Chapter2:First Day Part I

"Wake up its almost 2nd bell"

"Just a minute Grandma...

wait, what!!! it's the second bell.

why didn't wake me up early? I am going to mess up on my first day."

"I was trying to wake you up for the past two hours but you weren't listening, why had you closed the door didn't I tell you to not do that?"

"Yes Grandma," I said and quickly got out of my bed but before opening the room I have to somehow clean the room. So I just took all papers that were lying on the floor neatly slid them under the bed and open the door.

"Why are you always so late I could never understand"

"Please give me the food I am going to," I said hurriedly.

"Yes I would prepare it, just wash your face carefully," Grandma said with an obvious look on her face.

I quickly grabbed my clothes from the closet and ran towards the armoury that was located on the backside of the house.

I stopped at the well in the backyard. I took a small amount of water just only to make my hands somewhat wet and rub that wet hand on my face and hair I used a dry cloth to wipe my face. The water was as cold as ice and just placing that wet hand on my face sent a chill through my spine.

I then ran towards the armoury and opened the wooden door. I instantly changed my clothes, the clothes contain a pair of black trousers, a white shirt and a leather tool belt.

Then took out some pieces of my armour that contains a breastplate, knee caps. Then since I am an ice mage so I wore a heavy overcoat with a hood.

Now, I grabbed my rapier and some daggers to it in my tool belt. I closed the armoury and quickly ran towards the main house.

...

I arrived at the kitchen when the food had already been served. I took the bread placed the beans all over it and ran away at full speed towards the gate.

On the lawn, Grandma was washing vegetables in a tub and saw me.

"Aidan how many times I have to tell you to not go inside the house with armour?" she shouted.

"Sorry Grandma" I replied with an equally loud voice.

"Also good luck for your first day"' she shouted again.

"Thank you and bye" like that I left the house.

After somehow coming on the main pavement I tried to catch my breath and stopped for a moment. I started walking

towards the village square.

Our village was divided into mainly three parts farm fields( where our house was located),

village market( or village square) and the lord's castle.

Master Arnon's house was located on the outskirts of the village mainly with a decent amount of forest and was located beside a small lake, but that area was not very far from the village square only half an from the village square if we follow the fourth canal(which had a source in that lake).

As I arrived at the village square I took the left turn and followed the fourth canal. The farm fields along the canal were

filled with ripened wheat golden in colour stretching through the horizon across both sides. As the cold breeze blew through the fields golden wheat is sensed by the nose it felt like a smell from heaven.

I moved towards Master Arnon's house the trees on both sides of the canal grew thicker and thicker. I arrived at the end of the canal where that lake was located and besides that lake was a small old cottage made of bricks.

Master Arnon as I could see could be fishing in the lake on his wooden boat.

"Master Arnon" I shouted.

He waved one of his hand's back and started rowing back to the cottage. We arrived at the cottage almost at the same time

"So you are that Aidan boy that Wincent told me about." He said.

"Yes," I replied.

"Weren't you supposed to come three days before and also on the first bell? He asked.

"Yes, but I had some work so I was not able to come. Sorry for the inconvenience I caused" I answered.

"I know I know" he replied nonchalantly.

"Please wait a few moments I will come with weapons. Do you want to eat something I had some breakfast left in the kitchen drawer" he asked.

"Thank you for your generosity sir but I had already eaten my breakfast so could you please excuse me" I replied and felt a little

sense of relief.

Despite being so old age he still had an intimidating aura that only a few could have and could easily tower over most men.

Master Arnon was an old man with a muscular build and a towering height. He had wrinkles all over his face covered

in thick white hair and beard.

After some time he arrived with a thick large sword on his back and a cloth bag on one of his shoulders, that might contain some kind of food or other supplies.

"Are you ready? He asked.

Nodding my head I replied "Yes" and we start moving towards the other end of the forest.

The forest grows thicker and thicker as we move away from the cottage and there was not a single word that had come

out of master Arnon's mouth. What do I have to do? What kind of special training does he have to give me? I just came here

because my Grandma told me to do so. But here we are roaming endlessly in this thick forest.

"You are probably thinking why are you stuck with this old man in a forest," He said.

"Not at all sir, I was just thinking about this natural beauty, this nature, these beautiful birds and how nature always

seems to be in this perfect harmony," I replied nervously.

"Last time I met you. You were quite more honest and sharp-tongued" he said.

With a somewhat anxious voice, I replied

"I don't know what are you talking but this is my natural form"

"Why don't you try to talk more honestly from next time, more like a young man full of courage and honour, "he said.

"Yes, sir " I replied.

"Don't worry about that Aidan. So, how is everyone at home doing? Wincent, Orlaith ?" he asked.

"Grandfather and Grandma are doing good. Grandma had a cold last week but now she is fully recovered." I answered.

He quickly became more friendly as moved inward the forest. We talked more but never stopped just going at a constant speed to which even I was having a difficult time catching up.

"Do you know I and your Grandfather had known each other for the past fifty years, "he said.

"You had already told me that last time also" I replied.

"Good of you to remember that," he said.

We were walking for almost two hours and the sun was just south of us just in the middle of the sky but he never stopped even taking a sip of water or just sitting on a rock for a while going straight without any sign of fatigue.

After some time suddenly stops.

"What happened Master Aiden," I asked.
