Chapter 5

I had a lot of fun writing this. I don't know if it's my masterpiece chapter or my worst but I was in a crazy flow state writing it. Hope you like it!

********************************************************

Shibai started running at a slow pace trying to go for distance rather than time or speed since it will be more beneficial to increasing your stamina. The sand part already proved to be extremely difficult but he pushed through it. His body was strong for a three year old but at the end of the day, he was still three. He kept running already in the rocky area keeping the system's punishment in mind. Suddenly feeling his strength in his legs decreasing he fell down but managed to not fall face first. Instead scraping his hand on the rocky surface. He looked at his hand to find a small scratch, nothing to worry about. But he had stopped.

[Host stopped running, punishment will ensue.]

Shibai started feeling really nervous suddenly. Anticipation about the punishment filled his mind.

[Host will be bound and tickled continuously for 2 hours. Begin!]

'Please not system, I will continue to run.' He thought with a nasty grimace on his face.

[It's too late next time I give you a mission, you will do your best to complete it. Even if you fall, you get up immediately and continue running like your life depends on it. Got it?]

'Yes,' He gulped.

The tickling started slowly, building it up. Then it was faster. Shibai was laughing and wriggling around. After a while he realized that it was beginning to get really uncomfortable, he had been laughing for so long he began to lose the ability to breathe and he started gasping for any oxygen that he could get. Before long, he started seeing stars and maybe a few angels and started losing consciousness, then the system stopped. He took in as many breaths as he could trying to stabilize the situation.

[Looks like that was enough, did you learn your lesson?]

'Ye- Yes,' he answered back slowly.

[Do you know why it had to be done?]

'I gave up.'

[That's true but there was also a secondary reason.]

'What is it?'

[You are now in the Naruto world, this is not a dream or a game. If you continue treating it like a fun game, even with Garp's strength or your Devil Fruit you will get killed when you are careless.]

'I see. So it was a test to see if I could calm my panicking and make a decision even in a tough situation.'

[Yes. You could have easily entered your door dimension to escape the punishment but you panicked and did nothing productive.]

'Sheesh you sure are a slave driver. Looks like the system won't be as merciful as I thought. The soul fragment this system is made off is surely from the God of sadism or something.'

Even though he looked like he was spiteful against the system he was actually grateful.

'Thanks for the wake up call.'

[You're welcome.]

He got up again and stood at the beginning of the track, ready to have another go at this. His eyes looked motivated and it seemed like nothing could stop him.

'Is the mission still on, system?'

[Naturally.]

He started running again. His little legs carried him as far as they could. He pushed through the sand area easier this time. But at the rocky part the adrenaline coursing through his body didn't seem as effective anymore.

'Even though I'm actually trying now, it doesn't make it much easier,' he gritted his teeth and pushed forward.

Eventually the rocky part was conquered and he moved to the grassy area. He was heaving and his form was sluggish but he ran through the grassy bit with willpower alone. He stepped onto the treadmill part and found out unsurprisingly that it was the hardest since you had to not only run farther but faster too. He made it to 50 meters away from the 400 meter mark and suddenly felt darkness cornering him but he didn't stop. He made it a few more meters before falling down.

'So this is what the system meant by rigorous training, well it can only get better from here.'

An unconscious body of a small child started going backwards on the treadmill before ending up back to the grassed area. He had completed the first exercise. If the system had a body, it would have had an affirmative smile on its face.

– An hour later –

Shibai woke up with a start and sat up quickly. He was annoyed.

'Damn so close, just a few dozen more meters and I would have made it. Do I get punished because I didn't do the whole lap?'

[No you will only get punished if you don't give it your all.]

'Don't worry it won't happen again I'm in this for good.

[Good. I don't want to stay in this pathetic state either.]

'Eh? I didn't think the system would be worried about something like that. I wonder if it's pride or something else that makes him want to awaken his full form, the Village Building System.'

*Ding*

'Oh a system notification, I wonder what it is.'

[Status]

[Garp Template: 1%]

He felt his muscle tissue tearing and repairing again in a short amount of time. He felt like letting out a yell due to the pain but he kept his mouth glued.

'Damn 1% of Garp's strength is already so much. I'm not at all comparable now to what I was earlier. This is the reward for working hard. Though I doubt that I can gain another 1% so fast, otherwise what's the point of training here for so long.'

'I feel full of energy. I want to try running as long as possible again and testing my limits.'

[The running until unconscious is not actually an optimal way to train, I just gave it to you to test your guts, you know. You would much rather run for as long as you can, then after resting for a while continue running again.]

'I guess that's true. Let's test out what this 1% can do.'

Shibai started running at his full speed to make it harder as 1% of Garp could run at a slow pace for hours. He ran at incredible speeds for a three year old a few dozen times before he felt that his little lungs couldn't handle the stress anymore and stopped. He put his arms high up in the air to swallow oxygen faster.

[The first session of the day is complete. You've done well.]

'What's the time?'

[11 am]

'11 am? I felt like that lasted for a couple of days at least. Well I should rest so I can be ready for whatever the system throws at me next.'

He was spent but it felt amazing. If he knew that working hard was so much fun he would've never lazed around in his office job for years.
