It was one of those fancy restaurants that she likened the ingredients of each dish to gold. She was so nervous that she was not even able to taste the appetizers but when the block of juicy meat was laid down in front of her, her eyes glimmered and when she tasted it, she finally relaxed.

He was watching all of the shift in her expressions. On their way, she looked like doomsday was upon them, but when she took a bite of her steak, it was like she had been brought up to heaven. In the business scene, he is also the type of man who is incapable of waiting for things to happen but when it comes to her, he did not mind waiting. When he was sure that she was finally relaxed, he finally struck up a conversation.

"My secretary picked up this restaurant. Is it to your taste?"

She panicked for a bit but she gathered herself and nodded.

"It is good."

"That's good to hear. I thought you would not be able to taste anything since you looked so nervous earlier. I guess I should give this restaurant a five-star for calming down my date."

"D-date?"

"Our first, and many more to come."

Thankfully, she did not choke but she unknowingly drank all the contents of her wine glass.

"Sir- "

"Aidan."

"Uhm… Ai- Sir Aidan!"

He just smiled at her and it was so sweet that it unnerved her.

Why is he smiling like that? It's as if he was smiling at someone he really…

She could not dare to continue thinking of the last word. Instead, she gathered her strength to finally ask him what was weighing heavily on her mind.

"Why me?"

His eyes held many secrets behind his kind smile.

"You are the woman of my dreams."

She became so confused. She cannot begin to fathom how a man like him would dream of such a plain lady like her. There is really something wrong here!

"So then, there are so many things I want to know about you but I promise not to be hasty."

 But you are hasty.

She then felt worried about him wanting to know more about her. She is sure that he would just be like any other guy who would think she is like a plague if he knew of her situation. Even Jake did not even sit long to listen to her sob story and avoided it as much as possible, telling her that he would make sure to make her happy but, in the end, he still went for a lady who had it all.

The rain stopped and Gavin fetched him to take him to the airport. They could not even finish having dessert since he needed to go on another business trip. She got home feeling so sad as she hugged her pillow tightly, waiting for sleep to come.

That Sunday was particularly gloomy because of the rain and because her thoughts of him just wouldn't cease. The rain stopped at noon just as she was done with all of her chores that day. It was already dark when she got back from her grocery shopping when she was forced to stop in her tracks when she saw him standing at the entrance of her apartment building.

"Sir, what are you doing here?"

"There was just something I needed to ask."

"You came here to ask something? But… you just got back from your business trip. Shouldn't you be resting?"

"This is more important."

She did not know what to do. She was too afraid of what he might ask her and how much information she should give. She was not always good with words. She then realized that what scared her the most was if he would be disappointed in her and leave.

"Am I unsuitable for you?" He asked earnestly.

She was shocked to hear that question. He asked it as if he was the one who was lacking when it was clear as day that he was too much for her. She also thought of the possibility that the question was meant to insult her.

"You might be thinking now that I am insulting you because of my position in life, but no matter what my standing in life is, you believing that I am not enough for you terrifies me the most."

She felt her heart hurt. The man in front of her is also grasping at straws as much as she is because of the complex possibilities that will prevent them from being together.

What should I do? This man is just so-

She could not finish what she was thinking about because a speeding motorcycle had just passed by and splashed dirty water spectacularly at him.

"Eek!" She shrieked.

She was preparing chamomile tea in her kitchen, glancing at the bathroom door from time to time. She did not know what came over her. She just dragged him to her unit and threw him into the bathroom. She may be living in a shady-looking apartment but this is the first time she really felt like freaking out in that place.

He got out of the bathroom door and she acted like a shocked cat. He was only wearing a bathrobe and she was able to see his beautifully sculpted chest and stomach. She immediately looked down at her kettle.

"Please take a seat." She said and placed a teacup in front of him.

"Thank you."

He looked around her studio apartment.

"Minimalist?" He asked as he took a sip.

He looked delighted with the tea.

"Yes, it is fitting for this place. The wall next to you is sliding and becomes my closet. This table can be folded up."

She went to show him her concealed sofa and how she assembled it. He stood and went to see it up close but bumped his head because of her bed situated at the top of the sofa. A box fell from above.

Both of them looked immediately at the scattered contents and she froze upon recognizing each piece. She could not speak from the shock and she immediately crouched down to pick up one of them, but he also picked up something that rolled to his feet.

"Looks promising." He said as he held up the pink bunny vibrator.
