Phone Call

After that little skit with Mira we returned to the 'cabin' on top of the mountain along with Mira as the use I had for her was to get me to the other continent where Canon is, well its not there yet, but you know what I mean.

Now you might be saying why don't you just use your [Portal] skill or just fly across, and I've got the answer to that question.

For the [Portal] it'll take mana that I don't have, and I can only go to places I've been or where my party members are.

The flying part is because to get to the other side I'd need to fly across a vast ocean that is filled with monsters as strong or stronger than that Dragon Lord, and right now I still can't beat that Dragon Lord, so I need to find out how to get to the other side, and I fell this woman has the answer to that question.

"W-wow...such a...n-nice home." Mira complimented the destroyed 'cabin' with both a forced expression and voice.

"No it's not, It wasn't even okay before, but it just became worse when this kid decided to destroy it." I pointed at the child behind us.

"Hey! I'm older than you!" Boreas rebuked.

"Shut up, I can make you stay that age for eternity." I threatened.

"Try me."

"U-um, sir's can you tell me why I-I'm here?" Mira asked as she fiddled with her fingers.

"Ah. Don't worry I don't want you for your body." I tried to ease her nerves.

"Huh? Why would you want my body?" Mira tilted her head as she inspected her body to look for any use in it. "*Gasp!*, don't tell me...You want to eat me!?"

"Jesus Christ, where'd you get that from? Can you believe this woman Boreas?" I turned to Boreas, but instead of getting confirmation I was instead being looked down on like an idiot. "What?"

"Haah~." Boreas pinched the bridge of his nose as he left the destroyed cabin.

'What's his problem?' I thought.

"Ahem! No I don't want to eat you, I wanna know how you got onto this continent." I fixed her misunderstanding, again.

"Oh." Mira blushed at her misunderstanding. "It was by a potion I made to become invisible to everything, so that I could fly across the waters without any dangers except for exhaustion." Mira answered.

"Aaannddd, do you have more?" I asked.

"Mm, I should have about, 10 more in my spatial pouch." Mira nodded as she tapped her side. "Ah..." Mira's eyes lost color as she realized she touched only her side.

"You dropped it in that pit didn't you?" I deadpanned.

"...All my work..." However it seemed that Mira was in her own world of depression, and could not hear a sound I made.

"Well, I'll leave you to yourself." I waved at Mira as I left the 'cabin'.

After leaving Mira to sort herself out, I jumped on top of a tree branch and sat there to mess with some of my new system features.

[Stream Started]

An illusionary camera appeared in the air and pointed at me.

"Everyone's gotta start from somewhere." I stared at the number 0 in sadness.

[Viewers 0 ---> 1]

[Second Born has entered the stream]

"Oooh my first viewer."

[Second Born says "hello" and waves]

"Hello to you too." I waved at the camera.

[Second Born asks "how is my favorite doing?"]

'Favorite?'

"I'm doing fine thank you?"

*Ring* *Ring*

I heard the sound of a phone going off and looked down, only to see a phone on my lap.

'How did that get there?'

[Second Born says "pick it up"]

"Alright." I shrugged and answered the phone.

"Hello Lucious~." A feminine and sensual voice penetrated my ears, and just from the voice alone I gained a hard on.

"*Cough!* *Cough!*" I fell out of the tree in a coughing fit to regain my dignity.

"Cute." I heard the woman laugh in my ear even though the phone wasn't even in my hand, and was actually on the floor a few meters away from me.

'Arthur what are you doing? Don't let this witch mess with your emotions!' I calmed myself down and picked up the phone.

"What do you want from me woman?" I asked with mild calmness.

"Awww~, why'd you go and calm down? I quite liked seeing your flustered face~." She continued to tease me.

"Answer the question." I demanded as I worked to keep my sanity.

"Alright~, sheesh. I was just going to tell you a few things, as I wanted there to be little secrets between us~." She explained.

"And what are those things?"

"You won't be mad if I tell you right?" The woman asked anxiously.

"Maybe."

"No! you gotta promise me!" The woman demanded.

"Sure, I promise." I said with no type of enthusiasm.

"Okay then...I was the main reason for your death, I slowed down your employers mind so that he would give delayed information, I messed with your aim a bit, I brought that James guy back to life, and I slowed down time when he shot at that bitch." The woman explained, however to me everything went in one ear and out the other, not out of anger, but opportunity.

"Why'd you call Isla a bitch?" I asked with a smirk, I was fully intent on getting back for the teasing, even now I still haven't lost my boner, but my reasoning is still here.

"I didn't." She denied with a serious voice.

"You did." I pushed.

"Didn't."

"Did."

"Didn't."

"Did..."

We then went on for a good 5 minutes before it was her who gave up.

"So what if I did?" The woman growled.

"I'm just curious." I shrugged.

"Because she has dared to touch my property." She answered.

"Property? what property?" I questioned.

"..." However I was met with no response.

"Hey! Are you talking about me!?" I realized as those two should have nothing in common except for me.

"..." Again I got no response.

"You are! I'm not pro-."

"Ahem, I am deeply sorry, but I must go do...things."

"Hey!-"

*Beep*

'She really just hung up on me.'
