Hiruzen’s Decision

The door swung open once again, but this time it wasn't just the nurse who had been caring for Naruto. Instead, a group of people entered the ward, including Konoha Village ninjas and a few Anbu. Leading them was an elderly man, and following closely behind him was the nurse who looked on the verge of fainting.

Naruto had heard their approach, but he kept his eyes closed, feigning sleep. In reality, while practicing his sensory perception, he had sensed their arrival and knew that the old man at the front was none other than the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen.

Despite Naruto's knowledge of the Third Hokage's involvement in taking care of him, he had no intention of revealing his true situation easily. He wasn't naive; politics were a complicated game. Furthermore, who had sold out Neji's father, Hizashi?

It was well known that Cloud Shinobi Village had sought Byakugan, but in the end, it was to minimize the loss and force Hyuga Hizashi to sacrifice himself. "Hokage, I witnessed it with my own eyes. This child is just two days old, and he sat up to reach for the bottle on the bedside table and fed himself. He must be the reincarnation of the demon fox," the nurse's words started to become somewhat frantic.

Naruto could vouch for the nurse's honesty. Suppressing the urge to curl his lip in annoyance, he silently wondered who had caused him to have to feed himself milk powder.

The Hokage couldn't help but furrow his brow deeply, picking up on the implications in the nurse's words. He asked with a tinge of anger in his tone, "Are you telling me that you left a newborn baby to feed himself milk powder?"

The nurse froze in her tracks, dumbfounded by her own unintentional revelation. She hadn't anticipated exposing herself while trying to file a complaint. It was like lifting a stone only to drop it on her own foot.

The Hokage, observing the perplexed nurse, exchanged a glance with one of the Anbu operatives beside him. The Anbu operative promptly escorted her out of the room.

"What in the world, demon fox reincarnation... Damn it, this is undoubtedly the legacy of the Fourth Hokage," grumbled a hefty, red-haired man with a stout build, wearing a chestplate with the name "Choza Akimichi."

He appeared furious and was about to continue venting his frustration when Third Generation Hokage intervened, saying, "Choza, that's enough."

Choza, the current head of the Akimichi clan and a Jonin of the Fourth Hokage, had become an indispensable asset to the village. Furthermore, he had a close relationship with the Fourth Hokage, as they had once embarked on missions together with Minato.

Moreover, there were numerous witnesses to the events surrounding his birth, including the The Hokage, Jonin, and Anbu operatives who were stationed outside Kushina's barrier. They had all been present when Naruto was delivered to Konoha Hospital for care.

"Hokage," Nara Shikaku, in contrast to the impulsive Akimichi Choza, was known for his resourcefulness. He calmly inquired, "Whom do you intend to entrust this child to? He's just a newborn and still very young. If you trust me, I'd be willing to raise him alongside my own children."

Nara Shikaku, one of Konoha's twelve elite ninja, was responsible for strategy and had eventually become the right-hand man to Naruto.

However, the Hokage shook his head slowly, his tone resolute. "It's not a matter of trust, Nara, but rather that no one can provide him with the special care he needs. Everyone here is aware of his true identity, and he was a target of the Fourth Hokage's enemies. You've witnessed the situation. There's no need for further explanation. Once his identity is exposed, it will pose a significant danger."

Is it really dangerous?

Nara wore a contemplative expression.

The Hokage let out a sigh. "The Fourth Hokage's reputation is so brilliant that it attracts not only admiration but also intense animosity. The war is ongoing, and apart from his biological parents, no one can guarantee his safety. Moreover, if his identity as the Nine Tails Jinchūriki is revealed, other nations may send assassins after him."

If it were to come to that, the situation would indeed be perilous.

The Hokage's words were not mere exaggerations. In the original storyline, even the eldest daughter of the Hyuga clan was nearly abducted by Cloud Shinobi Village's ninja while she was within her own home.

Kushina, Naruto's mother, was also kidnapped from the village, with Cloud Shinobi Village involved.
