Why Now?

*Creak*

The door opened, revealing Genevieve dressed beautifully in a baby pink back tail dress with her blonde hair in a half up do hairstyle. Minimal makeup and a simple white flower crown on her head that just enhanced her beauty.

"Are you ready?" she asked, addressing the brunette haired girl standing in front of the mirror beautifully dressed in a light mint green wedding dress.

Her hair was made into a simple updo with a few strands lay loose. A beautiful off-shoulder gown, full laced sleeves and a white flower crown, similar to Genevieve's. Natural makeup applied on her sculptured face which made her look like an angel that descended from heaven.

"Mhm" Elisa slightly nodded. Genevieve extended her steps towards Elisa before holding both for her hand in hers.

"You are looking spectacular" Genevieve said softly as Elisa smiled at her but her smile soon faded after witnessing tears in her beloved friend's eyes.

"Why are you crying?" Elisa asked as she wiped the lone tear that left Genevieve's eyes. Genevieve just shook her head.

"Nothing. It's just...didn't think this day would come so soon. Even though I have asked you a million times if you are ready, but the reality is...I'm not ready to let you go...not yet."

Genevieve said as another tear rolled down her cheeks. And at this point the tears that Elisa was holding in for so long finally made their way out as she hugged her best friend.

"I'll miss you...*sniff*...I'll miss you so damn much" Elisa exclaimed in between her sniffles.

"Me too..." Genevieve said as she hugged her back.

*Knock Knock*

A knock on the door made both of the girls break the hug as they wiped their tears.

"Who is it? The door is open" Elisa said.

The door slowly opened revealing the one Elisa's eyes were dying to see at the moment. She picked up her dress as she dashed towards that person. "Master!" Elisa exclaimed as she threw herself on him.

"Ho ho, calm down kiddo. I know I'm as attractive as a magnet that made you immediately stick to me, I understand" Mr. Wilson said as Elisa laughed.

"You know what, Oldie? You shouldn't be so full of yourself" Elisa said as she broke the hug. "That's an insult I would say. You haven't seen me in my prime yet. I was the hot topic of town" he said.

"Yeah, as a man who blew up a whole laboratory," Elisa added.

"You!? You don't know anything...humph! Stupid Frogie" Mr. Wilson exclaimed.

"Hey~ Don't call me that! At least not today..." Elisa whined, making him laugh.

"What can I do? Your eyes remind me of a frog. I can't help it" he said as he laughed whereas Elisa pouted. "Ahem Ahem" Genevieve fake coughed, gaining both of their attention.

"Oh my. Genevieve~" Mr. Wilson said as he walked towards her before engulfing her in a hug. "You two really seem to be ignoring my presence" Genevieve complained as they laughed.

"Oh, how dare I ignore such a royal presence? My apologies" Mr. Wilson dramatically said as both of the girls chuckled at his non-serious behaviour.

Genevieve and Mr. Wilson also had quite an understanding after all, both of them equally worked hard together to help Elisa come out of her dark hole. So both of them also share a cute bond.

"I'm really happy that you are here. The most important people in my life are here with me, together, on the most life-changing day of my life" Elisa said she held each of their hands in hers.

"It is supposed to be a happy day but..." Genevieve spoke up but wasn't able to complete her sentence.

"Stop it. I don't want my last moments with you to be sad. I want to leave happily. Are we clear?" Elisa said sternly as the others nodded.

"Okay, then. First of all, how do I look?" Elisa asked, spinning around, showing off her dress.

"Stunning" Genevieve said.

"Exactly like a frog" Mr. Wilson said with a smiling face as both the girls passed him a death glare, making him change his words.

"Exactly not like a frog because you look like a fairy" he said, maintaining his same smiley face as both the girls nodded in satisfaction.

*Knock Knock*

A knock on the door could be heard before the door slowly opened. There were standing Mr. and Mrs. Shizwell in their formal attire, followed by Mrs. Williams. Mr. Shizwell wore a neutral expression, making it harder to read his feelings whereas Mrs. Shizwell's expression showed multiple feelings...Guilt?...Sadness? Her expression also showed how stunned she was after seeing her daughter in a wedding outfit.

"Grand Master, it's a pleasure to have your attendance" Mr. Shizwell said as he extended his hand for a handshake but Mr. Wilson gave him a disappointed look before ignoring his whole existence and it wasn't a surprise to Mr. Wilson what could be the reason behind his behaviour.

"Lisa? Dear, Are you ready?" Rosella asked her only daughter in a soft voice.

Elisa looked at her for a brief while before slowly nodding. Rosella held both of Elisa's hands in hers as Elisa looked at her with a confused gaze.

'I'm sorry…I love you'

Is what Rosella mouthed to her daughter which made Elisa's heart beat to quicken it's pace.

'She never said I love you to me before...It was always I'm sorry...  Elisa thought, looking at her mother's glossy eyes as Mrs. Shizwell engulfed her in a hug which Elisa couldn't resist. Who can refuse their mother's warmth?

This sudden action of hers made Elisa weak as her eyes also got teary, blurring her vision. Both of them broke the hug and soon Mrs. Williams also hugged her, making it even harder for Elisa. The two broke the hug as Elisa passed her a reassuring smile which Mrs. Williams couldn't return. Elisa turned around and what happened further made her heart stop.

James Shizwell, her father, hugged her. Never in her life did he ever hug his kid by himself, it was always Elisa who made the first move but eventually stopped when got no affection from her father.

"I'm sorry"

James whispered in her ears as she froze to her spot.

"Wha-?" Elisa couldn't process his words. James broke the hug and rushed out of the room after whispering something in his wife's ear.

"We will be waiting outside. Take your time" Rosella said and went out, following her husband and Mrs. Williams also went behind them after passing a sad smile to Elisa. Whereas Elisa was still frozen to her spot, trying to process what just happened.

'Did he...say sorry?...Why now?'
