Chapter One

Passing by Tsuki no Hokora which I remembered from the death game I decided on something. Stopping for a second my entire get up that screams war changed. Stretching out lazily I looked at my now more fancy get up. Chimeradite toed combat boots, blood red socks, black dress pants, a black vest, a dark purple button up shirt, a mangled untied tie, Chimeradite played combat gloves, and a black armored duster. Chuckling I pulled the hat and mask off my head, a smiling theater mask and a fedora. Putting the back on I looked the part of a certain theatrical sniper. Fenris eyed my new look and chuckled a bit wearily.

"Ah the Jester set…. Please don't shove a knife up my ass this time."

"I won't if you behave because I'm wearing this till I need my war face."

"If this is your 'casual face' then consider me on my best behavior. Because you seriously do horrible things dressed like that."

Chuckling we neared the gate while I studied the up coming guards. Decent but not hard to snap their necks suddenly if needed. Stopping a few feet away from them I gave a small wave as one placed a hand on their sword hilt. I just sorta stared at them with Fenris sitting beside me yawning. The other just walked over and started talking to me. Pleasant fellow.

"Welcome to the Bayreuth Kingdom's capital city. How can we help you sir?"

Hearing the guards rather relaxed voice as he spoke to me since I wasn't doing anything bad. I tipped my hat at him a bit and decided to return the treatment.

"Looking to sign up the advrnturers guild to get an ID as I'm deciding to move on from merc work. Would say I have money to pay the entrance fee but some fuckers with a capable thief mugged me on the way here. Tried taking more from me but when heads start popping bandits flee."

"Well damn that sucks but I can understand that pain a bit. I can certainly give you a temporary entry permit so you can go to the guild and get things sorted. Just please make sure to have the guild deduct the payment from any reward fees. As for your monster friend are they able to be have and not attack citizend suddenly?"

"Yeah my big girl can behave just fine she only gets testy at pricks or threats. Which can't blame a canine can you? They place the pack first."

The guard smiled at us and pulled a treat from a bag on his waist offering it to Fenris. She looked at him curiously before leaning in and gently biting the treat from his hand. Seems she liked it as her tail is wagging slightly. The smiling a little more as he reached over slowly and scratched her ears.

"Part of my job is meeting the rare few monster companions of people. So I usually have treats on me for those I see often. Anyways let me go get a temporary entry permit for you two, be right back."

"Thank ya kindly good man."

Watching the guard walk off back to his post into a door along the gate. I chuckled at Fenris and mentioned something I noticed.

"So its not Geyl in use but Jul is it? Because observing a pouch on his waist told me this era's currency."

She gives a side glance and tap one claw to the ground. We could use the tamer mental chat but its best for now we look a bit normal. Getting my answer I thought of how to safely get us some Jul legally. Then thought of using one of my misc skills I used for disguises [Charming Voice: Rank 8] to do a small side show as I do have a guitar in my inventory. Voicing this idea to her Fenris tilted her head before thumping her paws in a rythem. Chuckling at her affirmative I thought of which songs I could sing. That was when the rather pleasant guard returned with a small permit papper. Handing it to me as I pocketed it I decided to ask him about the idea. He scratched his chin a bit before smiling at us.

"As long as its not disruptive I see no problem with it. Best bet would be near the market square which its honestly a nice idea to get you enough to register and then some. When I get off duty I'll get my daughter and come to watch you both."

Chuckling softly I tipped my fedora at the guard and with a sleight of hand made a puff of smoke. My right hand out stretched as a small rabbit doll appeared in my hand, offering it to the guard. He was surprised at my little trick but smiled gratefully and took the doll. Waving a goodbye we headed through the city gate with small but seemingly carefree steps. Fenris giving me a small shit eating grin at my previous action. Just because my heart is dead don't mean I'm a ruthless bastard. I did occasionally help at one of the orphanage for stranded child player's in the death game.

With some twitst and turns along with some directions we did finally find the market. Getting ourselves set up in a nice little spot I made a acoustic guitar appear from thin air. Tuning it bit for the first song I let Fenris hold my fedora with her teeth' buttom up for tips. My messy brown hair blowing a bit due to a small gent breeze. Getting the guitar tuned I remember the old song "Together Till The End" by HeyHiHello. Tapping my left foot to the ground gently I start strumming the guitar strings. My voice starting out slow and softly.

