Start of the Journey

Minerva really liked buttered toast. It wasn't the usual sweet and creamy kind of butter, it would be more correct to say that it tasted more like a flower, in fact the butter from the Faerie Kingdom came through the use of a special cream in it's process. This cream was aptly called flower cream as it is a type of cream that comes from the Flower Spirits that inhabit almost every flower within the Faerie Kingdom. The population of Flower Spirits is much higher than Faeries due to the Faerie's excessive use of flowers as a decoration, but their power is very miniscule and they have a great relationship with Faeries, so there is no worry there. The black tea with milk she was drinking looked a lot more like discoloured milk with the amount she put in, but of course if she never liked it she wouldn't have it this way. Actually on the current note of food within the Faerie Kingdom, the majority would have mana within them otherwise Faeries wouldn't actually like it that much and if Faeries were to not eat any food with mana in it they will eventually enter a weakened mana state. This would be quite a disadvantage for Faeries as they are heavily reliant on mana, but when considering the world they are in then perhaps it wouldn't be a problem.

The reason why Minerva was happy wasn't just due to the food in front of her but her parents agreed for her to go exploring with this party. She had been worrying about this as she wanted to leave abruptly before they had time to think about it and stop her but then the problem with the time came, so she assumed they would force her to stay. But of course in the end she'd find a way to escape. However the attitude of her parents surprised her, they almost seemed nonchalant about it as if they expected this sooner or later and they also seemed quite nostalgic. In fact, the time when her two parents, Gardenia and Quinn met each other was exactly the same way. Quinn was a Faerie who loved to explore and he was often talked about as people really admired him, when he got the Sword Faerie title a certain young Princess wanted to join his party and go exploring with him. This young Princess at the time was naturally the current Queen.

But that is all in the past now as they are mostly just parents who knows what's best for their child, learning from outdoor experience is invaluable as someone with a right to the throne. Yet they don't plan on dying anytime soon, so there is a real possibility that she would just forever be a Princess.

The day started off peaceful, after having their food for the morning they got prepared with the necessary things to survive for their journey. For now they were going to complete the E-Rank quests which the party previously accepted when they were last at the Explorer's Guild. It was actually a rather beneficial combination of the quests they chose as they had to find a material and kill a certain amount of specific monsters. The quests were suitably named [Kill 100 Demon Horn Squirrels] and [Collect 10 small Demon Horns]. If it was too hard to guess, the Demon Horn Squirrels have a 1/10 chance of finding one with a small Demon Horn., extremely convenient.

E-Rank Quest do not have a punishment for failure as they are rather insignificant and there are hundreds of Explorers accepting these quests daily. The rewards grant money which can then be spent on equipment and potions, and of course other things if you so wish. Coins are split into different categories.

10 Bronze Coins -> 1 Copper Coin (equivalent to a loaf of bread)

10 Copper Coins -> 1 Silver Coin (equivalent to 3 night's stay with food included at a regular inn)

10 Silver Coins -> 1 Gold Coin (equivalent to a Green piece of equipment)

10 Gold Coins -> 1 Dark Gold Coin (equivalent to purchasing a small property)

10 Dark Gold Coins -> 1 Credit (equivalent to a Blue piece of equipment)

A regular commoner in the Human Empire would make around 1 Dark Gold Coin every year, but this excludes poorer people. It would seem like quite a lot but they do not get much freedom in terms of food, they can have the bare necessities but would have to save for anything substantial. This is also why being Explorers is so attractive, although there is a chance of dying but the money that can be made is lucrative but of course prices related to Exploring inflated due to Merchants and their greed for profits. However having stronger equipment means you can go further so everything balances out in the end.

The Sun was still rising and had yet to reach the middle of the sky, along with clouds and various creatures flying in the air you could see 3 planets. One is a green colour and the closest one to Niva, another is a mustard colour and is the second farthest. The furthest one away is quite hard to see due to it's distance and its colour, blue. At the gate to the Royal Capital Ensledonn there was a Human, a Humme, a Giant, a Yuki-onna and a Faerie. The Faerie was quite ahead of the party, flying through the gate and off into the distance whilst the rest of her party were struggling to keep up with her and the Human was frantically shouting for her to stop.

Naturally the Faerie stopped, but only for a second to show them her mischievous grin and the glint in her eyes. After that she flew off in the direction of the nearest Forest to the Faerie Kingdom, which is called the Twinkling Woods. All kinds of monsters and creatures live here, including the infestuous Demon Horn Squirrel. From what Katelyn knew, the Demon Horn Squirrel was a fire-based creature that uses flame-imbued attacks, therefore unless you are skilled at close quarters then it is best to kill them at range.

There are other special types of items that Minerva and Party will eventually come across. These Rarities are used as most of Niva's player base are used to it and there is no point changing to something new as it would be rather confusing. They are based off equipment levels as well, e.g. although it is extremely improbable but you could get a Gray Coloured God level item. This would truly make people spit blood.
