Chapter 6: First Task

Hagoromo Clan Compound

While the Sun was still down, a sound could be heard inside the bedroom of a large house.

"Sigh..."

Adrian slowly rose up and when he did, a sound that was similar to a bell could be heard in his head.

Ding! [Daily Task: Perform a lap around your compound 10 times, Reward: 0.02% Template Integration per day]

This immediately jolted him completely awake.

'Based on my math, even if I don't get any other form of a mission I would have the full strength of Gildarts by the time I'm 19 years old and that would be more than enough to help me on my path.' Adrian thought to himself.

He then put on his clothes and started running to the furthest most wall of the compound to begin while attempting to be aware of his surroundings. Since he knew how dangerous it could be outside the clan walls, he simply stayed on the edge of the walls for his training. What he didn't know was that his aid Ono was following him while keeping a distance to not be noticed.

Ono was a tall, pale skinned man, with short brown hair that went to his neck. He was originally very timid and often overlooked, yet he had been chosen by the previous Hagoromo Clan Head to be the guardian of the Clan chief's family. He trained alongside Oden for that role and the two had grown close to each other as if they were brothers. He even gained the title "Shadow of The Hound" due to him fighting right alongside Oden on the battlefield and attempting to protect him from any sorts of assassinations or sneak attacks.

'What could the young master be hoping to do this early in the morning?' Ono thought to himself.

Oden had awoke as soon as he heard footsteps, but after seeing it was his son he decided to allow him to do what he wanted, but made sure to instruct Ono to protect him.

"What exactly is the young master planning on doing?" Ono asked himself as Adrian finally made it to the wall and finally started running so he could complete his task.

He started running at a steady pace and in around 20 minutes he finished the first lap around the compound.

"1..2..3..4..1..2..3..4.."

Adrian was going at a steady pace while attempting to conserve energy as he doesn't know how much energy he should expend while running.

It took him around 3 hours to finish as even if it was only a Clan Compound, it was still sized to fit almost 2,000 members. And while he was tired as he finished, it wasn't to an overwhelming degree.

His muscles seemed tired but not sore as his body was much stronger from the integration and he had conserved a large amount of his energy while running so he wasn't overly exhausted.

Ding! [Congratulations on the completion of the daily task, Template Integration has reached 5.02%]

'I can feel the warm energy flowing into me and seeping into my body. Even if it is not close to as much as last time, it is still a decent amount of growth, and much more than I can get from normal training. It seems that not only does my physical strength increase, but also my chakra reserves. Is it due to my chakra being a substitute for ethernano, so therefore it'll increase as well?

However, unbeknownst to him, Ono stood at a distance, shocked.

'Even some weaker members of the clan would feel exhausted after doing that type of exercise but the young master still has strength. Even Oden would feel extreme fatigue after doing this type of exercise at his age. It seems that the clan has a diamond in the rough, and I'll ensure that it becomes a diamond even if it costs me my life.' Ono thought to himself.

Just as the Sun was rising, Adrian returned home to wash up before breakfast.
