I have been updating you all every now and then with updates on irl issues and the like and since those were really just updates I didn't see it fit to inform the fans of this fanfiction that I starting after Haruta's exploration of the ancient temple I am HEAVILY changing the DxD story and that I have decided on potential a potential pairing(s) for Haruta that will be brought into the limelight in due time.)

Looking around the room Serafall couldn't help but shake her head and sigh in exasperation at the current situation... Over the last few hours of the meeting, the talks have basically dissolved down into senseless arguing and screaming. In the beginning, things started off relatively calm and though, there was tension everyone still had a firm grip of their emotions yet as the discussions progressed things gradually became more heated. Shifting her gaze to her fellow Satan, Serafall couldn't help but sigh again... Currently Sirzechs-Lucifer formerly, Sirzechs-Gremory sat with an expression as though he just ate a pile of dog shit. She couldn't really blame him if her precious Sona-tan were marrying that vile filth, excuse of a man Raiser she too would be upset, just thinking of such a possibility made her want to kill that insufferable bastard... After unsuccessfully trying to appeal to the elders to cancel the marriage between Rias Gremory heiress of the Gremory clan and Raiser Phenex the spoiled, perverted, conceited, and narcissistic heir of the Phenex clan Sirzechs sat dispirited. Though with his authority as one of the 4 devil kings Sirzechs could forcefully null the marriage, however, doing such a thing would not only shame himself but his father, the title of devil king, his sister, and even the Gremory clan as a whole, and on top of all of that though Rias would be elated his father and the Elders would be furious. The elders because of the fact that two pure-blooded clans were not wedded together, whilst his father because his promise would be broken. A man of his status breaking his promise could potentially lead to even more unwanted problems especially within the inner-circle of high-ranking devils.

" Esteemed elders are you sure there isn't anything that can be done about the marriage between my sister and Raiser....." said Sirzechs practically begging, his usually bright eyes darkened and slightly covered by his long crimson hair.

" With the current amount of pure-blooded devils and our abysmal birth-rate coupled with the fact that there have been an increasingly suspicious amount of devils going missing on simple assignments as well as the promise of marriage between your father Lord Gremory and Lord Phenex there is simply nothing that we can do but simply accept the fact that your sister is to be wed to the heir of the Phenex clan whether you like it or not." said an elder with wrinkled, spotted skin and balding white hair breaking Serafall out of her inner musings.

"But-"

"SILENCE!!" cried out the old man causing silence to reign over the previously noisy room.

" It is for the sake of the entire devil race! As this is the case there will be no if, and's, or buts about it! Now, this is the last time that I will say this to you, my decision, as well as the decision of the council, is final..." the old man's voice rang out across the room. Sirzechs expression darkened further and he seemed to visibly age a few years as his back hunched over ever so slightly, though, subtle enough for anyone not perceptive enough to know the difference, still a far cry from his former straightened posture.

Perking up slightly Serafall cleared her throat before saying. " Esteemed elders-" only to be interrupted by the ringing of a cell phone.

Serafall blinked once, then, twice, and a third time before realizing that the source of the ringing was coming from her, causing her to lower her head slightly as her skin began to flush a bright red from embarrassment though, it was not discernible for people without a certain level of observational skills. Though there was no particular rule against it, it was a well-known fact that cell phones were not allowed during council meetings be they the annual meetings that happen every year or an emergency meeting that is only called when something of utmost importance needs to be discussed.

Coming out of her stupor Serafall quickly reached into her pocket in order to silence the phone inwardly screaming at herself that she should have just left it at home. Before, remembering that her phone is set to a particular setting where all calls are automatically directed to voice-mail unless it is from a number registered on a list named 'important' of which the numbers on this list are allowed through to her phone.

Standing up from her chair Serafall turned to the elderly man who had spoken previously before bowing and saying;" Esteemed elder may I be excused to take this call? Only calls that are deemed important are allowed through, and I fear that it is an emergency." in a polite an respectful manner.

Putting on a thoughtful expression the elder seemed to contemplate over the request before saying, "Very well, as the meeting has already gotten out of hand and we are making no progress in our current discussion I deem it unnecessary for us to continue to be at each other throats. As such, this meeting is dismissed." before, standing from his own chair and heading towards the door to the room.

Sighing in relief that the elder did not seem offended Serafall quickly conjured a magic circle under her that quickly rose to swallow her in a flash of blue light.
