Chapter 4: You Should Consider

"Alright grandfather, i will come see you after work."

"That's my girl. Expect your favourite food for dinner."

Smiling, "i really appreciate that grandfather."

" Alright, i should not distract you. Be blessed child."

"thanks grandfather." Lily then said, ending the call to focus on her work.

Soon, it was launch time. Lily closed the document in her hands as she wondered how she was going to go about with the day's launch. She then remembered William. The guy that helped saved her last night. Picking up her phone, she called Jane.

Jane walked into the office hurriedly.

"Here i am boss!"

"Do you have any information in regards to Mr Williams?"

"Yes boss, he dropped his card. I think he wanted you to reach out to him later. Here it is!" she said, handing over the business card to Lily.

"Okay cool, i will see about that."

"Alright boss, what will you like to have for lunch?"

"It's fine, don't worry about me."

"Alright boss." Jane replied as she bowed and left.

Looking st the card in her hands, she felt nervous but she still had to try. Dialing the number on the card, she sat up. She had never been so nervous. "Hello!" her calm voice sounded in the office.

"To the most beautiful woman in the universe, i feel so honoured to hear you voice." William cheerful tone sounded from the other end of the phone.

Surprised, "How did you know i am the one?" she asked.

"You have an exceptional tone of voice. I can't comprehend."

"That feels so cool to hear. I wanted to invite you out for dinner as a way of saying thank you. I don't know if it would be possible." she asked feeling unsettled.

"As you wish her majesty!"

Blushing, "okay! How does South River Restaurant sounds?"

"Sounds great. I will be there in a bit."

"Alright. Same here!"

Ending the call, Lily felt so great and needed. She could not remember ever feeling this way. Standing up, she followed the private elevator that was designed for her office alone and left the building.

When she got to the garage, she got into her car and drove herself out.

South River Restaurant was one of the best in the city, known for it's never ending fresh scenery and their good foods. It was a luxurious restaurant and was also good with keeping their customer's data confidential, and that's the main reason Lily pucked this restaurant.

When Lily parked her car, she spotted him at a corner. Surprised, he was actually here before her, she smiled from within.

For once in her life, she felt important. Closing her car door, she went straight to him with smiles.

"I never expected you to be here before me." she said, striking up a conversation.

"Hahaha I am here anyways." He answered as he stood up and offered her a sit. When he was sure that she was comfortable, he sat down.

"Lily was shocked at his actions as it made her uncomfortable at first. With time, she felt relaxed.

"I already ordered some foods for us. The waiter will be here soon."

"sure it is fine." she replied. She didn't know what to say anymore.

It seemed like he was the one that took her out instead.

After they were done, he paid the bills and gave her a walk to her car, opening the car door for her.

"Drive safely!"

"I will. Thanks a lot for today. I still owe you." Lily then said before driving off.

When she left, he then went to his own car and left the restaurant ad well.

At a corner, across the road, was a hidden paparazzi. Every single details of the date was recorded in his camera. But how?

When Lily got back to the office, she looked bright and full of confident.

Jane had went to deliver a document at her office when she spotted Lily grinning from ear to ear. She smiled and left.

Soon, the day was over. Everyone finished for the day while Jane waited for Lily to come down for a long time all to no avail.

In the office, Lily turned her chair as her facial expression had already come back to it usual form.

It was already so dark but she didn't seem to care as she thought about her life. She knew who she was. She regretted not being like every other humans alive. She hid herself in her dark office as she looked into the sky through her window. It looked boring, but for some reason, she enjoys it.

A tear dropped from her eyes when she thought about her loss. Quickly, she cleaned her tears. It was not her fault, she knew. But somehow, she still had herself to blame.

Jane walked into the office and could not go in because it was so dark in there.

Bringing out her phone from her purse, she searched for the switch. She knew Lily already and she was very sure she was still in the office.

When she found the switch, she switched on the light, only to find Lily looking into the sky like there was something she was searching for.

"Boss, is everything okay? You looked down. Let's go, i will take you to grandfather." She said, sympathizing with Lily. The state she saw her boss in ate deep into her.

She approached Lily. "Boss, you know i am always here for you. Anytime, any day."

Lily took her eyes off the sky, as she looked at Jane. She could clearly see the sincerity all over her. In her heart, she had always known she was the luckiest in the universe to have an assistant, who was so loyal. She was more than an assistant, a true friend.

Standing up, she strolled towards the door, then down the stairs.

"Boss, i promised to always protect you, that i will never forget." Jane said determined. Picking up Lily's important documents, she headed down to the garage.
