Chapter 22

Finn's P.O.V

A whole month has passed, and I am very surprised Rosabella has kept to her word and stayed completely away from the wolves. Arjun hasn't made it easy, he leaves little gifts on the doorsteps and continuously tries to see her. I finally feel like I won. Besides my fight with Dominic. He is getting more aggressive and wants her to join the clan permanently.

I watch her sleep wrapped in the bed sheets, my mind replays last night's interactions with us and the way my hands touched her. I think this does qualify as a relationship now. A strong one filled with lots of love.

I make my way towards the livingroom and see everyone has left, so I walk into the kitchen to turn on the coffee pot for Rosabella. I notice a note on the counter.

The change must happen today Finn. Rosabella must be a vampire. I read. I can notice that writing anywhere, and I know it was Dominic who gives me one of his orders again.

I roll my eyes.

Hearing Rosabella get up, I quickly stashed the letter behind my back. I don't want her stressed out or thinking I want this right now. We already overcame so many things: the werewolves, her previous relationship, and all her reckless habits.

"What's that?"

Damn it. I was so quick, I don't know how she could have seen that.

She moves over to me and brings her lips to mine. "No secrets."

I nod. "Dominic demands you get changed."

"Changed?"

"Into a vampire, it's the way you formally join the clan."

I see her eyes hit the ground. She was clearly pondering this. "You have already protected me through so many things, you really became my little bodyguard, and if I need to do this for you, then I will."

"Really?"

She nods.

"But don't you think you don't have any choice? I can hold him off longer."

"You've been protecting me long enough, it's time to pay up what's been promised to the clan."

I bring my lips to her forehead, and I fill her hands on my chest.

"Are you sure that's what you want?"

She nods. I can no longer deny that sooner or later she's going to have to join the clan.

I hear a knock on the door, and the smell of a wolf has left me shocked. He would come here to a vampire's house. Has this wolf completely lost his mind?

"Stay here."

I see her eyes grow huge, and I know there's no way she won't follow me.

I quickly walked to the door, and answered it.

"Arjun, you're not welcome here."