A small gathering forming up with interest. My foot tapping gently while I slowly sway and dance to a rythem. My gloved fingers strumming along the cords carefully and a calmly. My voice becoming a steady soft tone as I sung the song. Starting up the next segment I cause Fenris to dance along since I started nudging her along at times. Her black fog retreating leaving the view of a glossy black furred wolf.

Tipping the guitar down a bit I lightly danced around Fenris's tail as she tried smacking me with it. The wolf monster actually getting a little into the small dance as her head bobbed with my hat. Some people in our little crowd humming slightly and finding the music pleasant. A Dragnil child with a little blue and white sundress running over and putting a few Jul into the hat. Fenris gently dancing up to her side and rubbing the kid gently before the young Dragnil retreated to her parents.

This little love sappy segment got a few in the crowd to smile and get a little affectionate. Me and Fenris though brushed by each other in our little dance. My guitar strumming out a soft melody while my feet lightly tap the ground. Her claws lightly causing small clicks from the scratching it.

Taking this small chance at a musical break we just danced around each other with slow and steady movements. The guitar beat winding down a bit as we looked at each other. The closing segment for this song coming up so I add a little of an upbeat flare. My voice raising to softly emphasize the last bit.

Letting the cord be struck the sound of my guitar slowly died out. Our dance coming to an end as I did a little theatrical bow. Fenris stretching out and holding the hat out to the crowd. From that alone we got a good amount of Jul. But to be safe I retune the guitar for another song and decide on a more somber but happy one for some people. With "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa.

Starting out slow with my right foot tapping on the ground I closed my eyes. Faces and names flashing through my head as I strummed and sung the song. My mood dropping slightly but I don't loose the beat or slight upbeat.

I could hear some people slowly humming a low sad tune. My hat being placed on the ground with Fenris starting a low howl. My fingers gliding along the strings as I played the guitar. My foot tapping with a slow steady pace. Spinning a bit I feel my duster flare out and settling once more.

"Uh

Dipping the guitar slightly I cracked an eye open slightly. Glancing at my hands remembering how many times I've drenched them in blood before the death game. All the faces gone of people and monsters I could call friends and family. Gone.

Looking towards Fenris I slowly walked towards her and leaned against her sitting frame. My back against hers which lets me feel the rumbling of her body as she howls along. Heh enemies now friends.

I could feel her tail gently tapping my leg as she glanced back towards me. The crowd we've gathered have their eyes closed. Even a few obvious thugs and criminals are in the mix just enjoying the song and remembering those long gone.

Getting off from her back I walked around Fenris my companion sitting there swaying her head as she howled. Guitar and howl mixing together surprisingly well as we played this last song.

Slowing the strumming down once more as the song nears its end. My voice dipping as if I'm truly saying goodbye to somebody.

Stopping there I let the final cord hang in the air as I say the very last line. The longing in my voice.

With those words the now faint noise if the last cord stops. Everyone is quite for a bit before giving us a round applause and giving a fair amount of coin. The criminals abd adventurers actually being the kindest with their tips as they have friends who've gone recently likely. Picking up my hat that is filled with a good amount of coin, me and Fenris give a bow to the crowd along with our thanks. Putting it all into a pouch that I sneakily hide in my inventory we both move towards the guild. A member of the local crime group actually gave the directions while waving us off.

While you can't usually trust criminals if you live through wars and a death game, you pick up who trustworthy enough. We reached the guild and stepped inside which caused a few people to quite down and look at us. But a few who saw us before give a bit of a greeting and head out to carry out some jobs. Walking up to reception desk with Fenris in tow we met a young elven male, he's quite young it seems. Maybe eighty years old at best as the minimum. Greeting him we did ratger smoothly fill everything out and pay the previous bit for the gate. Fenris was registered as my tamed monster which she denied the wooden tag with a growl instead flashing her dog tags.

