Naruto: Resilience

She died and was reborn as Rin Nohara, a character destined to die. She would change her fate and she would change the fate of all the others. Maybe Kakashi wouldn't be depressed. Maybe Obito wouldn't go down the darkside and maybe Naruto could keep his dad. On the other hand... she could live a normal life, be a normal shinobi, get married, have kids, then die a normal death of natural cause. But if she's a jinchuurkiki... how's she going to do that? *sigh...* life is so hard... I don't own naruto or any of the characters sry for grammar and spelling errors Some events might be a bit off for the sake of the story

Chapter 26

Shisui was dead. Sasuke was already eight. Soon, Itachi would defect and become Jiraya's spy. Soon, Obito would return again to Konoha and help massacre his clan. "Everything had been prepared," said my shadow clone. I nodded, and it disbanded.

The massacre couldn't be prevented. Technically it could, but that would throw the future off course. One way or another, the Uchihas were going to throw a coup. The Akatsuki were already at large. Itachi needed to become a spy. Maybe... at least I could help spare Sasuke from the torture Itachi would put him through. Maybe I could even go and say hi to Obito...

My shadow clones had left imprints where they were needed. A few in the Uchiha district, two in the room where Itachi would kill his parents, and one as far away from Konoha as possible.

Blood. Corpses scattered across the floor. I clenched my fist. The massacre was really happening now. It would be over soon. I followed Sasuke as he ran into his home, calling for his mother and father. I sighed.

"Sasuke," said Itachi's voice, barely mature. He was only 13 and yet he had to slaughter his own clansmen.

I could hear Sasuke sobbing. I teleported into the room, my old ANBU mask on my face. "That's enough, Itachi."

"Who are-" I knocked Sasuke out with a light blow to his neck.

"Chill out," I muttered as Itachi tensed, "Don't torture your little brother, okay? He needs to be mentally well."

"Wha-"

"Shush," I said to Itachi, "I'm not here for you... MADARA!" I hollered, "GET YOUR ASS HERE RIGHT NOW!"

There was a ripple in the air, and Obito appeared. He was wearing the Akatsuki robes now. His face was still masked, showing only one red eye. "Rin," he said coolly.

I turned to Itachi, "See ya."

I lunged at Obito, who froze as I gave him a hug. Apparently, he was still smitten with me. We reappeared outside of Konoha, and I punched him in the gut as hard as possible, with chakra-enhanced strength.

"You-" I pulled out my tanto and slashed at him, cutting away some of the fabric of his cloak. I caught a flash of white. Hashirama cells.

He tensed. 'Strength of Hundreds Seal! Tailed-Beast mode! Slug Sage Mode!'

He froze as black lines appeared over my body. My right eye closed, and my left turned red. Three spiked tails appeared behind me. Red appeared around my eyes, and a circle encircled my diamond. My headband fell to the floor. "Hi," I said, "I'm going to beat the crap out of you."

"Wait-" My fist slammed into the floor, creating a crater. Obito jumped back. I appeared behind him, tanto in hand. I slashed as hard as possible, destroying part of the forest.

"Rin, can't we-" I swiped his legs out from under him and plunged my blade toward his arm. "Augh!!!!!!!" he screamed as the Hashirama cell-made arm was stabbed.

I removed my blade and kicked him. Obito slammed into the trees, coughing. He pulled out ninja tools. I dodged them then ducked. Uchiha Shuriken Jutsu…

The shuriken flew back at me, and I swiped them away with my tanto. One nicked me on the arm, but nothing happened. Isobu's armor was too good. I lunged at him, pushing him to the floor. His head slammed into the ground, and he groaned.

I avoided his eyes. "Fire style: Great Fireball Jutsu!"

I jumped back to avoid the flames. His eye spun, and the air rippled. "Oh no you don't…" I lunged for him and grabbed him just before he entered the Kamui dimension.

The air immediately stopped rippling. "Get off me," he shouted, and I punched him in the face.

The mask unraveled, revealing his face. He had a bloody nose, and he glared at me. "Rin," he said again, this time his voice emotional.

I ignored him and kicked him in the stomach. He grunted and fell to his knees. "You already knew," he whispered. His eyes studied me.

"Obito," I said, "I already said I WOULD BEAT YOUR ASS!"

He flinched, "You called me Madara when Itachi was there."

I shrugged and pointed my tanto at him. He smiled evilly at me. "You betrayed me too, Rin. Do it, kill me."

He noticed my hesitation, "You can't, can you?"

He was right. I couldn't. A thousand memories of Obito flooded into my brain. Rin's memories. Rin's memories were mine too. "Hey!" Itachi's voice called out.

Obito's mask covered his face again, and he stood up. I stumbled backward, and he looked at me. "I knew it," he said, "No matter how strong you are, you're still weak. For your information, I let you win."

He disappeared, and I was left alone.
