Another World

Unknown Pov:

It's so cold… and lonely.

Taking off my gloves. I desperately rub my hands above the fire to get some sense of feeling back in them.

"Dammit!"

If only I could control this power, first it was a water planet with no land in sight, then there were endless monstrous plant species that could kill you, and now this. Although this world felt familiar and unfamiliar at the same time, almost like Deja Vu. It reminds me a little about what Avalla'ch talked about. Does this world have anything to do with the so-called prophesied world end he talked about?

This power feels more like a curse, everywhere I go trouble follows. Specifically the Wild Hunt. There's something about this power that they can track. If only I could use it discreetly in some way.

It's almost been an hour, so the Wild Hunt will be here soon. So I start preparing to leave.

I can feel my energy almost replenished. I should be able to leave this world soon. Standing up I stretch my arms and get ready to leave. When suddenly I hear a strange warping sound. I first assumed the Wild Hunt had already caught up to me, but was immediately proven false with a strange star-shaped small object appearing a few feet in front of me.

I could feel a strange energy from it as it glowed purple like it was calling to me. It was beautiful to look at. Reaching out my hands I tried to grasp it but was met with only air. Did it dodge me? What is it? Did Avalla'ch find me?

The star floated towards the door as if it was leading me to something. Out of curiosity, I follow it. I was alert looking around the whole time, keeping my distance in case it was a trap. When suddenly the star just stopped in mid-air. Confused, I walked up to it cautiously.

I was surprised by a body in the snow. There are people on this planet? No that's impossible, no one could survive out here. Even if they could keep warm they would eventually die of starvation, there's nothing edible out here in these frozen plains.

Getting a closer look I bent over to get a better look at the young boy's face. My first thoughts were; He's really good-looking, nothing like the boys in my world; they all have some sort of deformity or scars. His face is smooth with no roughness to it. Is he some sort of noble or prince?

From what I could guess he was a little younger than me. He looks around seventeen, but I wasn't sure maybe he's an elf that lives for a long time keeping his younger appearance. Upon closer inspection, I push his hair to reveal his ears. So not an elf? Who are you? And how are you here? Does it have anything to do with this strange star here?

Right, I should bring him inside to warm up, then I can ask questions when he wakes up. I picked him up in a princess carry. "Woah, why are you so heavy." I almost dropped him, not expecting the weight of the guy. Looking down I noticed his clothes were very high quality and they had a symbol with an eagle on them. He must be some sort of noble.

I followed the glowing star as it led me back to my hideout. Entering the house I lay the him on his back next to the fire. Breathing heavily, I shout, "Why is this guy so heavy!"

The herbs and mushrooms given to me by Vesemir when I was young added some strength, and combined that with the training I had. I wasn't completely weak physically, however, he gave me a workout just from walking a small distance.

Seeing the frozen jacket I take it off him to raise it above the fire. I noticed he had a very thin shirt underneath and could see his defined abs.

"Well, he's lucky I'm not like the ladies back in my world or he would have been eaten in this vulnerable state." Laughing at my own joke, I start to think well at least it's not lonely anymore. I hope he at least wakes up before the Wild Hunt arrives.

Artorios Pov:

I could feel warmth returning to me. I swore I could hear a familiar voice near me earlier. Shifting my body upward and opening my eyes, I'm greeted with a woman staring into my eyes, with her face very close to mine.

Ciri?

Before I could think any further I was pulled out by her voice and hand waving across my face. "Hey I'm talking to you, it's rude to stare you know? Wait, can you even understand me?"

I nod and she sighs in relief and instantly asks, "How are you here? And are you even Human? How did you survive out there? What is that star?"

Shaking my head I reply, "How about I just tell you my story?" And she nods, arms folded, and answers like a princess demanding her servant, "Very well let me hear it."

A few minutes later.

"Wait, you're only 14!?" said Ciri.

I nod and she continues, "It's hard to believe."

"So you're from a world of magic and you're from a family that seems to come from a fairytale in that world. On top of that, you live on a floating island that has these portals appear at random and you got here because of the star pulling you in one after it teleported you on the island."

I nod and she sarcastically replies, "Uhuh. And anything else you want to tell me? Like how you have a pet dragon?"

I smile and answer, "I've never actually seen a dragon yet"

Shaking her head she smiles back replying, "Relax I'm only joking."

"So are you sure you're not human? Even if you're a mage, you wouldn't be able to survive out there for a minute."

I just shrug at that

"Fine, keep your secrets then," Said Ciri.

I smile again replying, "Perhaps I'll tell you another time, I still don't know that much about it myself."

A small silence ensues, leaving us to our thoughts. Breaking the silence I say, "You know, you still haven't asked me about my name."