The elven male pulled the tag back with a wry smile but asked kindly to see one. To which Fenris lifted her front half to get her paws on the counter and offered one of the dog tags by moving her head. The guild employee taking a magical stamp tool and pressing it to the back of one. The tool glowing faintly before imprinting the tamed beast mark onto the metallic tag. With that done Fenris chuffed lightly and got off the counter her paws lightly thudding on the ground. Now it was mentioned I would've needed to take a combat test but, a few adventurers with good standing mentioned I would be fine without one.

So the receptionist issued me a guild tag which was for the lowest rank, G. Thanking them we exited the guild after I pulled out a note book and pencil noting down repeat request. The receptionist actually helpfully adding that while they seem like chores, they help in getting a better lay of future jobs from certain individuals. So with a general map by the receptionist we found and talked to a few shop keeps. Noting down specifics of what exactly they wanted under each request and how'd they like it if possible. My rather vested style of getting down how they'd like it done earned some favorability.

Our final stop was the place with the most request an orphanage run by a sister named Rashia Luzel, a Beast woman with feathery wing ears. She was surprised at first but seeing that we came about a few request she was rather happy to explain the details. Noting down the details and starting a page about her current charges, me and Fenris stayed around for a bit. Getting to know the sister a bit better as a person and to meet a few of the children. Which Fenris was grumbling as the void monster was subjected to their tender rough care. One of the kids though Millie a tiger Beast looked at me with her head tilted. Her eyes slightly glossy making me recognize what was happening. Prophecy.

"You and the puppy will make a new friend soon. I hope you can make them happy."

"Thank you little miss for the prophecy. Anything note worthy of this new friend?"

"Pregnant and betrayed by other puppies. Black fur?"

"A pregnant Black Hound? Hm interesting. Thank you for the information Millie."

Reaching out I ruffled her hair and rubbed her ears getting a giggling squeal from the little tiger girl. Chuckling I noticed that the sister looked surprised I knew what she just did but breathed softly seeing me just tease the kid. That was when some fat ass priest with some holy knight like guards entered. He blabbered about something but I tuned him out till he directed a rather disgusting look at the kids. One of the knights by him also SMELLED of miasna and the fucker actually tried to kill Fenris. Just because he's bored and because the kids seemed happy with playing with her.

"REWRITE: WAR CRIME!"

Slamming my hands together and swiftly moving them apart with a golden glow. Schematics fir a gun I had long thought of flashed through my mind. Rewrite taking that schematic and turning the unwieldy gun into a reality. Grabbing the rather monsterous Desert Eagle by the handle and pulling the trigger. A .104 hollow point round blew a small pit into the ground when the fuck jumped backwards. Raising the gun up I fired once more the knight clicking his tongue and moving out the way. The wall behind him exploding outwards entirely which causes the man to sweat. My voice drips with venom as I track him with the gun barrel.

"You think you can touch my Fenris with your murderous hands? Take a step towards us I dare you mother fucker. Being red mist will be the least of your worries!"

The priest fell on his ass while a knight dragged him backwards. My eyes still trained on the previous one as I snarl at him. The developer console in the corner of my vision moving quickly. That before he notices anything wrong I'm in front of him and planting a fist into his armored stomach. His body rippling as [Shiden Body Rippling Blow: Rank 6] activated sending him flying through a wall.

"Have a fucking unpleasant day."

The sound of the group fleeing grew distant before I waved a hand repairing the damages. Doing so through my [Architecture: Rank 9] causing the rubble and ground to fill the holes in. Which everything was silent for a bit till one of the kids started laughing his ass off. Holstering War Crime in a hidden duster holster I turned to look at Risha. Before deciding to introduce myself along with Fenris to the woman finally as we never did so honestly.

"To put your questions to rest allow me to finally introduce ourselves. Names Kaiser Lockhart, a Player of the Old Era and the lovely wolf us Fenris, a boss monster. Did you like the show?"

Risha faltered a bit trying to accept the very late introduction and what just happened. Eventually though she just said yes tgat seeing that group of holy thugs run away was a nice sight. Fenris who had almost been cut down just for cute with the kids gave a toothy smile at the sight. Millie and the other kids looking rather amused since well they fucking hate that priest. Though one boys comment made me cackle.

"That priest smelled of urine I think you made him piss himself!"
