Meeting the president.

The moment Peter took a step forward, the soldiers surrounding them readied their guns and were about to shoot when Nate stopped Peter.

"I don't think they are stupid enough to think they can actually handle us," Nate said to Peter.

Even Nate had a serious expression on his face. Perhaps, the troops think that Nate and his horde are now exhausted after fighting Ozzie and at the same time killing fighting against the strongest level of beasts.

Unfortunately, Nate was a zombie and never for once had he felt tired while fighting.

Just then, the cloud of soldiers that were surrounding Nate and his horde started to create a path as a man walked through.

"Everyone put your guns down," the man commanded immediately.

"But sir... They were the ones that opened that portal," another one said unwilling to let his guard down.

"And they are the same people that closed it, now put your guns down before I put you both down!" the man shouted...

This time, the soldiers put their guns down, but they are still those that had their hands placed on them, ready to shoot any time possible.

With the guns no longer pointed at them, the urge of ripping off someone's throat died down as well...

The man from before then faced back at Nate. "The president wants to meet you guys," the man said.

"Then lead the way, we don't have much time for chitchat," Nate exclaimed.

The soldiers were startled by how unfazed and unbothered Nate was at them. It was as if he didn't mind the fact he was outnumbered.

Still, the one that ignored this fact, after all, had seen the fight with Nate and how he and his group were able to defeat the gigantic monster.

Soon, Nate and the others were being led to a particular area around where the military base of the settlement was. This was the only place that was in touch by the fight, the rest of the city was another story. It is not like it was all the buildings that were destroyed, but the majority of it has been seriously damaged.

As they were heading towards the area on foot with some guards with them, some group of civilians were slowly approaching them with cheers and claps.

This was something Nate never expected to happen. After all, he was sure the base was aware of what he and his horde were.

"Yeah... We saved your ass...!" Tigger shouted in annoyance. He in particular could still remember the discrimination he have to suffer under these people's hands when he became a halfling. Thinking that he was one of the reasons they are still alive now made him feel stupid and sick.

Luckily, it seems like the man from before understood how they felt and a car was soon called.

To carry them all, more than three army vehicle was called. With these, Nate and the others were able to reach the base just in time.

What Nate have noticed was how coated the drivers were. They were covered in nylon clothes with gloves, helmets, face masks and nose masks.

"You know, none other than your coating matters, if I want to infect you with the virus, it's as simple as ABC," Peter teased their driver as he nearly drifted off the road, at that moment, his hand was visibly shaking in fear.

Not long, they were have arrived and were led underground where they all arrived at a large white room.

From the door entrance, they all could see about four people sitting on a chair on the other end.

The other was executed in a chair that was quite distant from that of the so-called president.

Soon, after the guards left to the side, and the room remained silent for about a while.

"Wait... Are we meant to perform some sort of salute or something?" Peter said.

"Don't call us here to keep us waiting, we are more busy than you think," Peter continued directing his speech at the people before him.

"Sorry... For that... I am just wondering, why did you do it?" the lady that was sitting in the middle of the leaders asked.

Nate could only assume she was the so call president. She was quite young and beautiful with blonde hair that was tied in a ponytail. As for her question, Nate know what she was asking, and looked at Leo who have decided to tag along with them rather than disappear now the whole event was over.

With a nod of approval, Nate stood up and said. "The beast you saw us defeating is someone from your settlement, and perhaps, you might know about him?" Nate said.

"And who is...he? The president asked.

"Ozzie!" Nate answered.

Just as he expected, there was a reaction from the president as their face darkened.

"I want to learn more about Ozzie... Although I know him, but he has been helpful to these settlements, so I am surprised that he will be behind all these," the president said with interest.

"Unfortunately, I can't say much with those people here, the information we have is too sensitive for someone like them to listen to.

"What nonsense are you talking about," another man that was on the table shouted.

Almost instantly, he received a sharp glance from everyone that was with Nate. At that moment, Peter disappeared from his sit and appeared by his side with his finger out.

"Do you think by them staying guarantees your safety?" he said pointing his finger at the man's throat.

No one was able to see when he moved but he suddenly appeared before the latter.

"If you are not willing to comply, we might as well keep our information to ourselves," Peter said looking at the president.

Suddenly, Peter was out of their sight back on his sit. With this display of power difference, it was apparent that even if Nate and his horde wanted to kill them, even the security could save them.

With these thoughts in mind, the president took a bold decision and waved her hand signalling for the guards to leave.

They were hesitant for a moment, but still stumble off.

With them out, the president now gestured for Nate to speak, but rather than Nate, this time, it was Leo that speak up.

"I will explain the reason why Ozzie has decided to attack your base and how he became what you once saw him as," Leo said and then went into a detailed explanation.

Meanwhile, the fight for a while now was being monitored by the matrix till the very end.

"Well... Just as expected, he has gotten stronger than before," Mia said with a sigh.

"At least this will give us a starting point... From what we saw in the fight, if we were to go against him, I am not so that confident of our victory," Kai said.

As much as Mia wanted to not believe in this, he know that was the bitter truth. However, Mia was never lacking in ideas.

He looked at Green who have been busy for a while now.

"Did you get the portal pattern?" Mia asked.

"Yes, I think I have figured out how it works already," Green replied.

Such a response was one Mia loved to hear as a smile appeared on his face.

"Rather than killing him, Nate decided to send him into a portal, there has to be a reason why it was that way. Regardless, we will be paying a visit to our little new friend here," Mia said while the image of Ozzie in his gigantic body with four arms appeared before them.