"Oh right, I'm terribly sorry, may I know your name then?"

Putting out my hand I answer, "My name is Artorias, but you can call me Art if you want."

Shaking my hand she replies, "That's a strange name you got there, my name is Cirilla but you can also call me Ciri, it's a pleasure meeting you Art."

"The pleasure is mine, Ciri."

Before we could continue this conversion we were interrupted by the sound of portals outside of the house.

"Damnit! They're here already, hurry, we have no time left to talk, grab my hand. I'm sorry it's a long story, I would like to tell you my story as well since you trusted me with yours."

She smiles and continues, "Perhaps I'll tell you another time, I still don't know that much about it myself."

Before I could answer she grabs my hand and I feel the familiar feeling of teleportation. My last thought was; did I just get uno reverse carded?

Unknown Time Later

I felt myself falling once again. I was falling for a long time, but before I knew it I was being submerged as if I fell into the ocean. Feeling my body slam against the water from so high up was unpleasant, to say the least. Swimming upward I observed my current location and found I was in some sort of dirty ocean. My body was still in a little pain from that fall. Thinking of Ciri I tried to sense her with my magic and felt she was still underwater. Her heartbeat was stable, but slowing down, did she pass out from the fall?

The first thing I noticed was the horrible smell and dirty water. Did we fall into some kind of sewer? In the distance, I could see a huge city with flying cars. Did we land in some kind of futuristic sci-fi movie?

Before looking any further I decided to dive back down to secure Ciri. After a minute of swimming, I'm finally close enough to grab a hold of her sinking body. She was really deep and the water was so dirty I had no vision so I had to trace her body with magic to sense her.

Grabbing her hand tightly, I attempt to swim upward with one arm and my legs. This looks really easy in the movies, but it's actually really hard when you're being weighed down by the person and especially with all this water pressure. I feel that I can do it, but I don't know if Ciri can hold out that long, so I decided to just use magic.

Grabbing her waist I murmur, "Ascendio." I could feel the heaviness slowly lighten as we ascended to the surface. Finally launching upward, I check on Ciri. She wasn't breathing and her heartbeat was weak. Luckily I could see there was a buoy nearby.

Swimming there didn't take long. Pulling Ciri over my shoulder I lay her down on the small platform. I immediately started performing CPR to get the water out of her lungs. I put my hands on the center of her chest and started pressing down two inches, making sure I don't press on the ribs.

Two minutes later

I was starting to lose hope so I started the second method. I lifted her chin and tilted her head back. Pinched her nose and covered my mouth over hers in an airtight seal. Giving one-second breaths, as I watch her chest rise. Continuing the cycle of thirty compressions and two breaths.

A minute later I finally see some good signs as she spits water from her mouth. I tilt her head to the side to drain that excess water. She started breathing heavily, with wide eyes, as if she awoke from a horrible dream.

"It's ok you're alright now," I said.

It was only silence for a few minutes before she started to speak up.

"What happened?" Ughh, what's that smell?"

"Well for starters when you decided to take me along with you, we teleported about fifty meters above the air, I don't think it's possible to survive a fall this high into water. In fact, it's a miracle we're both still alive."

Like it was a normal occurrence she only replies with, "I see."

"I'm surprised, I thought you would be asking me questions by now," said Ciri.

Shaking my head I reply, "Did you forget I'm also teleporting into different worlds, your not the only one experiencing this."

"Right…," she replied.

With the glowing city in the distance, I could see the reflection in her eyes as she was curiously looking around. Hearing a noise in the distance I look up and see one of those floating cars heading in our direction. Inspecting the buoy I found out that it seems to be for collecting some sort of data, they probably have a sensor on this thing. All I could think of was; great more trouble.

Turning in Ciri's direction I was about to alert her about the situation but was met with a hug and a barely audible 'thank you'. I was surprised for a moment, then I made a small chuckle and said, "Woman". My intuition was telling me she didn't like that response.

Backing out of the hug she frowns and holds her nose, saying, "You smell like you just dove into a pile of troll shit!"

Ah, I didn't even notice, my nose already adjusted to the smell. Snapping my fingers, I suddenly have the appearance of someone who just showered and put on new clothes. Seeing this she had her mouth wide open.

"Hey! What about me?" Ciri shouts in a demanding tone. I proceed to grant her wish and do the same for her. Before she could thank me we were interrupted by a flying car. I could feel the heat of its thrusters in front of us as it lowered to our level.

The door slid open revealing a man with a megaphone.

"Proceed to enter the AV, you are trespassing on illegal territory and are currently facing charges of interfering with an Arasaka buoy," he shouted.
