Chapter 4: Spell

Catherine began her learning by studying the theories behind magic and the languages that were needed for it.

From Latin to Sanskrit, she began attempting to learn many of the languages that would be necessary for her to begin her journey of studying magic. She also knew that she would have to learn Japanese since that was the primary language used in the Shinobi World.

She took around a week to start mastering the basic phrases in many of the languages, though she could still not say full sentences in the language. However, she was able to learn a basic spell using her limited knowledge of Latin. She exited her mindscape, excited to try her first spell and see how magic truly was.

She opened her eyes to find herself still in a meditative position, in the exact same position she was in originally.

She stood up and began to rehearse the words before she finally began to move her hands and utter the incantation in the direction of the tree in front of her.

This spell was used by the use of Universal Energies, which made the spell safer yet also weaker, instead of Dimensional Ones or her own mana, which she was shocked to find out she had quite a decent amount of that grew by slight amounts every day. She could only attribute it to her new body that whatever being sent her here gave her.

"The Flames of the Faultor!!" she said as a blue flame appeared on her hand, which she threw on the tree that stood in front of her.

She watched as the flame completely burned away the spot that the spell hit before it disappeared as the energy she used to make it dispersed due to her lack of control.

"I'm not surprised it didn't work, I guess I'll have to give myself more time to delve into the library." Catherine said to herself.

However, just as she was going into the meditation position, she felt her stomach rumble in hunger.

"I guess I have been in my mindscape for a week, I just didn't notice how hungry I was since I had so much excitement to see my first spell." she said.

She then looked around the forest to find some fruits or other natural foods since she didn't know how to hunt.

She was able to find some blueberries, elderberries, and blackberries, with her picking enough to fill her up for the time being.

'Note to self: Learn how to hunt.' she thought while eating the berries.

She then began to contemplate on her next move.

'I may be in the Land of Fire since they are the only Land that could have a forest like this. But I don't know if there is a period of war going on or if I would be killed by Danzo or Zetsu. My best move is probably to further my magic to a higher level first.' she thought to herself.

As someone who stayed in a hospital bed at all times, she was practically a superfan of Naruto with her even reading Webnovels of the show.

She knew the dangers that accompanied this world, and she refused to become a pawn or toy that can only get killed.

'I'll stay here for about 5 years, after that, I'll get to do what I never got to do in my past life, travel to and see the world.' Catherine thought to herself.

She then sat back in her position and went back into her mindscape, ready to grow as far as she could in these 5 years.
