Chapter two

" Do you think she'll agree " The man asked

" I don't care whether she agreed or not i'm not asking her she'll marry him" The woman replied crossing her arms

" But hon shouldn't we ask her first it's her life after all "

" No she'll do what I say what else she could want you know him his a good man who has decent job " She said in serious tone

" Plus he loves her or do you want her to come to you some day with unknown child " She asked looking at him

He shook his head  " No I don't want that to happen and I know Jennifer won't do something like that I know my daughter "

She scoffed " All you know is that she go out in the morning and come back late at night " She continue

"Do you even know what she do after she done with her work and have you wondered why she comes late every night  I don't think there's a waitress who works from 6 am to 9pm is there " She asked him

He was silent for a bit that makes sense to him and his wife is telling the truth he knows nothing about his daughter

What she do and who she go out with

Does she has a boyfriend is she in relationship he knows nothing

He looked at his wife " You're right maybe it's better if she got married we won't worry about her "

" See I'm right I'm doing all of this for her own good and even if she don't understand she will someday "

Her husband nodded " Michael called this morning he said they'll come in the afternoon "

His wife nodded " Good "

She was about to walk away when she saw Jennifer coming down the stairs

Jennifer walked down the stairs and made her way towards the door she hold the doorknob when her mom said

" Where do you think you're going "

Jennifer stopped and looked at her mom she was in hurry to go to work cause she was late already she didn't sleep last night because of thunderstorm

She looked at her mom confused why would she ask such question she clearly knows where's she going

" I'm going to work "

" No you won't be going to work today we have visitors " Said the mother

" But mom You know I can't the bos---"

She cut her off saying

" I don't care about your boss you're not going anywhere today "

She sigh looking at her mother she knows that she can't win against her mother

she's  kinda of a person who don't take no as an answer

" Why is it so important and who's those people " She asked

Her mom grin looking at her " Today You're getting engaged "

The girl she looked at her with frightening look

" WHAT!!! " she almost shouted

" You heard me you are Getting engaged today "

" You can't Just decided what to do with my life it's my life not yours " She said in mad tone

" Don't argue with me young lady you're going do what I say " She said in strict tone and walked away

The girl looked at her dad who's sitting on the couch reading a news paper

"Dad what's going on " She said with crack voice

He looked at her with sympathy he knows he's daughter won't be happy  but he can't do anything basically he can't go against his wife's will

He just stand up and left her there without saying a word...

She dropped her purse and sit on the ground she start crying

She can't do anything day after day her life is becoming worse first she was forbidden to go to the college after all she went through to get the scholarship and know

They arranged a marriage for her with a man she don't know and never seen before 

She stand up wiping her tears away there's no use of crying it won't change anything

She walked upstairs back to her bedroom

She get inside her bedroom and throw herself on bed crying again

Jennifer Pov

What did I do to deserve this what have I done wrong

Why do I have this kind of parents

Why don't they love me

Why

I kept asking myself why . I have a lot of question

And I don't have an answer to any of these questions

I seat on bed hiding my face on my knees

My heart is aching

My soul is burning

my eyes are weeping

No one cares about me no one

I have been always trying to be positive and look at the bright side but

There's no bright side and I no longer can be positive

I was curious about where they were going these past few days but now I know

They were planing on giving me away to some strange and I know why

All they want is money especially mom

I don't know if i'll call her mom after all she had done to me and now she want to get rid of me

I stayed in my bedroom the whole time I didn't go out or anything and Ella was calling me but I didn't pick her call

I'll get fired by sure so i'll quit before he Humiliate me

He was trying to fire me since day one but didn't get any reason but now he has one

I exactly don't know why I get treat this way by all the people that I have known my entire life and of course with out Ella and Smith

Although we're not close friends but they don't hurt me by words like others do

i was occupied with my thoughts

When I heard knock on the door

Of course I know who it is so I opened the door

" Aren't you ready yet our guests has arrived " She said irritated

I looked at her with teary eyes "Mom please I don't want to get married"

She looked at me without any emotions " You are going to get married he's a good kid who has a good job you won't be needing to work at a restaurant "

She said Emphasizing the word 'restaurant'

I looked at her with mixed emotions

" You're the reason why i'm working in a restaurant if you would've let go to college I wouldn't be here know "

I couldn't hold myself anymore

" You're the reason why i'm like this

All you care is about money and when you saw that my salary isn't enough you decided to give me away for some strange for exchange of money " I said full of anger

"I feel ashamed of being  part of this family "

She looked at me as if my words didn't reach her

" Don't be ashamed you'll no longer be part of this shame " She grin and turned to leave

I was stunned I never expected her to be this heartless

She walked towards the door but turned around and said

" You have 15 minutes to get ready "

With that she walked away I went down on my knees

I can't believe what's happening....
