sometime in the future he might even evolve as well.

"Hiyori, Eagle-sama, please have a seat will have a talk after I finish." She said motioning over to the picnic blanket that she had laid out as well as a basket that was nearby, and I could smell the food inside it and know it was delicious, that was one of the many things that I fell in love with her about, out of all my women in my life she was the only one that was housewife/mother material.

So soon enough we took our seats and waited for Toki to finish watering Alenu which didn't take her that long to finish before putting away the watering can and coming to sit with us.

"Now before we talk let's eat, I know that you two must be hungry." She says with a smile as she opens the basket before setting out some plays and putting some sandwiches on them for us to enjoy.

And might I add that her food was delicious, not on the level of a professional chef like say Sanji or me, but it had the charm of being made by a woman that put all her love into making which made me want to be with her more.

But after we had finished our sandwiches we fell into a bit of an awkward silence, though this was more for me and Hiyori as Toki just smiled at us before deciding to speak.

"So I have heard that my daughter confessed to you Eagle-sama, well I wouldn't say that I'm not glad to hear my little girl all grown up and finding a love of her own." She says while holding her cheeks with a big smile on her face.

"MAMA!!!"

"But…. I have also heard that…. Your also interested in being with me as well…." Toki says rather shyly at the thought that someone else has fallen in love with her

"Toki.. I.."

"But I want to tell you both something before we continue."

"What is that mama?" Hiyori says rather confused since her mother was getting oddly serious but not about the possibly of being in a relationship with Eagle.

"No, what I want to tell you both of my story, well maybe not my whole story, but the story that I came to believe would have been my final moments of my life all those years ago, and the story of the Ghost of Kozuki Oden…." She says with a somber expression as she recounts the events of that faithful day back to us both and how she arrived here in the present over 3 years ago.
