Insect breathing: Butterfly dance : Caprice

Just as Kenji was losing hope he hard those words. Looking around he saw a blur passing by him and hitting the demon.

Standing next to the demon whose skin was slowly turning purple due to the poison that was injected by her or more precisely shinobu kocho.

Seeing the demon dying shinobu didn't even to look at it and started walking towards Kenji who was still in daze by seeing the scene unfold in front of him.

"Moshi moshi are you alright?" Her voice brought Kenji out of his daze as he took a good look at her.

Shinobu is a beautiful, petite young woman with a small frame. She has black hair with purple highlighted tips tied back into a "yakai-maki" bun using a butterfly-shaped pin. She has large deep purple eyes with no visible pupils and maintaining an innocent look on her face as she didn't do anything. Even though she just killed the demon in that way that its organs and other body parts had liquified due to poison.

Which Kenji found horrifying. Seemingly as he heard her voice he looked at her and said "t-thank you very much for saving me."

Shinobu just maintained her usual smile at his response while examining him. She must admit that he is very handsome no might be the most handsome man she had ever seen but she didn't care about it. But what caught her attention the most was his eyes and the mark on his forehead.

She guessed the mark might have been the birth mark. What she didn't understood was his eyes as the eyes with perfect sun and moon in them can't be defective.

While she was curious she still refrained from asking any questions as she introduced herself to him and explained the situation.

"Well~ my name is kocho shinobu. I am a demon slayer. The thing that attacked you was an demon and as I am a demon slayer it's my duty to kill them."

Although Kenji knew all this from the anime he still maintained an curious expression.

When shinobu finished explaining she just stared at him. Truth to be told Kenji was creeped out by those big empty pupil less eyes staring at him. So, to change the subject he introduced himself.

"My name is Sato Kenji. And again thank you for saving my life." Kenji said while bowing slightly.

Just at the moment Kenji introduced himself to shinobu the time stopped around the world and only shinobu was able to move.

Shinobu just looked curious at first but got serious as she saw everything stopped moving.

'What kind of blood demon art is this? Was there other demon beside that one? Is this some kind of illusion or is the time really stopped? But it shouldn't be possible to manipulate time? So what is happening now.' Shinobu tried to understand whatever was going on there by racking her brain for every possibility.

[Ding! System activation. Activating]

[System activation completed. ]

'what is this? System? What type of blood demon art is this?' Shinobu questioned in her mind.

[ Rest assured host. System is not any type blood demon art. System is here to only help the host in their journey.]

'How is it reading my mind? Is this really possible? Reading my mind and stopping time. It can't be a blood demon art. What should i ? Maybe this 'system' can explain this.'

[Host is correct. System can explain the current situation. Does host want an explanation?]

'. . . I see, continue' shinobu commanded while still remaining on her guard.

[The system was activated as the host met the fated person 'kenji sato'.]

'So this all the system thing happened because I met this person.' Shinobu thought while looking at Kenji who was still bowing as the time stopped.

[Yes, that is correct. Now host can see all the functions of system and also open the reward for activating system then the time will be resumed.]

Shinobu stayed silent for few moments before commanding it to show its functions.

Inventory

These are the only function but there is also a quest page and you just completed a quest now you can claim rewards of that quest.]

'Status? Inventory? Quest page must be like some missions and it just said that i completed the quest to activate the system. 'System' can you explain status and inventory?'

[Status is the functions where you can see your physical stats, skills and abilities. Inventory is an different dimension with infinite size where you can store non living things and there is no concept of time in that dimension. Quest page is just like you have said.]

After a few minutes of digesting all this information and calming herself down. Shinobu was still a bit of suspicious of the so-called system which was cleared when she got her rewards.

[Quest : Meet the fated person and activate the system.

Rewards: Improvement in physique to the level of the strongest being which is alive of your race.

Quest completed !

When Shinobu saw system message she felt warm in her whole body though it didn't rather she felt very comfortable.

'Is this really true? Is my physique really increased but my muscles are still the same ther don't look any bulky. At which level is it increased, I'm human so who is the strongest human being alive?'

[It is stone hashira Gyomei himejima which is strongest human being alive right now. ]

'Himejima san? I knew he was strong but the strongest human being alive It is really impressive. WAIT you can stop time, read mind, make someone strong then . . . can you revive the dead?' shinobu asked with hope in her heart which was soon shattered.
